I Brake For...Peaches!! And a Freebie!

Hello stampers.  Nancy here  and happy Wednesday where it is my turn to show you a beautiful, juicy and ripe stamp.  Do you like peaches?  I LOVE them and IBFS has them!!  Here is my piece:

It showcases the beautifully drawn stamp called Peaches, available here,  and it  is also available as part of a larger set called MS58 Full Sheet which includes not just this peach image but pears, melons and grapes as well.  That large set can be found here.

This stamp works well for a card front but I ended up making a framed piece for my craft room.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with copics.  Love how it turned out and I think I can use this image to practice my copic coloring.  I can see coloring this in various shades of red, pink, yellow and orange. making the fruit lighter or darker in color.

Now, I have a freebie for you!  The text that you see around the frame was created by me using a bunch of different fonts.  I printed it out on kraft cardstock and changed the transparency down to about 60% so that it would not overwhelm the main image.  If you want the background for your personal use here it is:

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you pop on over to the IBFS store and take a look at this stamp and the larger set - they are all lovely images.

Have fun!!

I Brake for Teachers!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a "work in progress."  I work in an elementary school and a couple of us have decided to do a few things to help beautify the school and make it a nicer place to work.  For instance someone added some table cloths, a flower arrangement and brought a pretty clock into our staff lunch room.

I plan on making several little "pictures" to hang in different areas.

I trimmed out her purse and shopping bag because they didn't really make sense for a teacher to be holding them.  It shows you that your stamps can be even more versatile with a little creative thinking.
I figure the purse strap just looks like a bracelet now.

I hope the staff will enjoy these funny little
wall hangings and it will put a smile on their faces.

I Brake For,,,,,,,,,,Flower Background

Hello IBFS fans...Nancy here with another pretty spring card....

The image is called Large Flower Background and measures 3 1/8 x 4.5.  It can be found at the IBFS store here.

Now, I had another completely different card in mind for this stamp...until I stamped it.  I saw how pretty the design was and thought it would make a wonderful focal point for a card.  I did not want to cover this pretty background with another image!!

I stamped it with Peeled Paint distress ink and colored the leaves and flowers with copics.  It really took no time at all to do this.  I paired the image with some digi papers  -  yellow in the background and striped paper in blue, green and yellow.  The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with a stitched circle die.  Just a little blue ribbon was added for an accent.
Stop by the IBFS store - I know you will find something wonderful there!

I Brake for Blue Poppies!

It's the second day of spring, snow is on the ground, and it's still chilly here in the Northeast. I'm yearning for warm days and flowers, so I decided to go floral with the poppies/text image from the Half Sheet Numbers and Flowers (Stampinback stamps) carried at I Brake for Stamps. By the way, IBFS ships internationally!

Here's my card.

The poppies/text image was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (ImagineCrafts) onto wood patterned paper. The poppies were colored with Copic markers to match a photo of gorgeous blue poppies that I found on Google images. As a Virgo, I sometimes usually like to be accurate. I used a wet brush to loosely draw around the perimeter of the image, then tore on the wet lines. The poppies part of the image was outlined with a Copic marker, then the text and dot part of the image were sponged with Distress inks.

I recently rediscovered my sprays and decided that they weren't evil after all! In fact, they're rather fun to use! A corrugated cardboard rectangle (reserved packaging) was sprayed with various blue sprays until I was happy with the result. The excess ink was mopped up with a second corrugate rectangle, a white tag, and a short length of white lace.

A stencil was placed atop the sprayed corrugate, then a pearlescent white spray was misted over top to create a pattern and some shimmer. The sprayed shimmery corrugate was heat set, then the top layer was torn in a few spots to reveal the texture below. Some Distress ink was sponged onto the revealed layers to change the color a bit.

The image panel was adhered, the dyed lace was stapled on, and three small dragonfly charms were added.

I found a sheet of script patterned paper in my stash, which I cut down, then used Jet Black Archival ink  with the dot patterned stamp from the Half Sheet Numbers and Flowers rubber sheet to stamp the dot pattern several times. The dotty script panel was sponged with the same mix of Distress inks used on the image panel.

The corrugate matted image panel was adhered to the card front, glitter stickers from my stash were used to add the sentiment, and the card front was adhered to a blue 5x7 card.

I Brake for Stamps has a great selection of Stampinback's rubber stamps that you ought to check out right now. Click on my badge below to be whisked over to I Brake for Stamps to check out all of the goodies!

I Brake for Mama ...

Hello IBFS fans !!
It's Crystal here and today I have a Mother's Day card using Enoa Mae and Kids , she is from the Humorous Senior line and you all know how I love love love that line ....

Today I wanted to show how you can get more looks out of your stamps by cutting the stamped image apart and highlighting one of the images to be the main focal point , this is a Mother's day card so I wanted Mom to stand out from the kids , take a look at my card and then I will walk you thru how I did it .

ok here is how I made my card , I stamped the imaged in a news print designer paper 6x6 size ( this kind if paper has smaller print size made for card makers )
I then copic colored the kids and add line colors to the mom , this helps the image blend seamlessly when I pop her up over the news print image

I stamped the image again on white card stock and colored only mom and then fussy cut her out right on the black stamped line and then used glue dots to pop her up over the image of her stamped on news print

I added a banner with my sentiment cut from vinyl and a few of my DIY enamel dots I distressed the layer edges of my card and inked then up with TH walnut stain

you can see by the side angle that it is colored under the popped up image but we did not fully color and no one will ever know...

inside I stamp the image im matching ink to my card so its more like a watermark look and I can still write over the image to write a special message to mom

I did not have a die cut to fit the area I need it to fit , so what I did was use my Silhouette and cut vinyl to fit the area I need it to fit , it looks like its embossed but its really just vinyl , give it a try it will open a hole new world .

well I open this post has inspired you to look at your stamps in a whole new way , turn those images into a 2D look , leave me a commit if you liked my card today and if this is something you would like to try .

I Brake For......Kerr Jar

Hello my crafty friends!  Nancy here and  I hope all is going well with you.  Are you ready for spring?  it is right around the corner and I can't wait to see the pops of color as the flowers start to bloom.  We planted our annuals in the front last week and it was so nice to see something other than brown in the flower beds.
I have a wonderful spring like card to show you today.  A burst of color in some flowering blackberry /raspberry stems all delightfully placed in a Kerr mason jar:

The image is call Kerr Jar and can be found here in the IBFS store.
It's a wonderful image to color.  I used a mix of copics and prisma pencils for the coloring, sticking with purples and pinks.  The blackberries have a touch of green on them to show they are not quite ripe yet.  I used a pierced oval die for the main image and an EK Success punch for the scallop portion on the bottom.  The paper is from Basic Grey and I had to add a little bling with green rhinestones.
Please be sure to stop by the IBFS store for more wonderfully detailed stamps!
