I Brake for Birdhouses!

Hello from design team member, Heidi. I would like to share these cards, which I recently used for Mother’s Day, that I made with the Large Summer Time Birdhouse stamps.  This stamp is large, measuring almost 6 inches by 3.5 inches.  It would be great for 5x7 cards, but today I cropped it to fit a standard A2 card.

I colored the image with alcohol markers, adding some detail with a white gel pen. I decided to color the birds as a family of Eastern Bluebirds, as these are my Grandma’s favorite.  I colored a second image and framed it out slightly differently to suit my mom’s tastes.  I used sentiments from both the Dahlia Quarter Sheet and Bird Sheet 141A.

I Brake for Stamps also carries some other really nice birdhouse stamps! When I used that search term on their website, I found all these!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

I Brake For.....Birdhouses!

Hello stampers, Nancy here today.  I have another Birdhouse card to show you today!

This one uses a recently released stamp called Birdhouse #3 and it is a cute little duplex!  Or maybe a house with a mother-in-law suite! Either way it is so sweet and can be colored any way you want.

I stamped the image with memento ink and then colored it using prisma pencils, using the designer paper of dusty pinks and blues for the color palette.  I wanted the birdhouses to have a weathered look to them, so I used some darker shades and some browns to add a little texture.

Also, I drew in the base that the houses sit on (just a few simple lines) and colored that up with pencils as well.

The Birdhouse #3 can be found here as a single stamp, and is also part of a larger set called Yard And Garden Set found here.

If you like birdhouse images, I Brake For Stamps has a number of them  - more than a dozen!   I hope you stop by the IBFS store and check them all out - I'm sure you will find something you like!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

I Brake For.... Birdhouse!!

Hello stamping friends.  I hope all is well with you as we start September and the unofficial fall season.  While it is still in the 90's here in Florida, there are signs all around that fall is in the air.  The stores are filled with cool weather clothes, school is back in session and pumpkins seem to be everywhere.  For today's card I am going to show you a sweet birdhouse stamp.

The image on the card is actually made up of two stamps..first, the actual birdhouse is called Birdhouse #2  and can be found here.  The larger leaves on the post is a border stamp called Vine Border and can be found here.  Both of these images can be found in the full set called Yard And Garden Sheet  found here.  The sheet also contains a wonderful sunflower image that I used not too long ago, as well as some other cute stamps.

Now - if you check out the birdhouse stamp of the IBFS store you will see that it is just the birdhouse itself, and not the post that I show it siting on in the card.  I actually drew in the post myself because I needed the birdhouse to be sitting on something to make the design work.  It was merely a few straight lines just below the birdhouse   - super simple to do!

I colored the house several different times with copics - pinks, yellow, orange, green - and finally decided on a pretty violet.  Love the color and surprised myself when I found cardstock to match!

The sentiment is computer generated.  Some ribbon and an enamel dot were added for embellishments.  I kept wanting to add more but nothing seemed right, so I just left it at that.  It's on ongoing learning experience for me to know when to stop.

I hope you will stop by the IBFS store - they have a bunch of new stamps that were recently released - I'm sure you will find something to your liking.

Thank for stopping by today!

I Brake For Birdhouse's

Good afternoon sorry I am late again but have a really cute image to share with you today.......I used the Birdhouse stamp from IBFS
and the sentiment is from the Florals Sheet.

I just love this image I have colored it with Stampin-Up markers...stamped the bird twice and popped him for some depth ....the blossoms remind me of apple blossoms so colored them pink with a little glitz from my stickles....the largest part of the birdhouse was done with re-inkers and a water brush....oh and my card is a 5X5....used the birds and swirls embossing folder from Cuttlebug...background paper is from ColorBox from Wal-Marts.
That's it for me today hope you all had a nice long week-end.
Hugs
Beth

I Brake for Challenges - Summer!

It's Holly posting today, and it's time for the next challenge from the I Brake for Challenges blog! Can you guess what it is this time? It's all about Summer - hot days, swimming, flip flops, and BBQ's!

So what does a birdhouse have to do with summer? Bear with me as I tell you a little story. Every year we have some barn swallows who nest in the spaces under our porches. Well, right now I've been seeing a lot of those barn swallows flying in and they are hanging out on the ledges and on our outdoor ceiling fans. I don't know if these are the parents or the babies, but they come back every year. Sooooo..... I had birdies on the brain when I was creating my "summery" card. :-)

I used summery colors - fun oranges and pale blues - and I aged these papers by doing the Distressed Papers technique. The birdhouse image (Birdhouses Set from I Brake for Stamps) is colored with Copic markers directly on some patterned paper. The ribbon is actually some white ribbon that I colored with some distress stains. A few Wild Orchid flowers from I Brake for Stamps provide the finishing touch on this clean and simple card.

I hope you play along with this fun Summer challenge over at the I Brake for Challenges blog.

Stamps: Birdhouses Set - I Brake for Stamps
Ink: Rich Cocoa Memento
CS: dark brown, Stella Rose-Mabel paper (My Minds Eye)
Other: distress stains, white ribbon, Wild Orchid Flowers from I Brake for Stamps
