I Brake for “ ‘Twas the night before Christmas…

...and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.” This time of year is my favorite season to create cards. I always do the traditional and complimentary colors, red and green. I may add the touch of gold or purple, but the majority of my cards will be very strong in red and green. With that rule, “The Night Before Christmas” image, designed by Rick St.Dennis MFA (RSD) for I Brake for Stamps (IBFS) was perfect for my red and green. You can find this little guy in digital format in the RSD digital section under the Randi Dandi Section.

I colored “The Night before Christmas” with Copics and added some Gelly Roll Stardust glitter pen for some accents. My dies cuts are Spellbinder’s Holly Motifs. Before I release the cardstock from the die I distressed the embossed areas with Gathered Straw Distress Ink and added Stardust glitter pen to those areas. Finished it off with some flat-backed red pearls.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you stop by everyday for more IBFS inspiration. You can find more details at my blog, AJ’s Designs.

Wishing everyone in the United States, Happy Thanksgiving!

Winter Avie

I know winter is a word that many of us don't like to hear as it brings miserable, cold weather and dark gray skies.  The stamp I used today, Winter Avie by Chelsea Le Designs is just the opposite.  She is a cute little thing dressed in adorable warm, winter clothing and is perfect for a winter or a Christmas themed card.  My card that I am going to share with you today is a little of both.  A winter card in festive red and white Christmas coloring.

The cold weather is starting to settle in here, just in time for the holiday season.  I hope you are enjoying the weather in your neck of the woods!  Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Thanks so much for stopping by,

I Brake For Wise Guys......

{Jane Bosi}  I had to have it!!  This adorable sheet spoke directly to my heart and quickly was added to my "MUST HAVE" list.  I used the masking technique to join the "three wise boys" into this cute little scene. I'm anxious to use more of the images from this sweet set in a similar way.....maybe a canvas?? All three are colored with copic markers and then a little Stickle bling was added. It's sometimes difficult to take a card to the next level when using a larger image piece---just no room for embellies!! Nevertheless, these cuties are all that needs to be seen! TTFN

Cocoa Cammy

Cold enough for you yet?  If you were afraid of the cooler arriving I think you have just met your match.  As I am typing this post I am sitting here watching the weather and they are using the yucky four letter word SNOW and talking about cold, cold, cold.  Today's project fits this weather change perfectly as it is another Chelsea Le Designs image, Cocoa Cammy.  I'm pretty sure I am going to be drinking some cocoa a today and a little more regularly from now on.

Stay warm everyone and have a fabulous Tuesday!

I Brake for a Christmas Dress

Hi all! Aletha here with more Christmas inspiration from I Brake for Stamps (IBFS). Today I have a very cute art card using one of Rick St. Dennis’s Christmas digital image, “Christmas Dress.” You can also find her in a single rubber stamp or in a sheet of four amazing rubber stamps.

I have colored Christmas Dress with Copics and added some sparkle with Spicas and Wink of Stella glitter markers. I kept everything in traditional Christmas colors, which I love. I will have more details listed on my blog, AJ's Designs.

I used holly motif die cuts and added Red Wink of Stella brush markers. Added a few red and green crystals and I think she ready to show off her new Christmas dress.

Thanks for stopping by. Please head back here every day for more IBFS inspiration from some very talented designers. Check out our Facebookpage for all the happenings at IBFS. I hope everyone has a great week!

Gentle Zebra

This is Patricia here and this is my first time posting at I Brake for Stamps. Please be kind and I will do my best to tell you about my card. The stamp I used is called Gentle Zebra and you can fine him here. I made both cards Clean and Simple because I have several birthdays this month. Here is a closer look of the card on the right side. First stamped the image with Versa Mark and added ultra fine black embossing power and heat set the power. Used the gelly pen color white and added the flax stitch lines. Added some pearl pen color black to the corners. Sponged around the edges with memento ink color tuxedo black.
Added some twine and some pearl pen color ice white. I Brake For Stamps has so many wonderful sentiments and I liked this one but their are so many more. I stamped the sentiment with memento tuxedo black ink.
I always finish off the insides of my cards. For this one I added a sentiment, I really liked this one.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my card,
Hugs, Patricia

I Brake For Pretty Pumpkin!

Happy Tuesday, Kristen here with a fall theme project to share with you! It is hard to believe that we are already in November.  Where has the year gone?  For my card, I used Pretty Pumpkin by Chelsea Le Designs and created this card, which I will mail to my Niece for Thanksgiving!.  Isn't this image adorable.  This image would be great for a Thanksgiving, fall or fall birthday card.  I used my copics to color.  Are you ready for Thanksgiving????  I hope you have a great day and happy Crafting!

Christmas Angel Avie

Good morning everyone!  Today I am sharing with you another wonderful Chelsea Le Designs image, Christmas Angel Avie.  With Halloween over and Thanksgiving just around the corner I thought I would get started on my Christmas themed images.  I also played around with a new technique today,  I sponged around the distressed edges of my paper using acrylic paint.  I also sponged the paint on the edges of my flowers.  I was very happy with the results and can't wait to try it again.

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!

I Brake for Betti and Spring

Happy Monday! Aletha here and I hope everyone had a great and creative weekend. I know that I had a good one. I was in my studio most of the time. I love it when that happens.

My project this week is really for spring time. I know, we just got over Halloween, and now getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I needed some spring and summer color.

I would like to introduce you to Betti, from Rick St. Dennis’s Randi Dandi series here at I Brake for Stamps. I colored her with Copics, of course, and added a few handmade flowers to enhance the spring time mood. I adore Rick’s Randi Dandi series. Most of the designs have marvelous hair styles, and I love coloring hair. I have all the details and links on my blog at AJ’s Designs.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you stop by every day for some I Brake for Stamps inspiration.

I Brake For the North Pole!

Hello and a good Saturday to you all!

As much as I'm a "one holiday at time" kind of girl I do realize that when you MAKE your own Christmas cards you have to pretty much work on them all year long! Today I'm sharing a wonderfully sweet Rick St. Dennis digital image found at I Brake For Stamps.

The image I chose is called North Pole Welcome.  I'm sure by now most everyone is familiar with digi stamps but in case you're not here's a little description.  When you purchase the image it will be e-mailed to you.  You can then print it out in any size or color you want!  That's really cool because sometimes I want a smaller or large image depending on the layout of my card.  This is a definite advantage over traditional rubber stamps.  (Though I'm still TOTALLY hooked on rubber!)

The verse is from the sheet called Every Day Phrases.
