I Brake for Crabby Birthdays!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing the card that I made for my sister-in-law's birthday.
She loves the beach so I know she'll think this is cute.

I used SEA CRITTERS complete set.
He can also be found in his own CRAB SET if you prefer.

I love the scales background for nautical cards and I added some stickles to the sand to give it some sparkle.

I Brake for Dreams!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a card that I made for my friend.  I've worked with her for 12 years and she's now moving to the Middle School.  I wanted to wish her well.
Her family owns a marina and I know she loves nautical things so I think she'll like this.

and

The Live Your Dream verse is from the Sea set and the verse inside is from the Phrases set.

I wanted it to look like the turtles were swimming and there were bubbles all around them so I made a shaker card.  The paper with the coral inside the shaker it a pretty shimmery metallic paper.

I love Sting and my card makes me think of his song Dream of the Blue Turtles. (Just the title...not the actual song)

I Brake for Crab Surprises!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing

I made this for my Father-in-law who lives in Florida.
I thought he'd enjoy this image.

It's from I Brake for Stamps.
I stamped Happy Father's Day inside and my husband personalized it for his dad.

Side note...does anyone know what the balls in the basket are??
I've used this image twice and I'm not sure if I've colored them remotely correctly! lol!!

I Brake for Beachy Birthdays!

Hello and happy Saturday!

I'm not ready to let summer go yet so....

Today I'm sharing a birthday card with you.  We have a lot of friends who have lake homes or live in the south near a beach so I love making nautical themed cards.

This one features MS97 Full Plate
from

The two part verse is a sentiment from

Both of these sets are just perfect for summer or pretty much any time of year!

I Brake for Boathouses!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a card that I made for a co-worker.
She and her husband run a Marina, hotel, pool club and some shops in Wilson, N.Y. besides her being a teacher.  This spring they added a restaurant, The Wilson Boathouse, to their "family."

I've used a couple of stamps from MS97 FULL PLATE from

The new restaurant is almost directly north of Buffalo on Lake Ontario.

Here's the inside where I personalized it.

The rocks and seaweed/fish are also from the set.
The other items are die cuts.

I brake for anchors!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Brother-in-Law's birthday card.  I have a TON of March birthdays in mine and my husband's family and need to get a jump start.  A bunch of them are southern "beach" people so I love nautical cards for them.

I've used the MS97 Full Plate from I Brake for Stamps for my card.

All of the die cuts are from Ellen Hutson and pair perfectly with this beautiful sheet of nautical images!

Here's the inside of the card.  I didn't stamp a birthday sentiment inside but I figured we could just write it in.  Bob lives on Hilton Head Island and this lighthouse reminded me of one we visited when we've gone to see them.

It seems ironic.  I don't like the beach due to my fair skin (previous bout with skin cancer) and my fear of things in the ocean.  Yet...if you asked me...nautical cards are one of my all time favorite cards to make and ocean creatures are some of my favorite animals on earth.  I don't know...go figure.

I Brake for Beaches!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Father-In-Law's birthday card with you.
He lives in Florida and loves the water so I often make him a nautical themed card.
I've used several images from MS97 Full Plate.
On the front I used the one of the smaller lighthouses because I wanted it to appear that it was in the distance a bit.
I also used the sailboat.

I hand drew in the lines for the sky, water and sand. I used a very thin Marvy marker to make some tufts of sea grass.  I also added a couple more stepping stones.

On the inside I used some rocks with sea grass and the bottle with sand. The verse is from Every Day Phrases.

Even though I don't love the beach...I'm very pale so I burn easily...plus I don't like things touching me when I'm swimming.  Plus the sand gets everywhere...plus...well, you get the point.  In spite of that, Nautical cards are one of my all time FAVORITE cards to make!!  I'm going to get tons of use out of this sheet.

I Brake for S'Whale Whales!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card I made for my friend.

I decided to create a shaker window card.  The sequins and beads are on the front of the card and you can see through the shaker to the inside of the card where the whale is.  I also used some of the fusible glitter sheets on the anchor.  I just cut a small piece off the sheet and ran it and the die through my Cuttlebug.

Here's the inside of my card with one of the sentiments from the Whale Set.

Here you can see some of the fun shaker elements shaken up a bit.

"Sea" ya later!

I Brake for Crabby Birthdays!

Hello and happy Saturday!

My Father-In-Law has a birthday coming up at the end of the month so I wanted to get a head start on getting his card made.  I need a head start because I also have a Nephew, Sister-In-Law and two Brother-In-Laws with March birthdays.  It's a busy month for our family!  (not to mention that I'm a March baby)

So...George lives just outside of Tampa, Fl. and loves the water.  How perfect is this CRAB SURPRISE for him?

You can find it over at I Brake for Stamps.

I Brake For Lighthouses!

Hello and happy Saturday!

I realize that Father's Day has come and gone but I still wanted to share the card that I made for my Father-In-Law because I think it goes way beyond Father's Day.  This would make a beautiful birthday, retirement, thinking of you etc....card.

Dad lives in Florida now and even when he was here local he lived on a lake.  He's always loved being around the water.  I know he really enjoyed this card.

I used the beautiful Large Lighthouse from I Brake For Stamps.

The anchor was cut with a Quickutz die and it was colored with Copic markers.
