I Brake for Christmas!

Hello!  I like to try to make several Christmas cards each month of the year.  This decreases stress for me around the holidays, and I enjoy making each card more if I keep up with it.

I decided to use a paper quilt for the backgrounds of these cards (made with scraps of patterned papers), and it was just a perfect spot to add a little scene form these Snow Balls stamps.  I stamped everything out in navy ink, but made each card different.

Snowballs stamp set is HERE and the sentiment I used is from Christmas Tree Collage sheet.

Thank you for visiting today!  Keep on Stamping!

I Brake for OZ!

Hello and happy Saturday!!

Today I'm sharing the card that I made for my sister's birthday...this coming November.  Yes,  I may have planned a little bit ahead. I've been a fan of I Brake for Stamps for a VERY long time.  Some how I had never seen this set until recently.  My sister is a HUGE Wizard of Oz fan and I just couldn't wait to make her this card!!

The set is called MOVIE POSTERS SHEET and it has 8 images on it. I used 5 of them on my card.

I got on Google to see how to color this more accurately and found this Spanish poster that matched the image.

This is the inside of the card right now but they may change before I send it to my sister.  I remembered that I have a small shoe die so I might cut some ruby slippers out and add them.

To create my sparkly "ruby" border around the poster I used a FUSIBLE GLITTER SHEET.  These aren't really meant to be used like paper but I can't get enough of that glorious sparkle these sheets have!!  This one is the RED.  Check out the link to see all you can do with these sheets!  I have a bunch of colors and they're all stunning!  You can use them to iron onto clothing or other craft projects.

I Brake for Chefs!

Hello and happy Wednesday!!
Today I'm sharing the card that I made for my step-dad for Father's Day.  I just love this fun image!  I've also used him to send a thank you card when we've gone to someone's house for a BBQ.  Wouldn't he also be cute for an invitation to a picnic or great for a birthday card.

He's called KISS THE CHEF.
I've been really trying to use supplies that I have and are just sitting there collecting dust.  I have TONS of ribbon.  I'm not sure why I ever thought I'd need so much but the apron gave me a great excuse to pull some out and use it.  I used Washi tape in the corner.  Don't worry...I only have a normal amount of that! 😂

I just love the Humorous Seniors.  If you haven't met any of them yet you should check them out!

I Brake for Roses!

Hello stampers!  I have a shabby chic card to share today.  I love to make at least one rose card in June, as it is the birth flower.  When I got this pretty rose stamp that is part of set Half Sheet 137a, I knew it would be fantastic for making your own patterned paper.

And it is!  It is very forgiving too.  I didn’t have any trouble lining it up or anything, I just stamped away in a general pattern using brown ink. I then distressed the entire panel with tea dye distress ink and a sponge applicator.  I also splattered some ink lightly to get some more aging to the panel.

Finally, I added color to the roses and leaves with chalks.  I really am so happy with this background and can’t wait to try it with other colors!

I layered a sentiment from Inspirational Phrases set with some fancy die cuts.  I put this over some lace that was in my stash and put my very last adhesive pearls underneath.  I can’t believe that those are my last pearls, sometimes it seems like you will never use all your embellishments!

I hope you have a wonderful day and keep on stamping!

I Brake for Birds on Father’s Day!

Hello all!  I have a card to share that will be a special Father’s Day card for my grandpa.  He loves birds and spends many hours each day attending to his bird feeders.  They bring him so much enjoyment.

I stamped this bird in brown and then colored it simply with alcohol markers. I die cut it, then with the die in place, sponged some light blue ink around it.  I then stamped the sentiment and die cut it the same way.

The background is made with the Distress Stencil Technique that you can find at this link.  I used Frayed Burlap Distress ink and a feather stencil.

The stamp sets I used are Sheet 141B Bird Nests stamp sheet and Inspirational Phrases stamp sheet.  Please check these out in the I Brake for Stamp store!

I Brake for Seahorses!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing an underwater themed card.
I used two sets to make this card.
and

The sentiment can also be found on the full sheet Sea Critters
By the Sea is one of my favorite sets and I realized I had used every image from it except for the seahorses.

The fish was fun to color.  He doesn't actually have stripes.  I was feeling a Nemo sort of clown fish for this card so I drew in the stripes and colored him accordingly.

I Brake for Camping!

Hello and happy Tuesday!
Today I'm sharing the card that I made for my father-in-law for upcoming Father's Day.

I used Camping Carl.

My husband's family lived on a lake for about 20 years so I think he'll like this.
This was my first ever attempt at no line coloring and I clearly need more practice.  A few areas were giving me problems so I tried to LIGHTLY ink the black ink and as you can see some areas came out too dark.  It actually isn't quite so dark in person but my camera is extremely high resolution.

I Brake for Birdhouses!

My friend is moving to a new apartment soon and I wanted to make her a card for her housewarming gift.  I decided to work with this bird set, which includes this cute “Home Tweet Home” sentiment.

I simply stamped, colored and cut out the bird house and the little bird.  I popped the bird up over top, and they layered it over some scraps of pretty patterned paper I had.  I cut a die cut banner for the sentiment and added some cute enamel dots to the card.

Here is a link to the stamp set I used - Bird Nests Sheet 141B.  Super fun!

Thanks for visiting today and keep on stamping!

I Brake for Distress!

Hello!  I hope you are well!

I have a card to share today using the Old and New Stamp Sheet.  I like the sayings in this set, and I also like the grunge font.

I first masked off an area on my white cardstock and sponged over with Distress Oxide inks.  I stamped my saying, and then I stamped the flower and restamped (without reinking) get a second impression.  I used Distress Oxide black ink for my stamping. I like the chalky look it gives me, but if you want crisper stamping, I would use Versafine.

I think this is a fun look and saying for a card for a teen.

Thanks for visiting!
