I Brake for Butterfly Wishes!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a beautiful verse stamp with you.  Usually we think of the sentiment as being secondary, it's there to compliment the image.  This sentiment is the star of the card though.

It's such a pretty poem and the little butterflies accent it so beautifully.

My friend's grandmother passed away earlier this week (at 97) and I wanted to make something pretty for her.

I Brake For Bistros

Hi everybody!  Regina here....

It's so cold, rainy, windy, etc., that when I ran across the stamp I am using here, it made me think of warm, beautiful days ahead, relaxing at a bistro table with a glass of wine.  This stamp is from I Brake For Stamps called Bistro Table.

I wanted this to be colored with subtle, soft colors to make it look relaxing and inviting.  I almost sponged a background and decided I liked how it looked without one.  It reminds me of those little matted pictures you can buy at the store, simple yet cute.

I used Copics to color, added some Sakura Silver Star glitter pen to the pole of the umbrella and fringe to add some sparkle and of course, have to have sequins.

I Brake to Dance!

This song was inspired by a few of David Bowie's songs, but being me, I mistook the "red shoes" in Let's Dance for "red dress". Oh well. At least I remembered that something was red. However, there are a lot of other songs where women wear red dresses, so maybe I was inspired by them. Who really knows?

Here's my card using the dancing woman and the clock/sentiment from The Old and The New Half Sheet (Stampinback) which you can purchase at I Brake for Stamps

The woman from the The Old and The New set was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko), colored with Copic markers, fussy-cut, and edged with a Black Multi-liner pen. A touch of blush was added with a pink chalk pencil (Derwent). She was set aside while I created a background for her.

Silver glitter paper (DCWV) was die-cut with the Star Flourish die (Memory Box) and set aside.

The clock/sentiment from The Old and The New set was stamped with Unicorn Hero Hues (Hero Arts) onto music-patterned paper from the DIY Shop 6x6 pad (American Crafts) then heat-set with Polysparkle embossing powder (Ranger).

Chipped Sapphire and Blueprint Sketch Distress inks (Ranger) were sponged over the heat embossed music paper. Faded Jeans Distress ink was sponged over the Tornado stencil (Andy Skinner/DecoArt). The card front was edged with Black Soot Distress ink.

The glittery die-cut was adhered, then the dancer from the The Old and The New set was adhered on the die-cut. The cardfront was adhered to a white card and I called it done.

I Brake For Flowers

{jane bosi} It's always of interest to me, the different ways I can use the same image.  I love this Kerr jar image and have shown it many times, but never like this!

I started by heat embossing the image on kraft card stock.  Using water colors (Koi by Sakura), I added color to the image.  Once dry, I cut the image using an oval die and the Out of the Box technique.  To finish things off, I added the sentiment "Enjoy the good life."  You will find it on the Beach Theme Full Sheet.

As usual, I had to add a few pieces of bling for some finishing sparkle!  It just makes me happy!

I Brake For Kitchen Organization!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a fun utensil caddy that I created using an image from I Brake For Stamps.
The stamp is called Kiss the Chef.

You can get caddies at the store but none are as personal as this.  I used an up-cycled broth can that I covered in paper.

Okay, maybe you're thinking..."but he's GRILLING and that takes place outside."  I absolutely love to cook but I've never once in my life grilled.  I can do just about anything you can do on the grill in my kitchen.  If I can't do it, I don't care because I don't miss it.  Steaks are best seared on the stove top and finished in the oven anyways.

I Brake for Vineyards

Hi everybody.... Regina here and I need an anniversary card for my boyfriend.... we will be together 2 years 1/30.  I drew a blank. Then a lightbulb went off to use this stamp called Vineyard for the card since we stay at a B&B winery every year.  We love the place so much.  We already have rooms booked for this October, it will be out 3rd time going there, in Hermann Missouri.

This stamp is from I Brake For Stamps called Vineyard.  I love coloring scenery stamps!

I used Prismacolor Pencils to color the image, Memento Rich Cocoa ink so that I could color over the lines, and used baby oil on parts of it to create a smoother look, such as,the sky.  You can also use Gamsol for this.  The Love die is from Lawn Fawn.

I think this will make a great Anniversary Card, don't you?  If you use images that have special meaning to a person on your cards, how can you go wrong?

I Brake for Cats!

You might not know, but I love cats, which is reflected in my feline stamp (and die) collection, both of which are rather large. One of my newest cat stamps is Large Feline Femme (Time to Stamp) from their fabulous Femmes Collection

Here's my card with my new Feline Femme stamp which you can purchase at I Brake for Stamps.

Feline Femme  was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko) and colored with Copic markers. Blush was added to her cheeks and her shoulders with a pink chalk pencil (Derwent). I opted to make the kitty a grey one. Next time I'll make her look like one of my cats and will add some wrinkles and oddly colored hair to make the woman look like me.

I discovered that the papers in the Sweet Threads 6x6 pad (Basic Grey) matched the colors that I used really well. I used a sketch from The Cheerful Sketches Challenge BlogYou can see the sketch below to see how I did. The circle was die-cut with the circle die from one of the Blueprints die sets (Die-namics). I used an old Cuttlebug tool to add piercings, then used a Black Multiliner (Copic) to add faux stitches. All paper layers were sponged with Cracked Pistachio Distress ink. The outermost layers were sponged with Hickory Smoke Distress ink.

Here's the sketch so you can see how I did.

this machine cuts out digi or stamped images wonderfully
IMG_4392
next I used Tim Holtz distress inks and made a matching layer  , I sponged on ink and added water splatter and heat dried and then added glue splatters and added glitter over that
IMG_4394
IMG_4395
the Hello is a Stamping Up die and it was die cut from silver foil card stock , the metal dots are colorbok brand.
I don't do bright-colored fun hair very often but I do think it's so fun ... Purple hair don't care ...
