I Brake for Gardens!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a gardening card with you.  I know most people think of gardening as a Spring/Summer project but where I live our growing season is short so I don't plant many annuals.  I plant perennials which get planted in the Fall!

She's part of the Humorous Seniors line from I Brake for Stamps.

Gracie is such a fun image.  Expect to see her again soon.  My friend from work has started belly dancing and Gracie does that as well!  Her birthday is in November so I think I need to make her a card using Belly Dancer Gracie.

I Brake for Mix n Match Flowers!

Hello!  Today’s card was designed using flowers from a couple different stamp sets.

I first stamped the silhouette flower by inking it up with two colors of blue ink.  I do not have any fancy ombré ink pads, so this is an easy way to get a similar look.  I cut this into a tag and edged it with green ink.

For my embellishment, I stamped an outline flower onto some scrap teal cardstock and I cut it out. I used glitter glue on the center.  Then I placed this over a bow on my card to create a hand done embellishment.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post!  The stamps are all available for purchase in the I Brake for Stamps store!

Happy Stamping!

I Brake for Harvest Mice!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing the Thanksgiving card I plan to give my mom and step-dad.  I'll be doing the cooking but it will be at their house.

I used
MOUSE HARVEST.

Thanksgiving just might be my favorite day of the year!  I love to cook and I love to eat.  What better day is there for those two things!!

I Brake for Winter Scenes!

It’s a rainy day here and it is a good day to work on Christmas cards.  I like this very sweet, super detailed stamp called Little Creatures Christmas.

I colored the stamp with alcohol markers.  I started with all the details in the Christmas tree. There are carrots, grapes, pinecones, and more, decorating this woodland tree!  How cute are all the little animals.  I then added Wink of Stella, glitter glue, white gel pen and glossy accents to the details.  It looks like it would take a long time to color but it really didn’t.

I masked off the snowy portion of the image, and the edges, and then sponged blue ink for my sky.  It looks like it took a long time to color, but it really didn’t .

I matted the image over some pretty plaid paper, using ribbon and a snowflake button to add even more Christmas cheer!

Hope you have a wonderful day! I would love to know if you have started your holiday cards yet?

I Brake for Wheat!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing what I'll probably turn into a Thanksgiving card.

I used

I didn't finish off the inside yet because my mom's been in the hospital.  I may just use it to brighten her day if she doesn't come home since it's also just a nice fall card as it is.  She hasn't been outside in over a week and loves fall.

I love fall and you always see the pumpkins and scarecrows and wagons...I was drawn to this wheat spray bundle because it was unique.

I Brake for Fall Bouquets!

Hello from design team member, Heidi.  I hope you are having a great Autumn so far.  Today, I am sharing a card with a bouquet of flowers that I colored for this season.

I decided to stamp my sentiment right over top of the card front.  I used my stamping platform so that I could stamp it repeatedly, and get a nice bold look.  Then, I thought I would use a bit of white pencil to highlight the right side of the words to make sure it stood out well.  I thought that did the trick, and my card is nice and flat for mailing!

The floral stamp is part of a lovely stamp set called Florals Sheet, and the sentiment can be found in the I Brake for Stamps store HERE.

Thank you for visiting the blog today!  Come back again soon!

I Brake for Butterflies!

Hello and happy Monday!
Today I'm sharing my mom's 70th birthday card.

My mom has been unable to tend to her gardens this summer due to illness so I wanted to bring her garden to her via her card.  She has what will hopefully be her last surgery today.

You can't really tell in the photo (see the shadow?) but the wings of the butterfly are popped up on foam tape.  The verse is from EVERY DAY PHRASES.

I Brake for Covered Bridges!

I love writing this post, because I really do brake for covered bridges!  I have happy memories of driving through one every year with my family, on our way to our summer vacation.  We always slowed down and tried to see if someone was coming through the other way, and when the coast was clear, drove on.   It is painted red, so I decided to color this stamped scene in red.

I used alcohol markers to color the scene.  I randomly decided where the clumps of different colored leaves would be and am happy how it turned out!  I added accents of die cut leaves around my oval frame, and finished it with this lovely plaid paper that I have been saving for a special project.

This stamp is simply called Covered Bridge and you can purchase it in the I Brake for Stamps store.  If you like covered bridges, there are a few others to choose from HERE.
