I Brake for Vampires!

The summer is winding down. Autumn approaches. Supermarkets and craft stores have put out their candy and changed their displays. It's almost time for the most magical time of the year and I'm getting into the spirit.

Here's a card featuring my new Vanna Vampire (Rick St. Dennis/I Brake for Stamps) rubber stamp.

Vanna Vampire is available as a single rubber stamp or as the Randi Dandi Halloween Rubber Stamp Sheet #1 that includes four fabulous Halloween imagesPersonally I think you should opt for the sheet. It's more economical in the long run. I should also mention that there are lots of Rick St. Dennis rubber stamps available at I Brake for Stamps.

Vanna Vampire was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts) and colored with Copic markers. When I was done, I sponged Milled Lavender Distress ink (Ranger) around the image, then sponged the same ink over the Starry Nights stencil.

White Shimmer Delicata ink (Imagine Crafts) was sponged over the Starry Nights stencil onto a blue-grey cardstock panel and onto a card created from the same cardstock. The smaller panel was edged with the White Shimmer Delicata ink. The image panel was matted with the small grey panel, which was adhered to the card front. A sentiment from the Christmastime Remnant Rubs (Idea-ology) was added to finish the card.

I Brake for Stamps has a large selection of Rick St. Dennis rubber stamps and a plethora of other great rubber stamps. You should check 'em all out. Tell them I sent you! Click on my badge below to be whisked over to I Brake for Stamps to check out all of the goodies!

I Brake For Dance

{jane bosi}  Happy Monday, Brakers!  If you aren't feeling much like dancing......here's a card that might make you see things a little differently.  Mondays are hard enough, why not dance?  This cute little monster is motivation enough, right?

This little cutie is one of Carmen Medlin's designs called Monster Mash.  I think she/he is just darling!
And, lots of fun to color!  I started with a water color wash and some spritzes on the background piece.  Then, using the same distress inks, I water colored the monster on a separate piece of water color paper.  I added a sweet little heart button and the sentiment on some colored card stock. Fun :)

Here's to dancing like no one's watching!  TTFN, Jane

I Brake for Bistered Leaves!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a card that was inspired by Cheryl.  I kind of felt like I was being left in her Thanksgiving dust with all her amazing creations so I pulled out a stamp I hadn't used yet.

This is called Large Leaf.
The really fun part about this card is that I didn't color with my usual Copic markers.  I used BISTER powder stains to color the leaves.  I used Red and Natural for my leaves and then a little bit of yellow Copic marker just to add some highlights.  I know my fall leaves are never just one color.  I love how natural they turned out the color variations you get from the powders.

All I did was take some watercolor paper, stamp the leaf twice and cut them out.  Next I spritzed the paper with a little water and applied the powder.  You don't need very much powder at all for this.  I use my needle-nose tweezers to grab a little powder and I sprinkle it over the paper.  Then I spritz again.  Sometimes I just leave it as is.  This time I took a tissue and dabbed it around so that the entire leaf was stained and then just added a couple tiny little sprinkles of powder to make some darker spots.  Super easy and so pretty!

I used EVERY DAY PHRASES  for the Happy Thanksgiving verse.

I Brake for Gram ...

Hello IBFS fans !!!

It's Crystal here, today I made a fun card using Millie Moped , she is from the Humorous Senior line as so stinkin' cute  , I colored her in prisma colored pencils and I used my Wonky dies to make a frame for her.  I found some cute pattern papers from Studio Calico called Here + There  , then I found a die cut #laterGRAM ( WRMK album made easy Words ), I thought it was a perfect match , in my head it was how Gram was signing off as she heads off on her moped to explore , I added my DIY dot matte finish  and some arrows and a paper clip with ribbon and my card was done .

inside my card I stamped her again as a watermark that you can write over the top and I added a few more dots

I hope Millie Moped has inspired you to go check out her and the other great images you can find at

May God Bless You This Christmas

Hello everyone, and Happy Wednesday to you all!  Today's card was designed for I Brake For Stamps using the Beautiful May God Bless You stamp. I do have a video on both my Ribbon Bow using RRR Shimmer Satin(LOVE THIS STUFF) , and my Glass Flowers using a spray technique to get the color you see.
So for my card base, I used black card stock, cut at 5" x 10" and then scored at 5"
Next I did my 1st layer with black card stock cut at 4 3/4" x 4 3/4", then the Bo Bunny dp is cut at 41/2" x 4 1/2".
Next Layer 2- is cut at 4" x 4" and that is the black card stock. Now Bo Bunny dp is cut at 3/34" x 3 3/4", then added sewing in a green thread. I also added some white gel dots for a different look.

The I Brake for stamps sentiment is stamped in Memento black ink, and then cut out using a different spellbinders dies, and then distressed! I did add some white gel dots to the black die cut piece.

Ribbon bow is created using Really Reasonable Ribbons Beautiful Shimmer Satin in Sage Green color. LOVE LOVE LOVE this ribbon. I just bought 5 rolls of it, that is how much I love it.

Glass Flowers are done using my Glass Flower Technique along with the spray and distress technique. Video can be seen here on my blog Love the way the flowers look with this beautiful Christmas sentiment!
Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!
hugs to all,
Cheryl

I Brake for Fairies on Mushrooms!

I guess I've been in a mushroom state of mind lately. I've used mushroom designs on a whole lotta projects. Hmmm. Maybe they're exercising subliminal magic on my mojo?

Here's my card with Zen Beauty - Hope, one of the wonderful stamps in the Zen Beauties Collection at I Brake for Stamps.

Zen Beauty - Hope was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts) and colored with Copic markers. Black Spica Glitter pen (Copic) was used to add a dot of glitter to the points on each swirl. Clear Spica Glitter pen was used to add glitter to the bubble that Hope is regarding. When the glitter pen was dry, Clear Gelly Glaze pen (Sakura) was used to add a glossy dimensional aspect to the glittery bubble.

Green cardstock was die-cut to create a frame, the frame was temporarily matted without the stamped image, and Bundled Sage Distress ink (Ranger) was sponged over small mushrooms found on the Whimsical Shrooms stencil (The Crafter's Workshop). The same Distress ink was sponged over the Tiny Circles stencil (The Crafter's Workshop). I apparently hadn't cleaned the stencil well at all because the dots came out sort of mushroom colored. I guess that's what's known as a "happy accident".

The card was assembled and I called it done!

I Brake for Stamps has a huge and varied collection of rubber stamps that you ought to check out right now. Click on my badge below to be whisked over to I Brake for Stamps to check out all of the goodies!

oh Bountiul Season!

Hello everyone, Happy Wednesday!
Cheryl here today  sharing my card created for I Brake for Stamps using the Fall Half Sheet. LOVE this set, and all the stamps in it! This little guy is so cute, and love the sentiment I used too!!

I stamped my image in memento black ink and colored with copics. Next I layered with card stock and then added sewing to my image.  The sentiment is also from this beautiful Fall sheet and is also stamped in memento black ink, and then dusted with green and orange.

Embellishments are some random leaves I have had for years, and I hot glued them onto my image. I made a big bow, and added more leaves!

I really had fun making this sweet little fall card! Hope you enjoyed my post for today!!

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!
hugs to all,
Cheryl

I Brake for Gnome Gnote Pads!

Gnomes make me giggle. Bad gnome puns totally amuse me. I needed a new notepad to carry around since I lost mine recently.

This is what happened.

Whenever I see small plain note pads, especially ones with an attached pen, I usually purchase several. I'm at the stage of life that if I don't write something down, I forget it. By extension, I lose the darned note pads all.the.freaking.time. Decorating note pads is fun and practical because they make great gifts. Let me know if you want one and maybe you'll actually get one. That is if I remember.

This decorated Gnote pad features the Digging Gnome from the Gnome Sheet (I Brake for Stamps). The Digging Gnome is one of NINE (9) Gnomes and a mess of mushrooms on that sheet. It's a Gnoteworthy bargain indeed.

The Digging Gnome was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts), fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, and edged with a black marker. He was set aside while I decorated his Gnote pad.

The plain note pad was black gessoed and painted. A piece of heavy-duty cardstock was cut to fit the cover, dry embossed with a music sheet folder, and painted.

White cardstock was die-cut with some mushroom dies and the font was cut as well. The mushroom dies were colored with Copic markers, but white paint was used to add white dots to them. The title letters were painted with paint to match the ground.

The mushrooms, the Digging Gnome, and the title letters were adhered to the painted, stenciled panel with Media Multi-Medium. The same brown paint was used to add some dirt to the Digging Gnome's shovel. The image panel was adhered to the note pad, the edges were sponged with black ink, and then sealed with varnish.

I Brake for Stamps has a huge and varied collection of rubber stamps that you ought to check out right now. Click on my badge below to be whisked over to I Brake for Stamps to check out all of the goodies!

I Brake For Flowers...

{jane bosi}  Happy Monday!  It's time for flowers here on the I Brake For Stamps blog!!  I just can't help it--I love this Kerr Jar image and never tire of looking for new ways to color this beautiful image!

I started by creating a wash of color on the background piece.  then, I colored and trimmed the Kerr Jar image and popped it up on dimensional tape.  It's a great all around image for a birthday greeting, thank you note or just an all around "thinking of you" kind of card!

Have a great day!  Jane

I Brake for Fall/Thanksgiving & Silverware holders.

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday to all!
Today I am sharing the Silverware Holders I created using I Brake for Stamps Sentiment from the Fall Half Sheet Collection. I wanted something a little different than most do. So I used those treat bags, cut them in half, and then decorated with ribbons, burlap, twine, and the beautiful sentiment from I Brake For Stamps. Around the sentiment I stamped the leaves from the same Fall Half Sheet, and stamped in different colors. Love the look!

My entire table setting can be found on my blog. I really enjoyed making all these super fun goodies for Thanksgiving! I do have 5 more to finish up, so I need to get busy :)

Thank you for looking and enjoy your day!
hugs to all,
Cheryl
