I Brake for Flowers!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a "pick me up" card for someone who is ill.

I used one of the flowers from
It's a plate full of stained glass windows with flowers and insects.

I have an embossing folder that matches this image REALLY well so I dug that out and embossed my front panel.  It's difficult to see in the photo but the glass panels are colored in a warm gray.

On the inside I used one of the verses from

I Brake for Giraffes

Hello!  I just received this wonderful set of stamps called Half Sheet 138B and I had to start out with the wonderful giraffe images.

I started by stenciling over some yellow textured cardstock with Distress Oxide inks. I used Fired Brick in the center, and then blended out with Carved Pumpkin and finally Fossilized Amber on the outside.

I then used Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink to stamp the images right over top.  After die cutting the panel, I added this sweet sentiment. I think I am going to use this for non-traditional a baby card.

Here is the entire stamp set. I can’t wait to use the other images!

Thanks for visiting! Happy Stamping!

I Brake for Roses!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a card that I made for someone special.

The verse is from EVERY DAY PHRASES.

My cousin is battling melanoma and after going through years of treatments she decided to create an organization to help first time cancer patients.  She has a 31 business (they sell bags, purses and storage solutions for those who don't know) and her goal is to present each person with a bag filled with comfort items at their first chemo treatment.  She collects items like tissues, snacks, candles, socks, blankets, journals, crosswords, peppermints for upset stomach and cards to name just a few.  Some of these items are for while they're at the treatments and some are for when they are home recovering.  She has been through this so many times so she knows exactly what people would want and need.

Even while facing her own battle she has made this mission...Micheles Mission her main focus.  I am helping out by making handmade cards with inspirational sayings.  This is the first one that I made.  This will go inside one of the bags and hopefully will brighten someone's day a little bit.

I colored this with Arteza Real Brush pens which are a watercolor "marker."

I Brake for Thank You Cards!

Hello!  Today I am sharing two thank you cards.  I started out wanting a sunny and bright, but clean looking card.  I wanted to use just stamps, ink and plain cardstock.

I stamped my flower in yellow, and then used the second generation stamping to fill in the white areas. I know you cannot see that so well in the photos, but it makes a big difference.

For the second card, I wanted a little more going on, so I used a frame of yellow flowers (still using that second generation) but then added an outer frame of black stamping. That was just the bit of drama I was looking for.

The flower comes from Floral Half Sheet set, and here is a link also to the Thank You Flourish sentiment.

Happy Stamping!

I Brake for Crabby Birthdays!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing the card that I made for my sister-in-law's birthday.
She loves the beach so I know she'll think this is cute.

I used SEA CRITTERS complete set.
He can also be found in his own CRAB SET if you prefer.

I love the scales background for nautical cards and I added some stickles to the sand to give it some sparkle.

I Brake for Apple Picking!

Hello!  Apple picking season is just around the corner, and so is back to school. I decided to use this darling image, Miss Rachel Picking Apples, to make a little thank you note for the new teacher.

I watercolored the image, and then decided I just had to paper piece Miss Rachel’s dress.  The sentiment that I added is from Florals Sheet

Are you ready for fall? I don’t think I am yet, but it seems to be coming nonetheless!  Have a wonderful day!

I Brake for Monsters on Halloween!

Hello and happy Saturday!

My daughter and I ran some errands on Thursday and guess what the stores were FULL of??  Halloween decorations.  It's still 2 1/2 months away but apparently it's time to start sharing Halloween cards.  (which is just fine by me because they'e so much fun to make.)

The great thing about the stamps that I used on this card is that none of them are actually Halloween stamps.  Why is that a good thing?  Because.  It means you can use them almost all year 'round.

I used
SMALL CLOUD

The pumpkin came from an image that I've discovered has been discontinued but I have another stamp that I almost trimmed the pumpkin out of that you could easily sub for the one that I used.

You could use Pumpkin and Vine Border.

I made an easel card so that the stone walkway really looks like it leads up to the house.  Little monster is really holding a cake in the actual stamp but I trimmed it out and had him hold a pumpkin.  The monster of a good time could be for a birthday if you leave the cake but I thought it fit for Halloween and Trick-or-Treating with him holding the pumpkin.

The house and one of the clouds is popped up on foam tape so that it has a 3-D look.

I also put yellow stickles on the windows so that it looked like the lights were really on.

The little monster lays flat and the house panel folds down so that it's flat for mailing.

I Brake for Gladiolus!

Did you know that Gladiolus is August’s birth flower?  This is a wonderful flower comes in so many colors. I often will look at images of flowers before I color my stamped image, and for this one, I found I could have used almost any color.

However, I went with a peachy orange color.  This was my absolute favorite color when I was a little girl.  I colored the stamens of the flowers with a fine tipped marker in magenta, so they stood out a little more, and added just a touch of white gel pen.

My stamp is the Jumbo Version of August Gladiolus, but if your prefer that your stamp not take up the entire card front, there is a smaller version available too.

Find them in the store here:

I Brake for Gnomes!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a just for fun card with you. I've really been into mushrooms lately and if they have a cute little gnome or elf to go with them, even better.

I've used

This sheet has so many mushrooms and gnomes to choose from it was hard to select which ones I wanted!

I can't wait to try some of the others.
I love puns and have been thinking of verses I could print from my computer to go with these.  Maybe a birthday or Valentine's card for my husband...
Happy Birthday to a real "fungi!" or There's gnome-one but you for me!
Wouldn't that be cute.
