Stamp the phrase on white cardstock, ink the edges and add to brown cardstock.
Place brads in opposite corners.

Create a card from brown cardstock and add a layer of orange.
Wrap twine around the card, then add the stamped panel on top, slipping several leaves in the upper corner.

Stamp the phrase again on white cardstock and randomly add assorted colors of ink.
Tear the panel and adhere to a panel of kraft cardstock, also torn.
Create the card and wrap with twine.
Add the stamped panel on top with foam adhesives for dimension.

Remember When

Good day, fellow crafters. It's Tamara once again, with a new post where I will be showcasing my latest card created using I Brake for Stamps

Sugar skulls, or calaveras, are a vibrant and meaningful symbol of Día de los Muertos, a Mexican holiday celebrating the memory of loved ones who have passed. These intricately decorated skulls, often adorned with bright colors, flowers, and patterns, represent the blending of life and death, honoring the beauty of remembering those who came before us. The sentiment "Remember When" echoes this tradition, encouraging us to reflect on cherished moments and memories that keep our loved ones alive in our hearts. Just as sugar skulls preserve the essence of those we miss, "Remember When" invites us to treasure the joy and love shared with them.

To create this project, you will need the following:

I Brake for Stamps Skellies Set

Embossing folder: Geometric Pattern

2 piece of White cardstock

and 1 piece of Red Cardstock

Colored Paste (Colors optional)

Dual-Tip Alcohol Markers

Blending Pads

1 Slimline White Card Base

Scissors

Black ink

Liquid Glue

Liquid Shimmer

Stamping Platform

Fine Tip Brush

Foam Tape

Hot Foil Plate and Foil

Slimline die

Focal Image and Sentiment

  • Place and secure white cardstock into the stamping platform
  • Align, ink, and stamp the focal images and sentiment using black ink
  • Use Dual-Tip alcohol markers to color the focal images
  • KEY TIP: Using lighter pressure when applying color and then building up the layers will result in a better-finished result
  • Allow to dry.
  • Cut the focal image out with scissors.
  • Cut the sentiment out with scissors or a label die if available

Center Focal Image

*Optional Method: A heart-shaped hot foil plate, red cardstock, and red foil were used to create the center. This can be substituted using a heart-shaped stencil and ink or red cardstock and a heart-shaped die.

Background Panel

Begin by trimming white cardstock to slimline dimensions using slimline dies and a die-cutting machine. Alternatively, use a paper trimmer or scissors to cut the white cardstock to 3.5" x 8.5".

  • Use white cardstock, colored paste (the color choices are optional), and a blending pad, apply the paste to the card until the desired hue is reached.
  • Once the desired hue is reached allow the background panel to dry completely. This will prevent the paste from being smeared or removed accidentally in subsequent steps.

  • Place the panel into the embossing folder
  • Run the embossing folder through your die-cutting machine based on the manufacturer's recommendations
  • Repeat if the impression does not transfer cleanly, however, do not remove the panel from the folder before you are satisfied so everything remains aligned
  • KEY TIP: The panel MUST be dry before this step or it can stick to the embossing folder and rip when removing

Assembly

  • Use liquid glue to adhere the background panel to the card base.
  • Position all elements onto the background panel to confirm the final position.
  • Use liquid glue to adhere the background panel to the card base.

  • Apply foam tape or pop dots to the back of the sentiment to add dimensions
  • Remove the backing from the foam tape
  • KEY TIP: Add some liquid glue onto the foam tape or before adhering into place. The liquid glue will allow a small opportunity for repositioning before the foam tape adheres to the background panel
  • Once all elements are in place and adhered, use Liquid Shimmer and a fine-tip brush to add sparkle to the card.

Creative Sparks Stamp Set

I just love the beauty and detail of this Dragon stamp. The pictures don't do the 5 x 7 card justice. If you love dragons this is a must have stamp.

Stamps used from I Brake for Stamps:

Other supplies:
Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks Festive Berries, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade.
Blending tools
Stazon Ink
Wide tip Sharpie Gold
Cardstock: Whtie & Black
Gold half pearls
Parchment paper
Stamping Platform

Blend the inks on white card stock, start with the lightest color in the middle. then work out to the darkest color.

Using a stamp platform, with Stazon ink stamp the image of the dragon.

Still working on the platform, I used baking parchment paper with lines over the stamped image to line up the sentiment before stamping. This helps to see if I got the sentiment lined up. Then I stamp the sentiment on the parchment, if it is straight, I carefully remove the parchment and stamp directly on the inked panel.

The inked mat was edged with a Wide tip Sharpie Gold, then mounted on a black mat.

Mr. Bones

Hello! I created a 3D project for today's post. I used the I Brake for Stamps Mr. Bones rubber stamp. Isn't he cute?

I stamped the image on white cardstock using a dye ink. Use a dye ink that will work well with the coloring medium that you are planning to use.

A stamp positioner was very useful to me in stamping this image since this image is very detailed. The stamp positioner allowed me to re-stamp the image since I missed some spots in stamping.

This rubber stamp is available mounted or unmounted. To use the unmounted stamp, adhere the unmounted stamp to the door of the stamp positioner, as you can see on the photo above. I used a glue stick to do this which worked really well. The stamp held on to the door during the stamping and re-stamping. To clean the glue off from the back of the stamp and the stamp positioner door, I just used a wet rag.

I used different coloring mediums to color Mr. Bones. I used color pencils for the base layer. A sharp color pencil was very useful in coloring those tiny areas. I then used an alcohol marker which worked well in coloring the hat since this is the largest part of the image. I also used gel pens for accents, coloring over some of the areas colored with color pencils.

I fussy cut the image leaving a white border around it. I used a craft knife to cut the areas in between Mr.  Bones' arms and body.

I added dimensional glue to some areas and also colored some parts with a shimmer pen.

I adhered Mr. Bones to a 3D black coffin cut with an electric die cutting machine. I added some matting to the front of the coffin for some extra accent.

This 3D coffin can be used as a decor. I forgot to mention that this coffin can be opened to reveal a hidden message or even a candy bar measuring up to ~1/2".

I hope you like today's project.

Boo!

Hi, friends! It's design team member Walter on the blog today with my final Halloween card of this year.  Ghosts, haunted houses, a headless monster . . . this one has them all!  I thought it would be fun to build a scene that's framed by spiderwebs.  What do you think?

Here's what I used to make it:

  • Halloween 3/4 Sheet
  • Halloween Half Sheet #1
  • A2 Black Card Base
  • 3"x4.5" White Card Panel
  • Distress Oxide Inks: Lost Shadow and Hickory Smoke
  • Delicata Silvery Shimmer Metallic Pigment Ink
  • Sakura Black Glaze Pen
  • Sakura Gelly Roll White Gel Pen
  • Silver metallic gel pen
  • Alcohol Markers
  • Ranger Glossy Accents
Here's how I made it:
  • Stamped spider webs onto the card base using silver metallic ink; ran the ink pad around the edges of the card base; set aside to dry.
  • Used the deckle edge blade of my paper trimmer to cut the white card panel.
  • Ink blended the white card panel with Lost Shadow Distress ink; started to blend in the Hickory Smoke around 2/3 of the way down.

  • Stamped the haunted house image onto the card panel with blank ink.
  • Stamped ghost, gravestone, and headless figure onto a scrap of white cardstock with black ink.
  • Colored each of the stamped images with alcohol markers and fussy cut them out.
  • Colored the house image with alcohol markers and white gel pen; colored the moon background of the image with a silver metallic get pen,
  • Adhered the stamped panel onto the card base with double sided foam tape.
  • Adhered down the cut images with double sided foam tape.
  • Outlined images with black glaze pen.
  • Added Glossy Accents to the pumpkin and spider bodies.

What a fun celebration of Halloween!  Fun with just a little touch of spooky.

Thanks for spending some time reminiscing with me today!  See you again soon.
