Camping Carl by Crystal

Hello I Brake For Stamps Friends !!
My name is Crystal Lopez and this is my first post as part of the DT for IBFS , I am so excited to be apart of this fab DT .Now a little about me .. I am a self-taught "Scrappy Girl " as I call myself and I love stamping and coloring with Copic markers , I also like to show how I make my creations , so if ever you want to learn something leave a commit and  I would be glad to tackle it .Let's get started on my first creation for IBFS. Today I am using a stamp called Camping Carl , you can buy this stamp as a single or as a full sheet with other camping images ( links below )

to frame my image I used labels 2 die the biggest frame but I wanted a another layer so what I did was embossed my frame and fussy cut it out ..perfect lay bigger .. I have a Big Shot  so this is how , open all tabs , lay die with cut side down  , then my black paper then the tan embossing mat and then the black plastic embossing shim  , run it thur and now you have a frame bigger than the die , fussy cut out
the top of this photo shows it untrimmed  but the left side and bottom of the frame have been trimmed

next I emboss the wood grain into coredination paper and sand to show the colored core
Tip : this embossing folder also cracks my paper so to solve this I open all my tabs   , clear plate folder with vellum and paper  then clear pad ..and add a layer of vellum inside my folder ( this always stays in so tape it in )

the thread nest is all the rage these days on cards so I have jumped onto the bandwagon and used a thread nest on my card  , I sewed my embossed layer on the front and added some burlap Masculine at its best I think , I did add shimmer pen to my coke can and yellow stickles to my fire pit embers

inside my card I stamped my sentiment and then masked it off and stamped my grid and then sponged on my ink , another wood grain layer here too

one thing you must know about me is that I love to make matching envelopes to go with my cards , I call it eye candy for the postal person lol , this doesn't interfere with the address areas but adds so much , after all first impressions and all that Jazz

I Brake For Thanks

{Jane Bosi}  I saw the idea for this layout somewhere on the world wide web and just knew the grunge bouquet image would be perfect!  This is an easy layout that perfectly fit the thanks so much sentiment, but could easily accomodate any type of message!  To finish things off, I used a layered die cut butterfly and some sequins--easy peasy!!  Thanks so much for stopping by!!!  Have a great day!  Jane

I just got these adorable PEEKING BUNNIES and couldn't wait to use them.
Isn't this such a sweet image for Easter/Spring?!

I Brake for the Ocean

Memories of the Ocean 2014
Welcome everyone to I Brake for Stamps Blog, this is Patricia from Wisconsin and it is a beautiful day here sun is shining snow is melting the temp are in the 40’s and I’m loving this. Although I love all the seasons and my card make me want to go by the ocean. Over at the store you can fine all kinds of stunning scenery stamps. This stamp is called Cape Hatteras North Carolina (large), this stamp is a picture of that light house. These are some of my favorite kinds of cards to do.

Memories of the Ocean 2014 r
The first thing I did was stamp my image on Eclipse printable paper, this paper has a sticky adhesive and it makes it easy to mask you image and you can use the paper more then once. Then I cut the image out. After that I used several inks to color the stamp.

Memories of the Ocean 2014 m
The different inks I used to create this scene. The makers you see on the right side are Mementos markers colors bamboo leaves, rich cocoa, cottage ivy, desert sand and lady bug. I applied those inks right to the stamp. Stamped the image on my card stock and after a couple minutes applied the Eclipse paper over the image.

Memories of the Ocean 2014 l
Doing the background I used my sponges and a template. The inks used are Brilliance Mediterranean blue, ice blue, sky blue, orange, coral, yellow and beige. Some opaque white and clear glaze from Sakura.

Memories of the Ocean 2014 i
Sentiment is from IBFS it is called footprints in the sand, thought it was perfect for this stamp. I cut the sentiment out with spellbinders deckled rectangles large. Used Versafine majestic blue to stamp the sentiment. I sponged around the edges with Brilliance Mediterranean blue ink, the die cut is from Memory box called lavish branch. Flower centers is pearl pen color black and the dots is pearl pen blue.
