I Brake for Kittens!

Hello everyone!  My family just adopted 2 baby kittens, and however fun and adorable they are, that fact has kept me away from my craft desk quite a bit.  So I wanted to make a little kitten themed card today!

I colored the Kitty in a Can image and die cut it out.  I then used some scraps of coordinating patterned paper and some hot pink cardstock to make this fun layout.  The sentiment is from Florals Sheet.

Do you have any pets and do you use pet related stamps?

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

I Brake for Mums!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a floral card that I made with LARGE MUM.
I decided to take artistic license and have multiple colored flowers on my mum. It may not be that way in nature but I like it on my card!

I Brake for Stamps has the BEST floral selection!
I have about a million of them. Love them all!

I Brake for Irises!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a thank you card.

A friend recently did me a nice favor and I wanted to thank her.

I used IRIS on my card.

I also used a verse from Every Day Phrases.
If you love Irises like I do then take a peek here...

I think I Brake for Stamps probably has the most extensive and prettiest selection of flower stamps of any company out there.

I Brake for Summer Flowers!

Hello! I am sharing a pretty Thank You card made with some flowers from this great set called Florals Sheet.

I used the flowers as a two step stamp. I stamped the solid portion in pinks, and then used an old fashioned stamp positioner to get perfect placement of the outlines.  I added a couple accents using a marker and a white gel pen.  I trimmed these out and placed them over my die cut.

I hope you have some time for stamping this summer!

I Brake for Garden Pavers!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm not sharing a paper craft.  At school we started a community garden this year and someone donated some pavers.  Any adult staff that was interested was invited to paint one for the little patio they built.

At first I wasn't going to participate because I figured I'd become obsessed with Pinterest trying to find the perfect idea for my rock.  Then, one night I had a dream that I painted 3 big mushrooms. I actually remembered the dream when I woke up and started thinking about what I could do to bring my idea to life.

I had just got the Shroom to Grow stamp and wondered if it would be possible to stamp on a rock.  I figured the worst that could happen would be that it  wouldn't work and I would just have to paint over it and start from scratch.

The lines came out a little thick because I pressed REALLY hard to be sure the entire image would come out.  Then...I just started sketching around him.

I went through my stamp book to see what other images might be cute on my rock and came across WINDOW BOX FRAME.  After stamping that image I drew a gnome inside of it.

Next, I came across this little watering can and bird (unfortunately I realized too late that this one is discontinued) and imagined that they belonged to the gnome.

I drew a door in on the last mushroom I added.  The gnome needed a neighbor right?? lol!

Lastly I just colored everything in.
The pavers measured 11" x 17."

I used copic markers rather than acrylics because I don't have a tiny enough paintbrush to paint some of the small details. It was a little streaky but I like the way it turned out.

I Brake for Summertime Fruit!

Hello!  Yesterday, I had a lot of fun playing with this cute fruit stamp set.  We have been eating wonderful cherries and watermelons, so it seems like the perfect time of year for this card.

I colored the Fun Fruits, set of 4, with alcohol markers.  I did want to mention how I choose colors.  I colored just the fruits first and kept the markers that I was using out on my desk.

Then, when I went to color the rest of the frames, I tried to pick only markers I already had out.  This is the easiest way, for me, to keep my cards harmonious and not too busy.  I think I only used 8 markers total.

The sentiment is from Florals Sheet.

Have a great day!

I Brake for Graduating Ballerinas!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a slightly unorthodox graduation card with you.
My daughter's best "dance" friend graduated last week and we went to her party last night.

I thought the verse in this set was perfect for a young girl heading off to college.  She wants to be an occupational therapist.  Go Ally!

We met Ally and her mom when they transferred to Makena's dance studio.  We all became fast friends and they did several duos and trios together each year for about 6 yrs.

On the inside I used another image from the half sheet and also the phrase

I used some Stickles on her tutu to give her lots of sparkle.

The girls duet...No the moms didn't plan our outfits along with them but it made for a fun picture!

Image may contain: 4 people, including Makena Matarese and Renee Matarese, people smiling, people standing and shoes

I Brake for Silly Monsters!

Hello!  Today I am using my favorite Carmen Medlin monster stamp, from the Clueless set.  This time I paired it with a funny saying called Blessed Are They.

I colored the monster using alcohol markers.  I then used Art Glitter Glue and applied some loose glitter to parts of the monster.  When that was dry, I fussy cut him out.

I used some scraps of matching patterned paper to create my layout.  I already have the perfect person in mind to send this card to!  They will really get a chuckle out of it! I also have some plans to use this sentiment in a scrapbook.

Hope you have time for stamping today!
