I Brake for Lions!

Hello from designer, Heidi!  If you are looking for a stamp that makes a statement all on its own, you might be interested in the Lion Face stamp I am using today.  I enjoyed making this card so much, this stamp has amazing detail that stamps so easily!

I first made a loose watercolor background.  I stamped the lion right over it and hand cut it out.  I had this cool paper from a camping patterned paper pack that it happened to coordinate perfectly.  I thought this sentiment circle, from this sentiment set, looked like something that might be stamped onto a box for your safari trip - so that worked out great, too.

If you like this style of stamp, also check out the coordinating Prowling Cougar & Bear Square stamps!   The I Brake for Stamps store is always open for your to browse!

I Brake for Morning Glories!

Hello from design team member, Heidi!  Did you know that one of the September Birth Flowers is Morning Glory?  It makes sense to me, as you see them blooming in late August and through September where I live.  They are one of my favorite flowers, they are so showy!

I used the Morning Glories Border stamp on my card.  I stamped it twice and colored it with alcohol markers, adding Nuvo Glitter drops to the centers.   I hand cut them on one side then applied them over my blue cardfront, already stamped with the Rising of the Sun sentiment.  I then trimmed off the excess white cardstock on either side.

I had practiced my coloring on another image first, so I cut one of those flowers out and added it as a little embellishment.

Thanks for visiting the I Brake for Stamps blog!  Come back often to see what the entire design team is up to!  The store is always open!

I Brake for Dragonflies!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a card that I made using the beautiful image from I Brake for Stamps called Dragonfly Stained Glass Large.

I completely hooked on the stained glass series.
This is one of my newest additions to my collection.
I used Stickles on the wings to give them shimmer like a real dragonfly.

For now the inside is blank because I didn't need it for any special event.  Who knows...it may wind up a birthday card, get well, sympathy...maybe just a "hello" I miss you.

I Brake for Clueless!

Hello from design team member, Heidi.  I have a funny card to share today.  I really did laugh out loud when I saw the sentiment in this set called Clueless.

I found a card on Pinterest with a fun way to use up scraps. I altered this layout to work for my stamped image and using an embossing folder for the kraft background.  I actually had so much fun coloring this stamp, I just can’t wait to color it again in different ways.

Hope you have time for stamping today!

I Brake for Gold, Embossed Roses!

Hello from design team member, Heidi.  I like to keep cards like this on hand for everyday use.  Something pretty that can be made in different colors. I often will use something like this to enclose school photos sent to family members, or add a note to a friend.

I stamped the June Rose stamp four times onto yellow cardstock.  I heat embossed them with gold embossing powder.  I trimmed the panel down to size to fit over my die cut.  The sentiment and card base are actually a very lovely color of eggplant purple.  It is a bit unusual, but I really like it.

If you like this stamp, check out this card for another idea of how to use it.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Happy Crafting!

Magnolia Sympathy

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a sympathy card that meant a lot to me.
My best friend from high school lost her dad a couple weeks ago and I made three cards...one for her, one for her sister and one for her mom.

I'll share one of the others two weeks from now.

I used three stamps from I Brake for stamps.
and

I used two cross dies from Spellbinders.

On the inside I stamped a part of the magnolia in the corner.

Caren's father was very special to me growing up.  I spent so much time at her house with her and her parents.  They were such kind, loving people.
He will be missed by many.
