I Brake for Brides

Hello friends. It's Monica from Taylormadecards4u. I have several weddings coming up this summers so I thought it was time to start getting some of my wedding cards completed.  Several of my family members are going to the wedding, so I am tasked with coming up with different card designs for each of us to use.

I love this image from I Brake for stamps called Silhouette Bride. It is a classic image that can be used again and again.

I started out by stamping my image onto some card stock using my stamping platform. I then fussy kit the image.  I wanted the background to have some texture, so I embossed some white card stock and added some lace.

I added a simple sentiment as well. There are several images available that would be great for wedding cards. Be sure to check out this section over at the shop.

Thanks for stopping by!

I brake for Skyscrapers!

Hello crafty friends. It's Monica from Taylormadecards4u I am here sharing a city scene card I created using two stamps from the Full Sheet Travel.

I added this little gentleman looking up at the tall sky scrapers just wondering what he is getting himself into!

The little vintage gentleman is called man facing left. He was a great addition to my City scene and i love how he is looking up at those tall skyscrapers!

I also found a great sentiment sticker to add to my scene which fits perfect for this little character!  This stamp is a perfect addition to many scenes. There is even one facing right

I Brake for Flowers and Butterflies!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a card that I made using
HALF SHEET NUMBERS AND FLOWERS
and
STAINED GLASS APPLE BLOSSOMS LARGE.

I only used the flower portion of the stained glass stamp.
I colored and trimmed out the flowers.  I placed them on an panel that I embossed with some flowers.  I didn't complete the inside yet.  I'm waiting to see what occasion it will be used for.  I think it would be appropriate for so many celebrations...birthday, bridal shower, anniversary or even as a sympathy card.

I bent the butterfly wings up and only glued the body down so that it looked like they were flying off the page.

I used some Nuvo Crystal Drops in the flower centers and added some stickles to the flowers and butterflies.

I Brake for a Happy Couple

Hello friends, it's Monica from Taylormadecards4u. I was recently watching a you tube video where someone created a mock Cabinet Card. This of course got my creative juices flowing!

I re created the background of this old Cabinet Card so that i could stamp my image. The stamp that I am using is from I Brake for Stamps called Happy Couple and it is part of there "Photo" collection.

It took me several tries to get the sizing just right. I used Pic Monkey to help re create this background.

Once i had the perfect creation, I downloaded it and re sized it on my computer. I then printed it out and stamped my image.

This card was a lot of fun to create! Hopefully I have given you some ideas for your vintage cards.

I Brake for Boathouses!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a card that I made for a co-worker.
She and her husband run a Marina, hotel, pool club and some shops in Wilson, N.Y. besides her being a teacher.  This spring they added a restaurant, The Wilson Boathouse, to their "family."

I've used a couple of stamps from MS97 FULL PLATE from

The new restaurant is almost directly north of Buffalo on Lake Ontario.

Here's the inside where I personalized it.

The rocks and seaweed/fish are also from the set.
The other items are die cuts.

I Brake for Grunge!

Hello Crafty friends. It's Monica from Taylormadecards4u. I am here today sharing a card I created for Mother's Day. This card was so fun to create as I love creating grungy cards.

I used the Grunge Letter Flower and Grunge Circle stamps from I brake for stamps. The Grunge Circle stamp was perfect for my background.

I started out by adding some washi tape and distress ink to my background. I then added some texture paste using the Tim Holtz tile stencil.

Once the texture paste was dry, I added my grunge.  I outlined my washi tape with a distress crayon and stamped my background with the grunge circle.

I then adhered my film strip die along with my green foliage. finally, I adhered my grunge letter flowers and glued some white pearls in the center. finally, I added a ticket and letters to spell out Mom.

Thanks for stopping by!

Through the Eyes of a Child

Hello and happy Saturday.
Today I'm sharing a card that I wish I didn't have to make.
My sister has friends whose son has Cancer and is failing right now.  They don't think that he'll make it through the weekend.  She asked me for a card ahead of time so that she'd have it the moment she needs it.  She'd gladly put it through a shredder if a miracle happens though.

I've used two verses from I Brake for Stamps on my card.

On the front I used

Eyes of a Child

This card was so difficult to make.  I picked out paper and put it away three times because it didn't seem right.  I had the verse stamped and matte cut in a different color and tossed them.  It's not easy to be inspired when you need a card for this reason.

On the inside I used
With Sympathy

The little boy's name is Cooper which is why I put the C in the heart.

Here's a close up of the beautiful verse...
