I Break for Good Gossip ..

Hello IBFS fans !!
It's Crystal here and today's card I am using an image from Seniors Full sheet from the I Brake for Stamps store . Do you ever look at a stamp and wonder what the image is doing  , well today I could just imagine the little old lady trying to listen in on some good gossip, lol .The sentiment I came up with for this card is Say Whatt !! I used my Silhouette and a sketch pen to write it and then die cut it out ,I like to do this when I don't have a stamp to say what I want it to express .

IMG_3853IMG_3859IMG_3858
I added a pearl necklace with Viva pearl pen
IMG_3854
inside my card I used the same image and stamped in same color of card stock so you can still write over the top

I Brake for Bister and a Woodsy Scene

Good morning all our Braker Fan's, I am back today with a project I worked on over the week-end using Bister's and various stamps from IBFS.

Okay now let me see if I can explain what I did....first I used some blue and yellow Bister's sprinkled them on a transparency sheet and spritzed with water next I crumbled a piece of plastic wrap and dipped it in to the Bister's adding light coloring on my white card stock.....next I stamped the larger tree with Frayed Burlap distress ink masked that one and then stamped the smaller trees .....next I stamped the grass from Half Sheet 137A with Pine Needle distress ink and lastly added the Silhouette Bear also using Frayed Burlap.....next I did a few clouds and sun using Broken China, Mustard Seed and Worn Lipstick distress inks.....this layer was mounted on and embossed piece of green card stock with a little burgundy twine added.....and I then mounted it all on a piece of rust colored card stock.

This is really my first scene card which I have been happy enough to share so I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I did making it.

Till next Tuesday, Beth signing off.

Hugs
Beth

I Brake For Birdies

{jane bosi}
Happy Monday, Brakers!

Today, I have another bister inspired project to share!  Again, an experiment.....I created this background using my gelli plate, water color paper, some distress inks and bisters!  To complete my project I added an eclectic bunch of stamps right from the I Brake For Stamps store!

Subtly, you can see that I decorated the two card stock strips using background images and ink.  On one I used a stamp from Textures--these are great images to have around!  You just never know when you are going to want to add some extra texture to a project.  They work great for mixed media canvas art, also!  They are like rice or pasta in your pantry---you can always use them!

Additionally, I used Number Background.  It added the vintage effect I was looking for.  Right under the greenish card stock, you can also see that I used a beautiful lace image from one of my all time favorites, Lace Borders! This set is also a huge staple in my arsenal!  So many beautiful images!

Finally, from the brand new sheet, Birds, Sheet 141A, this beautiful image of birds and blooms!  This is a great sheet and I'm excited to experiment and create with it!

Have a fantastic and creative day!  Don't forget to be awesome!

I Brake For Compassion

I made this card for a friend who is in the hospital with cancer.  I used two I Brake For Stamps sentiment stamps on this one.  The one on the front of the card is "Because You're Hurting" and the one on the inside is "Faith, Hope, Love".  I hope my friend and his wife will find some comfort when they get this card.  These stamps just seem to say what I wanted to say to them.

 Thanks for visiting with us today.  We love to read your comments.  I hope you will come visit I Brake For Stamps for your stamping needs.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

I Brake for Motor Cycles ....

Hello IBFS fans !!!

Crystal here and today I made a masculine card , I use to have such a hard time with masculine cards until I discovered the formula.... Texture  , Muted color , and Subtle bling  instead of glitter ,try wink of stella, I used glossy accents to add shiny bling. I used an image from Senior Full sheet , I chose to use the man on the motor cycle for this card .

my texture is a diamond plate layer that I made by using stick glue to adhere aluminium foil to card stock and the I die cut the fishtail banner and then embossed with a Time Holtz Diamond plate folder  I chose a graffiti paper background and went with rusty orange card base , I added glossy accents to headlight and wink of stella to all the metal for subtle bling , guys like shiny chrome and diamond plate , both are shiny bling so see you can add bling to a guys card and still look manly , I used a EK chain punch to add more interest and adhered it with tiny staples. , I used a script die for a sentiment .

I Brake for Big Eyed Beauties !!

Hello IBFS fans !!

It's Crystal here and today's card is using a cute Big Eyed Beauty from Randi Dandi series #2 sheet  , I tried a fun technique for today's card, I am stepping outside my comfort zone here ... I heat embossed my image and the watercolored it , my first attempt  , watercolor is not supposed to be perfect ,it's suppose to look organic with puddles of color , well that's my take on it , I can see I will be doing more practice  , I hope this has inspired you to step outside your comfort zone and try a new technique  , well new to you anyway ...

IMG_3788IMG_3791IMG_3790IMG_3789

I used watercolor paper and Tim Holtz ink pads and a paint brush and water to get this look , my flower is handmade from crepe paper and I inked the edges and added fruit punch stickles   ,  the leaf is a MFT-399 layered leafs die, my Happy Birthday  is an Impression Obsession die DIE234-M

I Brake For Wonderful

{jane bosi}

Happy Monday, Brakers!!  Today, bister meets distress ink and BOOM!  I'm a pinterest addict, I admit it.  I saw a card similar to mine and thought three things 1) I have that die! 2) Bister would create a fabulous version and 3) I'm gonna CASE that!

For this project, I used specialty paper such as the Stampinback Paper found in the IBFS store.  I cut the die twice.  Once from the specialty paper and once from coordinating cardstock.  My background includes yellow bister---which I notice takes on a much more earthy tone when overwatered ;)  I've also used Barn Door distress ink that I watered down and dropped onto the surface with a pipette.

Working with the yellow bister on the die cut, I sprinkled the powder randomly on different leaves and then spritz with water.  After allowing the piece to dry, I added the distress inks direct to the paper.  I did not spritz with water because I wanted the two inks to remain separate vs blending.

To finish things off, I added Wonderful in black ink so it pops right off the page!

Have a great day and don't forget to be awesome!

Sympathy Dogwoods

Hello and happy Saturday!

This is an exciting day for me...as you read this I'm at my daughter's first dance competition of the season.  She's 14 and has been dancing for 11 years.  This is her 7th year competing.

My sister is one of my biggest customers when it comes to my cards.  She recently told me she was out of sympathy cards and asked me to put some together for her.  I always love I Brake For Stamps images and verses for beautiful sympathy cards.

On this card I used Dogwood Blossoms and colored it with copic markers.
The embossing folder is called With Sympathy from Darice.

I Brake For Bistered Flowers

{jane bosi}
Happy Monday, Brakers!  I have a sunny flower card to share....it is near freezing and gray where I am so, I really need this project to rain a little sunshine in my soul!

I created my background using bisters and an ink dip technique.  I started by scattering some green bisters on my nonstick craft sheet.  After adding water, I dipped the water color paper into the wet colors.  When using a dip technique, allow the inks to dry between dips.  This creates layers of color--which I find more interesting.  After the green was dry, I repeated the same steps with yellow bisters.

Finally, I added several flower images from Floral Half Sheet 148B.  To add color to my florals, I again used my craft sheet and scribbled various colors of distress markers.  Then, I picked up color with my aqua brush and layered it on.

Go on, with ya!  Get inky now and don't forget to be awesome!
