I Brake For...Pie And Desserts!

Hello stamping friends - Nancy here today!  Do you love pie?  Desserts?  Sweet things?

This delicious stamp is called Pie And Desserts and can be found here.

So...true confessions here ....I never met a dessert I did not like!  My husbands favorite pie is cherry and this card will probably go to him.  I love lemon meringue, but would never turn down a slice of cherry pie!

I stamped the image with memento ink and colored it with copics.  A stitched square die was used for the main panel and an angled stitched/scalloped die for the bottom of the red mat piece.  I could not resist putting the red gingham ribbon on the card and I really like how the red pops against the kraft cardstock.   The enamel dots in the corners were pink so I used a dark red copic marker to change the color to coordinate with the card.    The "steam" over the pie was highlighted with a stardust gel pen to add a bit of shine to it.  Here is a close up.

Please stop by the IBFS store to find this and thousands of other stamps.  I know you will find something to your liking!

I Brake for Masked Ladies!

It's the end of August, the weather here in New Jersey has been wonderfully cool, squirrels have been very busy gathering acorns, and some leaves are beginning to fall. All this means is that Autumn will be here soon, which means that Halloween rapidly approacheth! Hurray!

Here's my card featuring Mardi Gras Beadsone of the Rick St. Dennis rubber stamps that is exclusively available at I Brake for Stamps.

I know the stamp's name is Mardi Gras Beadsbut I think she's perfect for Halloween too! Mardi Gras Beads was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts) onto white cardstock. The image panel was die-cut with a rectangle die then colored with Copic markers to match the wonderful Midnight Masquerade 8x8 patterned paper pad (Graphic 45).

Three different papers from the pad were layered, then the edges were distressed to reveal the white core. The card front was adhered to an off-white card and the image panel was adhered.

I Brake for Stamps has a huge and varied collection of rubber stamps that you ought to check out right now. Just so you know, I Brake for Stamps ships internationally!

I Brake For Dandelions!

Hi everyone! It's Monica from Taylormadecards4u. I am here today to share with you one of the easiest ways to create a vintage inspired card. This technique can be accomplished with most any type of stamp.  Today I am working with the stamp called Large Dandelion.

I often go to used bookstores and look for old books. I especially like to find old dictionaries. A while ago, I found a small one that had the perfect pages for 5" x 7" cards.  I like to find a page that is appropriate to the theme and the word "silhouette" was perfect.

Silhouette stamps work best as you can stamp with black ink and it easily covers the words on the page. The stamps make a bold statement and the dictionary page is not the focal point, but the background.

The sentiment is called "The Path" and is a perfect match for this stamp as it measures up nicely next to the stem. The sentiment letters were a bit thin, so I did use clear embossing powder to darken up the ink just a bit.  I matted the dictionary page onto some black card stock and mounted that onto two pieces of designer paper.

It is a very easy technique, which produces a great vintage inspired card.

I Brake For...Sympathy Cards

Greetings, gentle Sunday readers. Sympathy cards are never easy cards to create or to make, they are even less easy to give. My extended family has recently suffered one loss and another part of that family is getting ready to experience another. While making cards with the express intent to be sympathy cards isn't a fun concept, you can work on a beautiful project and turn it into a sympathy card at almost the last minute, this is what I did with this card.

I heat embossed, with gold embossing powder, the Butterfly Background stamp from I Brake For Stamps. Then I colored the butterflies and surrounding paper with Zig Real Clean Color Brush Markers. This was a fun and very rewarding project to work on, it went rather quickly and the results were incredibly beautiful.

I didn't have any intention, when I started working on this project, to turn it into a sympathy card. However, once I was finished with it I kept looking at it and realized that this might be a cheerful thing to send to someone who needs cheering up. I kept thinking about the family members that I would be needing to send sympathy cards too.

I was fortunate that I found the colored paper in my stash that matched the butterflies and background, I assure you that this hadn't been planned, I wish I HAD planned it! Then I went searching through my stash for a sympathy sentiment. I also heat embossed this, using the same gold embossing powder. For a final touch, I added a bit of gold embroidery thread. I hope that the result is that this card sends a beautiful smile to a loved ones face through their time of heartache.

This is just one stamp example of the many that would make perfect sympathy cards found at the I Brake For Stamps page. There are some incredibly LOVELY stamps you could use to brighten up a loved one's day!

I hope I have inspired you, and that you find something that helps loved ones through their more difficult times.

I Brake For.....COWS!

Hello stampers - Nancy here today with another super cute card to show you.

The stamp and sentiment are called Cow Set and can be found here.  It is also part of a larger set called  Animals Complete Set which includes five cute animal stamps and a bunch of coordinating sentiments.  That full set can be found here.

A number of different elements went into this card.  The base was embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder.  Next, a semi circle cross stitched edge die was used for the sky, a cloud die for the cloud, the fence is a silhouette cut file and the grass was created with an EK Success punch.

The cow was colored with copics. The head was stamped again, colored, cut and popped up over the original image.

I hope you stop by the IBFS store - there are many new stamps available, as well as thousands more.

I Brake for Love Birds!

I was feeling rather birdbrained, so I decided to create an ATC featuring the Love Bird ATC rubber stamp available at I Brake for Stamps.

Here it is!

My single Love Bird was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts) onto Neenah cardstock. After googling Love Bird images, I decided on my Love Bird's coloration and colored him with the appropriate Copic markers. The lonely Love Bird's eye, beak, and talons were coated with several layers of glaze pen to add dimension and shine to them.

The image panel was matted with black cardstock, adhered to patterned paper, then matted again with black cardstock.

I Brake for Stamps has a huge and varied collection of rubber stamps that you ought to check out right now. Just so you know, I Brake for Stamps ships internationally!

I Brake For...Buildings!

Hello, my faithful Sunday followers!

Today's card is coming to you using a stamp that came from a previous set I have showcased here. Do you remember my cat card I posted a few weeks ago? That sheet of rubber contained not only these ADORABLE cats, but it also contained two building stamps. Today I am using one of those building sets!

This card, using the Cats and Buildings set, was such a fun card to put together. I imagined that these buildings were probably in some Italian city, perhaps Venice, and because of that I knew I could color them any colors I wished! I LOVE beautiful and unique buildings. I colored these buildings in with Copic markers and then fussy cut them out, it was REALLY easy and fun!

For the background, I went with a "galaxy" type of sky. I had recently taken a watercolor class on galaxy and moon techniques, and I was excited to practice those skills on this card. I used a combination of pan and tube watercolors. When it was dry I used a combination of a white Gelli Roll pen and white ink to create the stars. I ran this panel through my die cutting machine to create the stitched edge and finally, I found a sentiment in my stash that I loved and white heat embossed it.

This card was such a breeze and so relaxing to color. I absolutely LOVE this Cats and Buildings set, I will most likely be using the other building set in the near future. :D I strongly encourage you to play with this set, and to search similar terms to see what related products I Brake For Stamps has, with well over 3,000 stamp sets there are SO MANY to choose from!
