Stamping on a Art Canvas

Greetings! Today I am excited to share this mini canvas I created using some of my favorite I brake for Stamps stamps.  I love creating mini canvases and art journal pages as it gives me a chance to play with different stamps and different mediums.

Supplies needed:

I Brake for Stamps Music Sheets Background

I Brake for Stamps The Old and New

I Brake for Stamps Art of Chemistry Background

5x5 canvas, colored tissue paper, paper doily, film strip, Alphabet Stickers, black archival ink, mod podge, versamark, patina embossing powder.

Start by stamping your I Brake for Stamps Music Sheets Background  and I Brake for Stamps Art of Chemistry Background repeatedly onto colored tissue paper ( mine was blue)

Crumple tissue paper to create wrinkly texture.

Tear and adhere pieces of tissue paper onto your canvas with Mod Podge.

Continue piecing tissue paper under canvas is covered.  Trim center from doily and adhere to top corner of your canvs.

Adhere film strip to your canvas over doily.

Add "Be You" with alphabet stickers.

Stamp  lady from I Brake for Stamps The Old and New and emboss with patina embossing powders.

You an see the dimension embossing your lady adds to your canvas.
Stamp and emboss "dare to be Different" from the I Brake for Stamps The Old and New stamp set to finish your canvas.

Making Backgrounds

 Hi Creative Fans!

Today I'm sharing a background idea - works for journal pages, card fronts, index cards, atc's - really whatever you want to create!

The best thing is that you can use up your patterned paper scraps and as you know I hate throwing any pretty bit of paper away!

There are some wonderful patterned paper pads available in store designed by Pam Bray - I save all the left over bits for using as backgrounds - it's quick and easy and looks effective - minimal supplies required so everyone can do this!

CLICK HERE to see the paper packs in store!

Gather your paper scraps - works best with all different sized pieces - grab your backing item whether it be a journal page or card front - you can use "mop up" pages and pieces of card - gives some extra grunge and interest to the page. My journal page had been used to "clean" excess paint from my brayer so I had some colour on the background.
If you have a plain page you might want to gesso it.

Adhere your scraps over the page - use glue or gel medium whatever is your fav!
Rub white gesso or paint over the patterned papers to dull out the colors - just a really thin layer - I use my fingers because it allows the layer to be thin and translucent! And then grab a charcoal pencil and color all around the edges of the patterned paper, smudge with your finger - love the dimension this adds. You now have a great background to add a focal stamp, sentiment and any other embellishments you like!

Thank You Cards

Hello from design team member, Heidi.  I have a quaint notecard to share with you today. I liked the clear and bold Thanks sentiment from Pam Bray’s Fall Rubber Stamp sheet, so I decided to make this card a little more clean and simple.

I stamped a couple of the small stamps from the I Brake for Stamps Stained Glass set called MS89 Full Plate on watercolor paper and embossed with white powder.  I watercolored these with bright colors and some shimmer from Perfect Pearls powder.  I then just cut them out.

I did add a few clear Nuvo drops to the panel, they are a little hard to see in the photos, but I thought they balanced out the focal point nicely.

Super easy and fun card for summer!

Creating with Paper Scraps

 Hi Stamping Fans!

Today I am sharing a couple of snippet rolls I whipped up with scraps!

I've been wanting to create one of these for ages - these are just the most perfect thing to make to use up all of your scraps, excess stamped images, bits & pieces in general - perfect for those of us that just cannot bear to throw anything away - even the tiniest bit of paper!

I had lots of fun delving through my scraps and excess stamped Blank Page Muse images!
I used offcuts of patterned papers designed by Pam Bray available in store along with all the fab rubber stamps by various artists!
I had bits and pieces of background papers/tissue papers using BPM stamps so they were perfect.
As you can see I ran the metre long strip through the sewing machine just to doubly secure everything!

I had so much fun - I have some base strips all ready to create even more of these wonderful snippet rolls! Remember you can add stickers, charms, buttons - any embellishments you have to make your strips even more decorated! Or add extras when you cut off "snippets" to use on your creations!

Water Spritz Cards

Hello from design team member, Heidi. I hope you are doing well!

I don’t know if this easy background technique already has a name, it doesn’t need one, but I called it Glossy Spritz, for the sake of the blog title.

Basically, I brayered dye ink on glossy paper.
You could add it direct-to-paper if you want.
Next, I spritzed it with water and used my heat gun to dry.
I repeated the process, as needed, to get an interesting look.
I think it looks best with multiple colors of ink, but it looks really neat regardless, more dramatic than with regular cardstock.

For each card, I decided to stamp right over top of the background with Archival Black ink.  I just chose very different stamps for each card based on how the background was “feeling” to me.

Honesty, the biggest trick to making this card is waiting for the black ink to dry so you don’t smudge it.  I hope you might want to try it today as it is so fun and easy.

Here are the stamps I used for these cards:

Animals from MS110 Full Plate in the I Brake for Stamps shop.

Sentiment from Inspirational Phrases in the I Brake for Stamps shop.

Thank You Word Art from the Blank Page Muse Shop.

Flowers from Flower & Bird Sketches from the Blank Page Muse Shop.

Wildflower Greeting Card

Greetings! Today I am excited to share this elegant wildflower greeting card I created using my Stamps from I Brake for Stamps. I chose to use only whites and greys for my card and just love the elegance that those colors create together! This card would be perfect for any occasion!

Supplies needed:

I Brake for Stamps Music Sheets Background

I Brake for Stamps The Old and New

Cardstock (white, grey, plaid), Ink (grey archival) flower button, Liquid pearls, gemstones, ribbon

Start by stamping your I Brake for Stamps Music Sheets Background  onto white card stock with grey ink. Matte your stamped music sheet onto grey card stock and adhere to card base.

Stamp wildflower from the I Brake for Stamps The Old and New stamp set onto white paper. (I stamped a few extras for creating additional cards)

Trim your stamped wildflower and double mat with grey and plaid card stock.  Adhere the matted stamped image onto your card.

Embellish your card with gemstones, ribbon and flower.  Add liquid pearls to the center of your flower to finish off your card.
