I Brake for Cardinals in Dogwoods!

Hello and happy Monday!

Today I'm sharing another bird card that I made for my friend's dad. Her mother recently passed and she asked for some bird themed cards to send to her dad. She had a special request that one have a cardinal.

For those of you who don't know, there is an old tale that says a cardinal is a representative of a loved one who has passed. When you see one, it means they are visiting you. They usually show up when you most need them or miss them.

I colored her as a female since it was her mom that has passed.
I love the dimension on this card. I used foam to pop up the flowers and bird in different places to make it look more realistic.

I Brake for Dogwood Blossoms & Video Tutorials

Hello everyone, Cheryl here with a card I created for I Brake For Stamps, using the Beautiful "Dogwood Blossoms" Stamp. LOVE this beauty! Super easy to color, and I really enjoyed using the blues and yellows here.

So my card was created for SCS Color challenge yesterday! I tried to get the blues as close as possible, so I did have to mix 3 colors to do so...hehehehee I do love the way they turned out!

I stamp the Beautiful Dogwood Blossoms stamp in memento black ink, and then colored them up using copic markers BG09,BG72,B18 , those were used for the blues on the flowers. Next I used Y08, & YR31 for the centers. I then added some stickles to give some glitz!
The layers I cut a 12 x 6 black card stock, then scored at 6" to create my 6 x 6 card.
Next I cut another black at 5 3/4" x 5 3/4". then yellow Echo park dp at 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". set aside to sew later. Next  black layer was cut at 5" x 5" and then the blue design paper at 4 3/4" x 4 3/4", set this aside to sew later. Last layer was cut at 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" , then the yellow dp was cut at 3 1/4" x 3 1/4", now I take and sew each panel.
Embellishments- I added some white gel dots, Yellow ribbon, big pearl, and some green brads to complete my card for today.

I love that all the flowers are blooming right now, its so nice to see, after what seemed to be a long winter. I Brake for stamps carries so many beautiful flower stamps, and even some NEW Releases, that can be found HERE!~ All Flowers can be found HERE!

Sympathy Dogwoods

Hello and happy Saturday!

This is an exciting day for me...as you read this I'm at my daughter's first dance competition of the season.  She's 14 and has been dancing for 11 years.  This is her 7th year competing.

My sister is one of my biggest customers when it comes to my cards.  She recently told me she was out of sympathy cards and asked me to put some together for her.  I always love I Brake For Stamps images and verses for beautiful sympathy cards.

On this card I used Dogwood Blossoms and colored it with copic markers.
The embossing folder is called With Sympathy from Darice.

I Brake For Dogwood Blossoms

My sister and my mom's boyfriend both requested a sympathy card recently so I'm starting to rebuild my supply.  For this card I used 3 different stamps from I Brake For Stamps.

For the front of the card I masked off a portion of the Memories Comfort stamp.

I stamped the flowers twice and cut some of them out to give it a 3-D look.

Here's the inside.

I Brake For Dogwood Blossoms!

I fell in love with this beautiful Dogwood Blossom from I Brake For Stamps the second I saw it.  I haven't stamped anything inside yet because I thought it could be used for so many different occasions...birthday, sympathy, thinking of you, get well... I'll stamp something when I need it for one of those things.

My embossing folder is from Craft Concepts and the border punch is by Recollections.
I wish these were blooming in my yard right now!  That would mean it was spring and I could have my summer off all over again!
