I Brake for Inky Backgrounds!

I was looking at this very neat Grand Canyon scene stamp and I thought that I could make a really great masculine notecard if I just stamped it over an inky background.

I used beige and brown Distress Oxides in the background, smooshing them up from my craft mat onto watercolor paper. I dried between layers and also added a little orange to suggest the color of the rocks at the Grand Canyon.  

When dry, I just stamped over top with a crisp black ink.  I matted this in navy blue.  I think I could send this to any guy for any occasion. I’m so happy to have a card like that in my stash!

I Brake for a Tourist ..

Hello IBFS fans !!

It's Crystal here and today's card was made using Tourist Charlie you can buy him as a single stamp or on IBFS100 Senior half sheet , I got the half sheet because I must collect them all ..lol .. that's how I roll, I must adopt all their friends .

sometime when I look at a stamp the card just pops in my head and this is how my card came about for this one, I embraced the whole travel theme he had going on went to my dies and started pull them out and the card started to come alive. I pulled my papers from the World Traveler 6x6 paper pad by Teresa Collins and oldie but a goodie and copic colored my image . at the end I'll list all the dies I used to get this look ..

inside my card I kept the theme going and added a die cut sentiment

the Die list: Tim Holtz thinlits Celebrate set , My Favorite Things Mini film strip , Amy Tangerine Camera/ picture frame set , In'spire Around the world die set , Darice Travel Theme die set , I challenge you to go thru your dies and put them to work , I am a die collector too..haha can you see a pattern here , oh well we all have our vices and mine is I love to make cards and IBFS has really awesome images to do just that, go check them out , the online store make it real easy to shop .

I Brake for a Rock Star ..

Hello IBFS fans !!

It's Crystal here, hope your week has gone well, today I made a card using You Got Served Sam from the Humorous Senior line , he was colored copics on his skin and colored pencils on his clothes. Masculine cards use to be hard for me ,but anymore I don't dread making them , they just seem to flow , keep them simple, in a manly color pallet  , I find it helpful to use a 6x6 paper pad that has great guy papers  ( 6x6 paper pads have smaller patterns to fit A2 cards perfectly ), this will make it much easier to match your color pallet too and no glitter ( that is what is so hard for me ..hehe )  , you can distress the papers, add a great sentiment and some die cuts and you have a great card , you can use fibers such as twines or enamel dots . eyelets ect .. guys like simple ,clean and or rustic cards , no fufu ... awh man those are my favorite hehe ...

I hope  You Got Served Sam  has inspired  to make a great masculine card , remember less is more for guy cards.. Good Luck and remember YOU ROCK !!!!

I Brake for Retirement ..

Hello IBFS fans !!!

Hello it's Crystal here and today I have made a Retirement card using Beach Baby Burt  , I colored him with colored pencils and baby oil , I added a beach and water to the image and then made some tropical flowers to go with my theme , I totally think he is enjoying his retirement don't you ..hehe

 insde my card was left blank until I need it for an occasion 

TIP :

 ok now for the fun part , I did not have a stamp or die  to say Happy Retirement so I made one on my Silhouette die cutter and cut it from vinyl and used matte clear contact paper to transfer the sentiment to my card , I made it the exact size I needed so don't worry if you ' have a die word make your own way cheaper ... It totally looks hand stamped

I Brake for your Fishing Spot !!

Hello IBFS fans !!!

It's Crystal here and today I have another new Humorous Senior image  called Fishing Spot  , I used the set for my card today.This image can be bought in the full sheet or as a single

I colored my image with copic markers and kept this super simple and let the image be the star it is , I added some fishtail flags and some enamel dots and a bit of twine . I am not sure what kind of fish this may be but I colored him the way a salmon looks in my head lol , while he's pretty anyway.. I think this image is great for Birthday cards and perfect for a Retirement card .

I Brake For The Outdoorsman Collection

Hi everybody!  Regina here.....

I have a masculine card to show you this week from I Brake For Stamps called Outdoorsman Collection.  This is such a great stamp for the hunters in your life.  It would make a great birthday card, thank you, hello, etc.  I am using this one to thank someone who helped me and also hunts.  

I colored this with Zig Real Brush Markers and sponged the background with Memento Desert Sand Ink.  I added Glossy Accents to the glass parts on the compass, lantern and binoculars.  I used a Tim Holtz die.  I thought this looked masculine and like it was written.  Finished off with glitter enamel dots.  

I think this one would be a great addition to your masculine stamp collection.  

Have I inspired you to make some masculine cards?  This was pretty quick to color, especially with the Zig Markers.  Love how it turned out!  Don't forget your camoflage paper!

I Brake For Bucks

Hi everybody!  Regina here and as you know, deer hunting season is almost here and so I thought I would make a card using this Buck stamp from I Brake For Stamps.  This is a great stamp to use for a masculine card.  I cut off the top of the stamp as you can see on my card with a plan in mind.  I colored it about 4 weeks ago and decided to make a card with it this week and forgot what my plan was LOL!  I cut it off because I didn't want blue sky to show but I can't remember why.  :(  Please tell me I'm not the only one who is like this.  


Here's the stamp... 

I used embossing folders as you can see on the card background and the background the stamp is on and sponged ink around the edges of the die the stamp is on.  I cut a couple pieces of camo ribbon and adhered to card, adding bronze brads in corners.  I colored the stamp with Copics and I asked my boyfriend to make sure I colored it accurately and he said yes.  Yay!  I cut the stamp out with a die and cut off the top part of the stamp (for whatever reason?!?) and cut out the leaves and For You sentiment with dies.  Supplies listed below.  

It is kind of difficult to make masculine cards and I usually don't put ribbon on them, twine maybe, but not ribbon, but I made an exception here.  I usually make masculine cards pretty CAS but I tried to add as much as I could to this one to see how much I could do and it still be a masculine card. This card will be to display in my boyfriend's reload room so I made it 6" square.

I Brake for the Handy Man ...

Hello IBFS fans !!

It's Crystal here and today we are going masculine  , I am using Handy Andy and decide I should make a Thank You card for today inspiration . Sometimes a friends helps you out with a fix around the house and you need a thank you card , Handy Any is a perfect image for this , you can get him and lots of other great stamps over in the I Brake for Stamps online store.

I cut my tools from gray CS and then sponged a darker gray as the are stencil die too and then no tool is free of Rust , so I added some rust spots to make them look more life-like.

I Brake for Motor Cycles ....

Hello IBFS fans !!!

Crystal here and today I made a masculine card , I use to have such a hard time with masculine cards until I discovered the formula.... Texture  , Muted color , and Subtle bling  instead of glitter ,try wink of stella, I used glossy accents to add shiny bling. I used an image from Senior Full sheet , I chose to use the man on the motor cycle for this card .

my texture is a diamond plate layer that I made by using stick glue to adhere aluminium foil to card stock and the I die cut the fishtail banner and then embossed with a Time Holtz Diamond plate folder  I chose a graffiti paper background and went with rusty orange card base , I added glossy accents to headlight and wink of stella to all the metal for subtle bling , guys like shiny chrome and diamond plate , both are shiny bling so see you can add bling to a guys card and still look manly , I used a EK chain punch to add more interest and adhered it with tiny staples. , I used a script die for a sentiment .

I Brake for John's Big Catch

Hello I Brake for Stamps Fans !!!

It's Crystal here with a fun CAS masculine card, I use to think these were so hard to do, but anymore I find them not so intimidating. For this card I kept it very fun , I used a 110 lb card stock base ,this is the key to a great card you need it to feel substantial even if it's a simple card. Next I lay down a base of colorful yet masculine printed washi tape. I am using  John's Big Catch from the I Brake for Stamps store  for my stamped image and I copic colored him and fussy cut him out and go around the edges with a black marker so not the have with edges show . my Camera and sentiment are from the Silhouette store ( called Camera ) and  cut about 3" . and my enamel dots are hand-made by me and were in my stash . my favorite way to make these are the punch different sized circles from colored card stock ,use a stylus to shape into a dome , add to the top of a glue dot while still on the sticker paper and add a layer of glossy accents let dry and not you have dots to mach your project from scraps of matching card stock .
