Small Canvas Wall Hanging

This is a 6x6 Canvas that has been grunged up using Rock Candy Crackle paint and some Distress ink (after I painted and stamped it of course!)  The sides of this canvas had staples so I covered them up by hot gluing some Grosgrain ribbon to the sides, and of course used more ribbon to make a hanger for it.
For the finishing touch I added a facet with patterned paper attached.  FUN project to do!

Stamps used are as follows:
European Tile #2
We Do Not Remember

Antique Glimmers - Noel

Hi folks! It's Holly posting today. There is a new challenge on the I Brake for Challenges blog, and today is all about Christmas. I love making Christmas cards, and this one was a joy to make.

I tried the Antique Glimmers technique from Technique Junkies for the first time, and I love the results. What you don't see in this picture is the gorgeous gold shimmer from this technique. I tried to photograph it, but because of all the red in the background, none of the pictures came out right. You're more than welcome to come on over here to see it in person - trust me, it's gorgeous and shimmery. :-)

This beautiful Christmas collage is the Joyeux Noel Amaryllis stamp from I Brake for Stamps. The sentiment is paper pieced, and I added some black pearls to the gold cardstock scallops.

I think I will make some more cards like this, perhaps in different colors, and if I leave the black pearls off, it would be the perfect mail-able Christmas card. I love making flat cards so I can easily mail them out. What colors do you think I should use for this card?

Be sure to check out the I Brake for Challenges blog to see what the other gals created. We'd love to have you play along with us!

Stamps: Joyeux Noel Amaryllis stamp from I Brake for Stamps
Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Aged Mahogany distress, Fired Brick distress
CS: Red Riding Hood, White, Black, Gold
Other: black pearls, Scallop Diamond Edge punch (EK Success), Gold Glimmer Mist, sponge
TJ Techniques: Antique Glimmers, Paper Piecing

Growing Old Friends...

It's Wednesday again, and that means a new project from me, Robyn. Today, I made a card for a dear friend of mine using the S.W.A.L.K. stamp set called "Old Friend".

I Brake for Stamps SWALK

I altered the sentiment; which comes on the sheet as sort of a half-circle. I just cut it in half to stamp it as shown. I decided to do some paper piecing. I love doing that. For some strange reason, fussy-cutting is relaxing to me. :c)

IBFS Close

The paper collection that I used is Cosmo Cricket "Odds and Ends," and I absolutely love it. I used the 6x6 pad. I colored in the greenery, tags, and the girls hair and skin using my Letraset Promarkers.

The inside sentiment says, "...to grow an old friend."

I did cut apart the inside sentiment as well, it was in a half circle as well. I cut it out using my labels nestie. Hope you check out this great line of stamps on the IBFS website! :)

If you'd like more information on the products that were used to create this card, I have them posted on my website.

Happy Creating!

Robyn

With and Without

{Jane Bosi} here, with a sample using some gorgeous flowers from I Brake For Stamps! You'll find this image in the floral section, it's called Fennel Silhouette. I've used a technique from the TJNL April 2011 edition called With and Without. That'd make a good book title, too--don't you think?

Just a little side note from the I Brake For Challenges Blog--a new challenge will be announced on Wednesday! The challenge blog is currently featuring the winner announcement from the last challenge and a sneak peak of what is to come....won't you check it out! I'll see you there!

Telescoping Card - Bird & Feathers

Good morning! I'm sharing this fun Telescoping Card with you today. This is a fun technique from Technique Junkies, and it is much easier than it looks. I used stamps from the "For the Birds" sheet and the Two Feathers stamp from I Brake for Stamps here.

This is how the card looks at first:

Then you pull the top circle up, and you see this:

Then you pull again to see the entire card:

Isn't that fun? I stamped the feathers in a soft Kraft ink so it would be light enough for me to write a personal note on there. The sentiment on the middle circle was stamped with a darker brown ink over the bird and then I sponged the edges with that same darker brown ink. It will be fun to give this to a dear friend and see their reaction. :-)

Stamps: For the Birds sheet & Two Feathers from I Brake for Stamps
Ink: Kraft, Chocolate Chip
CS: Kraft, Naturals Ivory, Marina Mist
Other: sponge, brands, ribbon, circle dies
TJ Technique: Telescoping Card

Heat Wave....

This is me {jane bosi}! LOL!!!! I'm sure we are all enduring record temperatures and can relate to poor Freddie! I just had to chuckle! This image has been sitting colored on my desk for a good week--I just wasn't sure what to do with it :) Today, our temps were in the 90's with horrid humidity--my hubster spent the day watching our thermostat climb. (86 in the house...) It would appear our A/C is not properly sized for our house???? He's an engineer--used to design A/C systems for hospitals and universities....so, I gotta trust....anyway, to take my mind off the grueling heat, I decided on a technique from the TJNL's Stampbooking CD. This one is called Stylized Squares and is wonderfully adaptable for cards too! You can find Freddie in the store here and the Stampbooking CD here :) Glad I could help :)

PS--this is also a good time to remind you that you still have time to play in the I Brake For Challenges Challenge--head over to the challenge blog where you will see the theme is Summer Fun--I think Freddie is having fun....??? I'll announce a winner later this week as I'll be at CHA for a few days :)

I Brake for Challenges - Summer!

It's Holly posting today, and it's time for the next challenge from the I Brake for Challenges blog! Can you guess what it is this time? It's all about Summer - hot days, swimming, flip flops, and BBQ's!

So what does a birdhouse have to do with summer? Bear with me as I tell you a little story. Every year we have some barn swallows who nest in the spaces under our porches. Well, right now I've been seeing a lot of those barn swallows flying in and they are hanging out on the ledges and on our outdoor ceiling fans. I don't know if these are the parents or the babies, but they come back every year. Sooooo..... I had birdies on the brain when I was creating my "summery" card. :-)

I used summery colors - fun oranges and pale blues - and I aged these papers by doing the Distressed Papers technique. The birdhouse image (Birdhouses Set from I Brake for Stamps) is colored with Copic markers directly on some patterned paper. The ribbon is actually some white ribbon that I colored with some distress stains. A few Wild Orchid flowers from I Brake for Stamps provide the finishing touch on this clean and simple card.

I hope you play along with this fun Summer challenge over at the I Brake for Challenges blog.

Stamps: Birdhouses Set - I Brake for Stamps
Ink: Rich Cocoa Memento
CS: dark brown, Stella Rose-Mabel paper (My Minds Eye)
Other: distress stains, white ribbon, Wild Orchid Flowers from I Brake for Stamps
TJ Technique: Distressed Paper

I did some heat embossing, emboss resist and misting to get this look. I really love the way they turned out and I hope you do as well.

Hey, What's Up?

Hello Ladies,

It's Robyn here . For my card today, I've used my Scalloped Square Sizzix die for the base. The stamp is from I Brake for Stamps and its called Hot Air Balloon with Flowers. I colored the basket and flowers using my Letraset Promarkers and paper pieced the top of the balloon using the Honey & Hugs collection by Papermania. I added Stickles around the top of the balloon, and filled in the hearts and larger flower centers just to add a little sparkle.

Fun with Stampbord!

HI All! Its Kristy here :)
Hope everyone has had a great week! Today's creation uses Stampbord-a wonderful stampable surface! I had forgotten all about it until I ran across a stash of it that I have had for a while!
This is a dimensional piece-3 layers if you look at the close up! I used the Lion Face and the Ruler Background with Alcohol inks to create the background.
