Antique Glimmers - Noel

Hi folks! It's Holly posting today. There is a new challenge on the I Brake for Challenges blog, and today is all about Christmas. I love making Christmas cards, and this one was a joy to make.

I tried the Antique Glimmers technique from Technique Junkies for the first time, and I love the results. What you don't see in this picture is the gorgeous gold shimmer from this technique. I tried to photograph it, but because of all the red in the background, none of the pictures came out right. You're more than welcome to come on over here to see it in person - trust me, it's gorgeous and shimmery. :-)

This beautiful Christmas collage is the Joyeux Noel Amaryllis stamp from I Brake for Stamps. The sentiment is paper pieced, and I added some black pearls to the gold cardstock scallops.

I think I will make some more cards like this, perhaps in different colors, and if I leave the black pearls off, it would be the perfect mail-able Christmas card. I love making flat cards so I can easily mail them out. What colors do you think I should use for this card?

Be sure to check out the I Brake for Challenges blog to see what the other gals created. We'd love to have you play along with us!

Stamps: Joyeux Noel Amaryllis stamp from I Brake for Stamps
Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Aged Mahogany distress, Fired Brick distress
CS: Red Riding Hood, White, Black, Gold
Other: black pearls, Scallop Diamond Edge punch (EK Success), Gold Glimmer Mist, sponge
TJ Techniques: Antique Glimmers, Paper Piecing

Faux Tile Poinsettia Card

Hello All!
True :D here.
Just a quick post today to show you the card I made  using a new "Faux Tile" technique I just learned.
That beautiful stamp is from I Brake For Stamps and it is called "Happy Holidays Poinsettia".
The image is watercolored then sponged around the "tile" edges
Thanks so much for dropping by!
I would so love it if you visited my blog for all of the details!  ;)
Hugs,

Walnut Ink Resist Joyeux Noel Collage

It's Holly again with a flat Christmas card for y'all. I used the Walnut Ink Resist technique from Technique Junkies but morphed it by using Glimmer Mist instead. The collage image is from I Brake for Stamps' new Christmas Collage sheet. The little red strips in the background are also sprayed with the same Glimmer Mist for a coordinated look. This is another card for my "mail-able" Christmas cards box so I will only need one PO stamp to send this card out. :-)

Christmasy Collage

{Jane Bosi} Greetings!!! I thought a gift set using the fab Christmas Collage set was in order! The more I work with these images, the more I just love them!! I've included a few "closer up" pictures--I apologize for the flash glare. To say I've been technologically challenged lately would be an understatement!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my little creations! They all feature the Burnished Background technique. If you are a Technique Junkie, you'll find that one in the October 2009 edition!
On the Joyeaux Noel card, I've also used the O Little Town Text--which I totally love and makes me want to break out in song....anyone care to join me?

Torn Frames Peace Bird Bag

Holly here again with a Christmas gift bag for you. I stamped the bag with Holly's Tattered Background (my favorite background!) from I Brake for Stamps and set that aside. A green paper from Basic Grey's Wassail paper collection was stamped with the "peace bird" image from the Christmas Collage sheet. The collage image was too large for the bag, so I cut the sentiment off and trimmed down the bird image just a tiny bit. I distressed the edges, and then adhered them to some Torn Frames layers. Then I adhered the sentiment below the bird.

To finish off this bag, I punched a couple of holly leaves from a darker green paper (Basic Grey Wassail collection) and added some red buttons for the "berries." Won't this be a fun gift bag to give to someone for Christmas this year?

Aged Tiles Poinsettia Collage

Howdy, y'all! My name is Holly Brown, and this is my first post here as a Design Team member. I'm excited to be part of the IBFS family!

For my very first card, I created this card with the poinsettia collage from the new Christmas Collage sheet. There are four gorgeous images on this sheet, and you'll be seeing more of my work using these collages in the weeks to come.

I stamped the poinsettia collage with a red ink, let that dry, and then used the Aged Tiles technique (from Technique Junkies). I distressed the edges of the layers for a more rustic look, and then adhered that to a kraft card base. This is a perfect flat, mail-able card for the busy holiday season. We all need flat cards that only use one PO stamp to be mailed, right? :-) Come on back next week to see another flat and mail-able card with another Christmas Collage image.

Christmas Collage

{Jane Bosi} Oh....I'm so excited....so excited!!! Did you see the new stamps on the website??? Just released yesterday, Christmas Collage Rubber Sheet. Four amazing images--perfect for your holiday cards!!!

This card even got a small gasp and an "I likey" from my hubster :) I figure I pretty much have "made it" now!!

My image is stamped in Ranger Distress ink and then converted to inchies per the October 2010 Technique Junkie technique, By The Inch. A piece of designer paper in deep red and some ribbon finished things off perfectly!

Go, check it out!
