Life's Precious Things

Hi there, crafting friends!

It’s design team member Walter back on the blog with you today.  I'm really excited about this card that I'm sharing with you today.  It's another vintage themed card using the Silhouettes #1 stamp set from I Brake for Stamps.  I knew that I wanted to capture a nice town/village scene as soon as I saw the stamp of the photographer with the old camera.  I thought of him as being a photographer hired to capture the magic of a small town for a postcard.  There he stands, high up on the hill, focused down on the town below on a beautiful day.

Here's what I used to make it:

Doesn't it look like the quintessential New England town circa the early 1900's?  It's so idyllic and peaceful, and a great reminder that life's most precious things truly are near at hand.

Digital Creativity!

Hi Creative Peeps!

Welcome to yet another month of the year! Look out soon it will be Xmas!

Today I am sharing some cards using digital files - yes you heard correctly there are some fabulous digital download products available in the store!
Here's the link to the Digital Section of the Store CLICK HERE
I'm using the "Fall Teal Flowers and Leaves" Set - the colors of this set are so gorgeous.
I've made 2 greeting cards - combining the digital images, red rubber stamps and clear stamps - perfect to show you how you can combine different items from the store on your creations!

Products used:
Vintage Farm Receipt (red rubber)
Book Page (red rubber)

Digital files are great because you can print on different papers to get different effects! For my cards I printed the "tags" on plain white card and although they had some printed texture I also decided to use some the red rubber stamps listed above to add more interest to them - I used black ink on one and vintage brown on the other - love the different looks - you can use any ink color depending on the theme you are creating!

I printed the leaves on glossy photo paper and fussy cut some out to add individually - the colors are so gorgeous - they "pop" on the glossy paper - the glossy paper would be perfect for using the whole image as a background.

I stamped sentiments from the clear stamp sets onto Kraft card.

I added all the stamped elements to the card fronts and added some little Tim Holtz vintage people and bits & pieces to finish off . I love how these turned out!
We would love to see you have some fun with the new digital files and share your creations on social media so we can get some ideas from you!

Happy stamping and crafting until next time!

Admit One!

 Hi Stamping Fans!

Today I am sharing some tags made with some leftover "masterboard" card. I made this at an art journal class I attended here in Australia - I love making background papers with paint, stencils and stamps!
I used stamps available in store on this piece of card - there are so many great little stamps to choose!
And the focal images n the tags are some fabulous vintage style stamps - perfect for small projects and adding interest to anything!

Here are links to a few I used but really there are endless choices in the stores:
Diamond Border by Pam Bray
Ornate Medallions by Michelle Frae Cummins

And for the focal images these vintage style stamps:

A Vintage Note

Hello, friends!

It's creative team member Walter on the I Brake for Stamps blog today.  I'm a fan of vintage items and design, especially things like old photos, newsprint, magazines, etc.  I have a lot of fun thinking about how to take stamps or dies and turn them into something that looks older and aged, and that's exactly what I did for my latest creative team design, A Vintage Note.

Here's what I used to make this card:

  • Just Messy Floral Sheet from I Brake for Stamps
  • Handwriting stamp from Hero Arts Mix Textures Stamp Set
  • Spellbinders Deckled Edge Dies
  • Sizzix Embossing Ink
  • Ranger Vintage Pearl Embossing Powder
  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo
  • Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains: Antique Linen, Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet, Bundled Sage

I love the look of the embossed colored roses against the ivory card stock, grunge, and separate rose.

And the light writing adds just a little bit of additional interesting detail.

I hope that you enjoy A Vintage Note and learning a little more about my inspiration for it.  You may learn more about my creative process on my blog.

Thinking of You & Walking Beside You!

  Hi Stamping Fans!
I've been creating a lot of tags lately so I have some more to share today using stencils, stamps and collage images!

I started by covering my tags with old book pages and adding a thin layer of gesso, then I used the honey bee stencil with texture paste and ink sprays.

I finished with Tim Holtz vintage collage elements and embellies from my stash. plus phrase stamps available at the BPM & IBFS Stores!

Store Links:
Stencil designed by Miss Rach "Honey Bee Honeycomb"
Phrase "I was Thinking of You Today"
Phrase "Take My Hand Walk Beside Me"

I Brake for 2016!

Hello and happy Saturday!
This isn't just ANY Saturday...it's the first one of 2016.
Happy New Year everyone!

Today I'm sharing a thank you card.
I used two stamps from I Brake For Stamps on my card.
The first is a verse called Thanks So Much.
The image is called XLG Butterfly.

I always receive a lot of gifts at work from kids and co-workers so I need a lot of thank you cards.  This one is for one of the teachers I work with.  She absolutely loves birds and butterflies.

I was inspired by THIS card that I found on Pinterest.  I believe I changed it enough to call it my own.  Her original is so beautiful.  I just had to recreate it in some way.

I Brake for Beautiful Vintage Roses!

 Hello and happy Saturday!

I hope all of you that celebrate Christmas had a wonderful day yesterday!  My family had a perfect day together!  We're experiencing some unusually warm weather here in the N.E. United States so it didn't quite feel the same but it's not about the weather...it's about being with the ones you love.

The upside of this unseasonably warm weather is that my newly licensed son has some safer roads to drive on.  I'm not sure how my nerves are going to survive the first time he goes out in bad weather!

I made two cards using the same stamp and layout.  The first is a sympathy card because my sister needed one.

The second card is a birthday card for my mother-in-law in January.

I Brake for Blessings!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a sympathy card with you.  My co-worker lost her baby and I wanted something beautiful for her.

On the front of the card I used a verse that's not meant to be for a sympathy card but by eliminating the final line I felt it was appropriate for her.  She's religious and I think these words will mean something to her.

The stamp is called The Blessings Of Peace and it's a Christmas sentiment. (minus the last line)

Inside I stamped a teddy bear and a sympathy verse.
I hope she's able to start healing soon.

I Brake For Vintage Sleds!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a beautiful vintage image from I Brake For Stamps.  I love Victorian style anything so when I saw this image I instantly thought of a million possibilities for it.

It's called CHILD ON SLED.

I always think of old buttons when I think vintage and although I may have gone a little overboard with number of them I chose, I like them.

Isn't this child sweet?

I Brake for Baby Girls and Teddy Bears!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a vintage style baby girl card.
On the front of my card I used SWEET TEDDY .
It's tough to read the staples but they say Baby and Girl.

On the inside I used the verse LITTLE GIRLS.
Both stamps are from I BRAKE FOR STAMPS.

I Brake For Ballerinas!

Hello and Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing another dance card.  My daughter recently completed her 10th year of dance.  Some of the other dance moms asked me to make cards for the 6 teachers and 2 helpers.  This was one of the thank you cards that I made for them.

I've used BALLERINA #2 on my card.

This card went to a young, new teacher.  She wasn't new to the studio though.  She's been dancing there most of her life and now that she's in college locally she has decided to teach part time.

On the inside I used a verse from EVERY DAY PHRASES.
