I Brake for Flowers!

Hello and happy Friday!!

Today I'm sharing a card with a new fold the I tried. I'm sure it's been around for a while but I just discovered the easel card with a smaller center panel.  I really like that you can see the paper from the "inside" of the card when it's closed.

When it's popped up it rests on a butterfly that I cut and embossed with an old Cuttlebug set I have.

The image and verse are from FLORAL HALF SHEET 148A.

I used my Arteza Watercolor Pens to color it.  They're pretty bold so I don't use them very often but I really like them on this image with this paper.

When you lift the flower up you see the birthday verse inside.

My sister-in-law has a birthday on St. Patrick's Day which is pretty close to Spring so I wanted to make a nice, cheery card for her.

I've used images from 2 half sheets.
Floral Half Sheet 148A
Floral Half Sheet 148B

I love the zig-zag stems on these beauties!
It makes them seem fun.

I used 3 images from the two sets.  There is such a variety of combinations you could make with these. You could also mask some off to create even more options.  On the inside I also used one of the verses that comes on 148A.

I love the look that is created by contrasting black and white with colors.  It's been popping up a bit lately in my pinterest so, naturally, I wanted to give it a try.  Pinterest always knows what I'd like ;)  I thought these beautiful floral images from Floral Half Sheet 148A  and Floral Half Sheet 148B  would be perfect to use!

I started by stamping random images in black in on a background piece.  Next, I on a second piece of paper, I stamped three images that matched the background piece in style, but contrasted in size.  I trimmed and water colored those images and then adhered them to the background with two way glue.

I use these two sets quite frequently--they are so versatile!

Happy Monday, Brakers!!!  As promised, it's a month of Floral Mondays here on the I Brake For Stamps blog!

I couldn't help, but play with my bisters again while creating floral projects all month!  The bisters become easier to control the more you play with them and produce an intriguing background every time!

For this project, I began by creating a floral resist using several images from Floral Half Sheet 148A and Floral Half Sheet 148B..  I stamped the images in versamark on water color paper.  Then, using white embossing powder, I embossed each of them.  Once cooled, I was able to sprinkle bisters in strategic places to create the colorful background you see.  I was specific to place only red bisters in the center of the two cone flowers....I love how this turned out!

To finish things off, I used my white signo pen to color the cone flower petals and some distress markers for other accenting.  I just got this cute little stampy stapler so, that is now my favorite rustic accent--you might be seeing it a lot for awhile :)

I Brake For Bister, Mister!

Happy Monday, Brakers!!  I have a quick card share today!  Still playing around with my Bisters and learning how to control and layer the colors.  For this card, I wanted a masculine feel so, used Green, Blue and Yellow bisters. 

This is one of the first IBFS sheets, called Music Sheet, I purchased many many moons ago.  I love it because the images are genderless and hip (although, my kids tell me anyone truly "hip" never uses that word anymore!).  It's a wonderfully versatile sheet.

For this project, I used Fabriano water color paper.  I heat embossed the drum set, as well, so in real life, it's a bit shiny and pops right off the page!  My sentiment comes from the Floral Half Sheet 148A.
