Sunflower Wishes

 Hey there, friends!

It’s creative team member Walter back on the Blank Page Muse blog today.  The sunflower is a definite symbol of summer and early fall.  I’ve always enjoyed them - they stand so tall basking in the sun and gently swaying in the breeze.  They also happened to be a favorite flower of my mom.  She always enjoyed a sunflower bouquet; they always made her smile.  Today’s card, Sunflower Wishes, was inspired by her and is dedicated to the memory of her.

Sunflower Wishes was made with the following items:

The gold embossed sentiment really stands out and shines against the purple card stock, as does the gold butterflies.

The butterfly sits so nicely on the sunflower and serves of a reminder that those we lose are always around us.

Admit One!

 Hi Stamping Fans!

Today I am sharing some tags made with some leftover "masterboard" card. I made this at an art journal class I attended here in Australia - I love making background papers with paint, stencils and stamps!
I used stamps available in store on this piece of card - there are so many great little stamps to choose!
And the focal images n the tags are some fabulous vintage style stamps - perfect for small projects and adding interest to anything!

Here are links to a few I used but really there are endless choices in the stores:
Diamond Border by Pam Bray
Ornate Medallions by Michelle Frae Cummins

And for the focal images these vintage style stamps:

A Vintage Note

Hello, friends!

It's creative team member Walter on the I Brake for Stamps blog today.  I'm a fan of vintage items and design, especially things like old photos, newsprint, magazines, etc.  I have a lot of fun thinking about how to take stamps or dies and turn them into something that looks older and aged, and that's exactly what I did for my latest creative team design, A Vintage Note.

Here's what I used to make this card:

  • Just Messy Floral Sheet from I Brake for Stamps
  • Handwriting stamp from Hero Arts Mix Textures Stamp Set
  • Spellbinders Deckled Edge Dies
  • Sizzix Embossing Ink
  • Ranger Vintage Pearl Embossing Powder
  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo
  • Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains: Antique Linen, Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet, Bundled Sage

I love the look of the embossed colored roses against the ivory card stock, grunge, and separate rose.

And the light writing adds just a little bit of additional interesting detail.

I hope that you enjoy A Vintage Note and learning a little more about my inspiration for it.  You may learn more about my creative process on my blog.

Journal Ephemera!

 Hi Stamping Fans!

Hope you are all getting in some creative time! I've been busy working in my journals which seems to be my go to creative outlet at the moment!
So today I am sharing some quick little word and image ephemera for adding to your journal pages or you could also use them on cards and tags - whatever you want!

All supplies available in store:

I've used word stamps and small image stamps from the clear stamp sets - any words and small stamps will word from any of the huge range of stamps available in both stores!

I love the 6 x 6 paper pads by Pam Bray - I cut strips and layered them on double sided sticky paper - makes it quick and easy and less mess than glue! Plus when you cut out your pieces you can just peel off the backing and stick straight on your project!

Hope you have fun with this quick little project! We would love to see what you create so remember to tag us on social media or make sure you have joined our Facebook group so you can share your creations!

In some way or the other, Karen has been crafting most of her life. It all started at a very young age when her  Grandmother and Aunt taught her proficiently in hand embroidery.  Her hubby of 38+ years is a retired Police Officer and Karen is a retired Office Manager for the County.  My blog is where she shares all of her art.  She looks forward to meeting new friends and to taking some of my older blog friends with me on her new creative journey.

Lyneen has lived in Bremerton, WA 24 years with her awesome husband and their terribly spoiled schnauzer Lilly. Currently she works part-time in a local scrapbook store where she also teaches classes.
Lyneen's earliest memories of creating, include making gifts with her mom, sisters and brother. Since her father was an architect, she would doodle buildings with columns like those in his BIG books.  Later she started scrapbooking with what she had before there were beautiful papers and ephemera. Give her an idea and she will come up with a way to create it.
She can work magic from almost nothing. Her  studio is filled with everything imaginable from hardware store finds to the stacks of paper, stamps, vintage photos and postcards, flowers and chipboard, tools mediums and to much more that she has “collected” over the years!
She enjoys stamping, scrapbooking, mixed media, altered art, collecting vintage treasures and photography.

We are excited to show you how you can incorporate
rubber stamping into a variety of mixed media designs!

This includes categories like: art journaling, scrapbooks, jewelry, fabric art, collage, mixed mediums  and more!
We will provide inspiration for you to use in your everyday life, home, office and gift giving idea's!
