I Brake for Happiness!

Hello and happy Sunday!

Today I'm sharing a fun, bright card that I made for my friend.
I used CHOOSE HAPPY
from

Last week my friend surprised me with my favorite 3-wick candle from Bath and Bodyworks for no reason!  The card simply said, "Happy Thursday my friend!"
Isn't that so sweet??

There's an entire line of these fun little monsters.
I thought this one would be perfect for her thank you card.

I Brake for Birthday Flowers!

Hello from designer, Heidi!  I used this stamp a couple weeks ago with an artsy stamping technique, but wanted to use it again to show the pretty detail of the stamp.

First, I used watercolors to created a background.  This time, I used mixed media paper.  I die cut the paper, then stamped the floral silhouette in black ink.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set, available in the I Brake for Stamps store: Half Sheet 138B.

Thanks for your visit today, and happy stamping!!

I Brake for Birthday Roses!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card.

The sentiments are both from Every Day Phrases.

I stamped the roses twice and cut them apart so they would fit around the circular window.

I Brake for Asters!

Hello!  Did you know that September’s Birth Flower is the Aster?  That isn’t a big surprise as you may see them for sale all over during the early fall.  I made this card for my friend, whose birthday is in just a couple days!

I tried to color the image in what I think is the quintessential color for an Aster, a pretty periwinkle. I used a blue and a purple alcohol marker to get this look.  I die cut the image, and then with the die in place, sponged light blue distress ink over top, to get the delicate white frame.

I like to decorate the inside by stamping the flower in a very light ink with the sentiment over top.

Like all the stamps in the Birth flower series, this is available as both a regular size and a Jumbo size. The stamp I used is the regular one.

Sentiment from Half Sheet 138B

I sure appreciate your visiting the blog today!  Happy Stamping!

I Brake for Ghosts!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a Halloween card.  I know it's probably still hot where some you live...I'm in upstate NY and it was just 90 deg. here 3 days ago.  The last two days have been in the upper 60s though so my mind has shifted to fall.

My son and his girlfriend decorated our house for Halloween a few days ago and it looks great.  It also got me in the mood to make a Halloween card.

I've used GHOST  and SPIDER WEB from I Brake for Stamps.

I've had this little ghost for so many years!  I still pull him out EVERY SINGLE Halloween.  I just recently acquired the spider web and thought they'd be great together.

On the inside I used LARGE BOO.
I hope you're all enjoying the start of fall!

I Brake for Gnomes!

Hello and happy FRIDAY!

In case you didn't notice...I LOVE this Gnome set from I Brake for Stamps.

You can find this gnome and these mushrooms on MS123 Gnomes Sheet.

There are so many wonderful images on this full sheet from I Brake for Stamps!

I just recently received this Tim Holtz Textured Impressions log die and embossing folder and I instantly thought of this set.  The leaves and branch are old Sizzix dies.  The grass was cut with a Martha Stewart punch.

Inside I used the Happy Birthday verse from Every Day Phrases.
I also used Large Leaf on the inside.

I Brake for Birds!

Hello!  Today, I worked on a Thank You card.  First, I sponged light blue Distress ink over textured white cardstock.  I then stamped my bird image onto this, and a second time onto plain white cardstock.

I simply filled in the color with alcohol markers, then fussy cut out the plain bird and glued it over top of the textured paper.  I like the tiny bit of dimension this gives, as I would have lost a lot of the bird detail on the textured cardstock.

Oh, and I almost forgot! I did add a touch of white gel pen to accent the eye.  I often find that makes a big difference!

The image is from Sheet 141A Birds, and the sentiment is from Florals Sheet.

Thank you for visiting today! Happy Stamping!

I Brake for Brusho Stamping!

Hello everyone.  I am sharing a card I made this week with a bit of a different stamping technique. I stamped with Brusho powders.  Any of the watercolor powders would work with this technique and it gives a neat look.

This is the process. 1: Spritz rubber stamp with water.  2: Sprinkle Brusho powders over the wet stamp.  I used yellow, green and blue powders. 3: Spritz again with water to mix colors.  4: Stamp onto watercolor paper.

This is a very loose look and will be a bit different each time.  I let my garden dry, and then stamped over top of it with the fence stamp. I added a few flower sequins to the garden, just for fun. I just adore this sentiment, don’t you?

All the stamps are from Half Sheet 138B.

Thanks for visiting! Happy Stamping!
