I brake for friendship

Hello and happy Monday! Monica here from Taylormadecards4u. I am here today sharing a friendship card using a beautiful sentiment from I brake for stamps.

The set is called inspirational plate #2. I am also using the ticket stamp that is part of the half sheet travel set

Sometimes I like to build my scene's around the sentiment, and this sentiment was perfect for a vintage friendship card.  I added several pieces of ephemera to add interest and finished it off with the two little girls.

Collage cards are so easy to create and often times you can use left over scraps, when put together create a great card.

Thanks for stopping by!

I Brake For.....Garden Still Life!

Hello stampers!  Nancy here today!!   Let's get ready for spring planting...

This darling little stamp is called Garden Still Life and can be found HERE.

I had intended this to be a "one layer card", but one layer led to another and it soon became multiple layers!  I kept the color scheme simple - red and green.  I love how the red pops out - and made the ribbon on the hat white with black polka dots!

I colored the image with copics, using a stitched square die and swiss dot embossing folder to frame it out.  I love red gingham ribbon and added a touch of it to the bottom.

This is a small, adorable stamp that still makes a statement on a card.  It is probably my most favorite from IBFS and this card is a little bittersweet for me.  This post is my last as a design team member for IBFS.  I used this stamp for my first DT card and thought it was fitting to use a my last.

I have absolutely loved being on this team!  The other designers are wonderful and the owner Della has been so generous. The  sheer variety of stamps is wonderful and the rubber is high quality, deep etched.   I'm taking a break from design team work because we have a bunch of things going on here at home - all good!  We've already started some long overdue home improvement projects, with more to do through the summer.  In between those, we are taking a couple of weeks next month for some traveling, and after that have family coming to visit.  We'll be busy throughout the summer and I hope to get a little stamping done in between.

In the meantime, I hope you check out the thousands of stamps available at IBFS.   Thanks so much for stopping by today!

I Brake for Flower Barrels

Hi everyone! It's Monica from Taylormadecards4u. I am here today to share with you this beautiful Spring card. I created the background using some Distress Resist spray and along with some distress oxide inks.

If you would like to see my process video, you can find it over on my you tube channel

I pulled out my sewing machine for this card and added some layers to my distress resist panel I creating. The stamp that I used to hold the flowers is called Barrel and it is from I Brake for Stamps.

I stamped it on some card stock that has some discoloration. It gave it a rustic look and really added to the details of this stamp.  I find that the distress oxide Walnut stain is the perfect color for this image.

The barrel stamp is the perfect size to hold the die cut leaves and paper roses.  A perfect Spring Card!

I Brake for Apple Blossoms!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a sympathy card that I made for a co-worker.
I used a new stamp that I got this week from I Brake for Stamps.
I used an image from the IBFS Stained Glass line which I have recently fallen in love with.  I already have 4 of them.

One thing I love about bird and flower images is that even though each species is meant to be a certain color you can use your artistic licence and create whatever you want.  I know apple blossoms aren't blue...I don't care.  Aren't they pretty in blue.

The WITH SYMPATHY verse is from the Every Day Phrases set.

I stamped the flower image twice so that I could cut out the flowers and pop them up.  I really like making flowers dimensional whenever possible.

You can see my other stained glass cards here...

I Brake For....Hooks and Line!

Hello stampers - Nancy here today!!  I hope the weather is starting to warm up wherever you are - it's been a wild winter this year!
I have a cute card for all the fishing fans out there..

The main image is called Hooks and Lines and can be found HERE.
This is such a great stamp and I did something with it that some of you may not have done before - I cut the stamp up!  I knew I wanted to use the images in a variety of ways  - it started as one stamp and ended up being a group of individual stamps - take a look:

Don't be afraid to cut up stamps - I have never regretted any that I have taken apart.
I stamped the lures using a stamp positioner and colored them with copics.  Once the coloring was complete I cut a generic fish shape using a Silhouette cut file and stamped a birthday sentiment on it.

Then I pulled out another stamp set called Luncheon Meat - fund HERE - and stamped one of the fish images, colored it, cut it out and popped it up on the front.

I used a bunch of prisma pencils to color the lures,,,,,

I hope you hope on over to the IBFS store where there are a nice variety of fishing and lure images.  Perfect for Father's Day, or for anyone who likes fishing!

Thanks for stopping by today!

I Brake for Purple and Gold Irises!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a thank you card that I made using several stamps from I Brake for Stamps.

I've used

and

My daughter is visiting colleges right now and recently went on an overnight visit to a school that she is considering.  At Elmira College she was able to spend the night with a current college student and then the next morning meet some of the professors in her curriculum and see some of the classrooms.

Elmira's colors are Purple and Gold and the school flower is the Iris.  I'll bet the campus is going to be stunning in a month or so when all the Iris flowers are in bloom.

We wanted to thank the young woman that hosted her and I knew these two stamp sets were just perfect!

I thought this verse would be meaningful for a college student.

I used Copic markers to color the flowers and butterfly and I used Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink in 2 shades of purple and olive green to make the dots on the inside of the card.  I have a gold glitter paint pen that I outlined some of the edges in.

I Brake for.....Lemons!

Hello stampers - Nancy here!!  Today I have a bright and cheery card to get you thinking about warm weather and summertime.

The card uses the great Lemons and Phrase Set, found here.

It can also be found as part of a larger set called MS86 Full Plate, found here.

I colored the image with copics, just three markers in the Yellow range and two in the Green range did the trick.  I also tried to "stipple" the markers on the lemons to get a dimpled appearance.  Not sure if that really shows up in the photo, but it looks good irl!

Some patterned paper and a green ribbon pull it all together!  Now I am ready for lemons!  We have a lemon tree in the backyard and I look forward to getting the fruit each year.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Hop on over to the IBFS store - there are thousands of stamps available and there is a very nice selection of fruit stamps  I hope you take a look!

I Brake for Numbers...

Hi Everyone! It's Monica from Taylormadecards4u. Today I am sharing a card with you where my inspiration was numbers. Numbers can be used for backgrounds or to create a great focal point.

If you want to see the process video for this card you can check it out over on my youtube channel

The stamp that I used for this card is from I brake for stamps and is called Numbers background. I paired that background stamp with idea-ology Remnant Rubs to create a fun background.

This is a very easy technique and anyone can do this! I also added the theme "Lucky" to the card since numbers are often tied with some "Luck".

The numbers you choose can be both big like the ones I used above, or a bit more subtle as the ones I used in the background.  Whatever way you go, numbers are always a fun addition to your projects.
