Winter Scene Holiday Card

Hello from designer, Heidi!   I was thinking of an idyllic Christmas morning scene when I made this card, but it really could be used all winter long, OR you could start a stash for next year!

I masked off the building in this scene and then sponged a wintery sky using Distress Oxide inks in Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar.  I sprayed the background with water to get texture.  I then added some depth to the black stamped lines by adding some black marker on some of the trees.  This makes some trees appear more toward the foreground and some more in the background.

I colored the buildings with markers and then added plenty of glitter glue to depict the snow.  I also added some white gel pen snowflakes.

This stamp is part of the I Brake for Stamps line.
It is called Small Christmas Sheet and includes other super sweet images in the set.

I Brake for Distress!

Hello!  I hope you are well!

I have a card to share today using the Old and New Stamp Sheet.  I like the sayings in this set, and I also like the grunge font.

I first masked off an area on my white cardstock and sponged over with Distress Oxide inks.  I stamped my saying, and then I stamped the flower and restamped (without reinking) get a second impression.  I used Distress Oxide black ink for my stamping. I like the chalky look it gives me, but if you want crisper stamping, I would use Versafine.

I think this is a fun look and saying for a card for a teen.

Thanks for visiting!

I Brake for Christmas Day!

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, a  safe and happy holiday season!

My clean and simple card uses a lovely image from the Small Christmas sheet, which is one of the newest stamp releases.  The sentiment is from Christmas Tree Collage Quarter Sheet.

I masked off my card front with tape, and blended three colors of Distress Oxide ink: Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans and Seedless Preserves.  I spritzed this with water to get a snowy look.  When it dried, I stamped the scene on top using Distress Oxide Black Soot.

Thank you for visiting!

I Brake for the Hokey Pokey!

Hello from design team member, Heidi!  When I saw this Hokey Pokey sentiment in the IBFS store, I just had to have it, it is so funny!  I loved how it went with one of the Carmen Medlin Curiosities called the Monster Mash.

I first colored the monster using alcohol markers and some glitter gel pen.  I trimmed it out with scissors.  Then I stamped the sentiment on my white panel and die cut out a pattern in the corner using a Tim Holtz die.  The panel was placed over a Distress Oxide background and the monster popped up on foam adhesive.

I really had a lot of fun with this card!

Have a wonderful day!

I Brake for Ghosts and Pumpkins!

Pumpkins are popping up in local grocery stores! Today I found the season's first apple cider, but this week's temperatures are going to be in the 80s. I am very ready for fall, I wish the weather would agree with me! :D

Hannah here, from Fanciful Spaces, I come to you bringing a fall/Halloween themed card! I had quite a bit of fun painting this card. I used the Large Ghosts & Pumpkins rubber stamp, however, there is also a digi version as well!

Most of the image of this card was painted using Distress Ink, I did use Zig Clean Color Brush Markers on the leaves of the pumpkin. The rest of the panel was colored using Distress Oxides, I took photos of some of the steps I used to achieve the look. To finish off the card I ran it through my die cutter to give the edge a stitched effect using a rectangular stitched die. I also embossed the edges black, I feel like just finished off the card, like a period at the end of a sentence!

Colored image.

Ink Splotched Black Soot Distress Ink.

Imaged masked out with Post-It Tape.

Distress Background with masking removed.

I just LOVE the look of the background, and doing it in layers allows for a lot of creative movement. I did lose the "Boo" sentiment from the stamp. but I was OK with that, the image is just so adorable as it is.

There are SO many Autumn/Halloween/Thanksgiving themed stamp sets in stock at I Brake For Stamps, and they ship out REALLY quickly! While I wouldn't wait to place your order (crafting takes time, after all) there is PLENTY of time to place your order and take advantage of the vast amount of styles available! I can't wait to see what you create!
