I Brake for Roses!

Hello from designer Heidi! I hope you are having a good week!

I started this card by heat embossing the decorative iron stamp on regular white cardstock.  I then sponged over top with Distress Oxide ink, light blue in the center and periwinkle around the outside.

I stamped my main image, June’s Rose, and then colored the leaves and stems first with colored pencils.  Then I used shimmery chalks to color the flowers.  That is always a fast way to color. I fussy cut this out.

Finally, I heat embossed my sentiment on black and popped it up over the images.

You can buy the stamps I used on this card in the I Brake for Stamps store.

I Brake for Roses!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a card that I made for someone special.

The verse is from EVERY DAY PHRASES.

My cousin is battling melanoma and after going through years of treatments she decided to create an organization to help first time cancer patients.  She has a 31 business (they sell bags, purses and storage solutions for those who don't know) and her goal is to present each person with a bag filled with comfort items at their first chemo treatment.  She collects items like tissues, snacks, candles, socks, blankets, journals, crosswords, peppermints for upset stomach and cards to name just a few.  Some of these items are for while they're at the treatments and some are for when they are home recovering.  She has been through this so many times so she knows exactly what people would want and need.

Even while facing her own battle she has made this mission...Micheles Mission her main focus.  I am helping out by making handmade cards with inspirational sayings.  This is the first one that I made.  This will go inside one of the bags and hopefully will brighten someone's day a little bit.

I colored this with Arteza Real Brush pens which are a watercolor "marker."

I Brake for Rose Valentines!

Hello from design team member, Heidi!  I hope you are doing well.  Today I would like to share a Valentine I made with a bit of a vintage feel.

I first stamped the background using June’s Rose stamp in gold ink.  I stamped it several times to fill in the entire panel.  I then sponged Antique Linen distress ink to add a vintage feel.

I then stamped my sentiment from the Wedding Sheet with hot pink ink onto some light pink kraft cardstock.  I stamped the heart in a very light pink.  I die cut the sentiment, and with the die still in place, traced the inside of the die with gold gel pen.  I also added Wink of Stella outside the gold line.    I stamped a second heart in the hot pink and trimmed it out, for an embellishment.

The stamps I used today can be found in the I Brake for Stamps Store

I Brake for Gold, Embossed Roses!

Hello from design team member, Heidi.  I like to keep cards like this on hand for everyday use.  Something pretty that can be made in different colors. I often will use something like this to enclose school photos sent to family members, or add a note to a friend.

I stamped the June Rose stamp four times onto yellow cardstock.  I heat embossed them with gold embossing powder.  I trimmed the panel down to size to fit over my die cut.  The sentiment and card base are actually a very lovely color of eggplant purple.  It is a bit unusual, but I really like it.

If you like this stamp, check out this card for another idea of how to use it.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Happy Crafting!

I Brake for June Roses!

Hello! I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Heidi and I stamp and blog at My Little Stamping Blog.  I am new to the I Brake for Stamps Design Team, but I have been a long-time fan.     I am very happy to be given the opportunity to share my cards with other IBFS fans!

Today I am showcasing the Flower of the Month - June’s Rose!

I colored my image with alcohol markers, using colors I thought were on the vintage side.  If you look closely, you will see that I outlined the entire image in the lightest yellow marker I have.

I then die cut it, and layered it over a scrap of patterned paper I was lucky to have already cut to this size.  The black border helped finish off the card, and coordinate with the sentiment that I heat embossed in gold.

The stamps I used today are available in the IBFS store.  The rose is available in a regular size and a jumbo version.  The one I used is the regular size.  My sentiment is from the Bubblewrap, Lattice and Flowers set.

Thanks for stopping by!  I will see you again next week, but come back often to see all the creations from the entire IBFS team.  Have a great day!
