I Brake for Black and White!

 Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a card that I really love.
I think the color combo of black & white is so elegant.
Half my wardrobe is that color.

I used several different stamps on my card.

The bird and branch with berries is from 141A.
The birthday verse is from Every Day Phrases.

The roses are called June Rose Jumbo.

The butterfly is from Things With Wings.
I stamped the butterfly twice so that I could pop his wings up.
It's tough to see but the berries have crystal stickles on them.

I Brake for Roses!

Hello from designer Heidi! I hope you are having a good week!

I started this card by heat embossing the decorative iron stamp on regular white cardstock.  I then sponged over top with Distress Oxide ink, light blue in the center and periwinkle around the outside.

I stamped my main image, June’s Rose, and then colored the leaves and stems first with colored pencils.  Then I used shimmery chalks to color the flowers.  That is always a fast way to color. I fussy cut this out.

Finally, I heat embossed my sentiment on black and popped it up over the images.

You can buy the stamps I used on this card in the I Brake for Stamps store.

I Brake for Lighthouses!

Hello and happy Tuesday!

Today I'm sharing MS97 from I Brake for Stamps.  I used this sheet to make a birthday card.

I used 4 images from the set and then stamped Happy Birthday from the Every Day Phrases set.  I was able to cut the center out of the lifesaver so that I could perch it on the corner for a 3-D look.  The oars were colored with Marvy markers.  I just Googled painted oars and found some that I liked and copied them.

I Brake for Drums!

Hello from designer Heidi!  Today I am sharing a cool card I made for a drum-loving kid!  I think I will use this for his birthday.

The background was made with Colorburst Liquid Metals and cling wrap.  You can find the instructions here.

I stamped the drum image from Music Sheet set with Versafine black ink, and then heat embossed with sparkle embossing powder.  In real life, the image looks crisp, but then when the light hits it, you see all the sparkle.  I also stamped a couple music notes on the background to balance out the space in that corner and add to the theme of the card.

The sentiments are from the large Inspirational Phrases set. I stamped another phrase from the set inside, over top of a lightly stamped music notes.

Thanks for visiting today!  Keep on stamping!

I Brake for Tulips!

 Hello and happy Tuesday!

I'm trying to hold on to the last little bits of flowers for the year.  Fall is already beginning here in upstate N.Y.  The leaves are starting to turn.

On my card I used Tulips.

I Brake for Stamps has an AMAZING selection of flower stamps.
I tried to color these to match some that I planted in my yard.  They've only bloomed once. Three...out of 60 bulbs!  The deer gobble them up before they even flower.  It's quite sad!  So...I make cards with tulips on them to brighten my day.

I Brake for Skies!

Hello from design team member, Heidi!  I would like to share a little tip for getting a pretty cloudy sky for your stamped image.  Use a scalloped die cut. I used these ovals, in two sizes.  That way I have a smaller scallop and a larger one.
I used a sponge and tumbled glass distress ink to light stencil over this home made mask.  You could easily use a circle, but the I picked the oval so I would have more angles to use.  It also feels good to get more use out of my dies.

I then just stamped over top with my silhouette meadow flowers, sponging some green from below.

The stamps I used are Half Sheet 137A, and Thank You sentiment.

I Brake for Butterflies!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card that I made just to add to my stash.

I just received the set Things With Wings.

I used a large and a small matching butterfly from the set.

I stamped the images on some very thin pink handmade paper that had some gold metallic flecks in it and then added some detail with some Marvy markers.  They're so delicate and beautiful in person...like a real butterfly.

I Brake for Music!

Hello!  There are a bunch of musicians in my family so I am often drawn to the music themed stamps. I like this collage stamp because it is a little different.

I stamped onto pink cardstock and then distressed the edges of all my papers with brown ink.  I also added some water marks to age the stamped image further.

This Music Collage set has some wonderful sentiments, but right now I need Thank You notes so I used this sentiment stamp inside instead.

Thanks for visiting today!  Keep on stamping!

There's on in every crowd!

Hello and happy Saturday!

This is one of my all-time favorite stamps.
My sister's birthday is next Sunday and I thought she'd enjoy this.  She prides herself on being unique.

The inside says "There's one in every crowd."
Happy Birthday!
I just love the "side eye" glances the fun bird is getting!
