I Brake For Snowboarding Bears

Hi Everybody!  Regina here....

I think I am probably finished with the Christmas cards this year so now it's time to move on to the fun winter images.  I am using an image from I Brake For Stamps called Snowboarding Bear, by Rick St. Dennis. It comes in Rubber Stamp or Digi.  I love that you can get most of the images from I Brake For Stamps in both rubber and digi so if you need an image right away, you can choose the digital image option and have it emailed if you can't wait for the stamp to be mailed.

The main difference in the girl bear version and the boy is that I used Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor paints for the girl and Kuretake Zig Real Brush Markers for the boy.  

I did a little bit of sponging with some gray distress ink to give some shadow and depth.  I added glossy accents to the board and goggles to add some shine and dimension.

I hope I inspired you to start thinking about your winter themed cards.  This would make a great image for a boy or girl's birthday that falls during the wintertime.

I Brake for Christmas Wishes!

Here's my latest holiday card featuring Good Morning Sunshine from the fabulous and funny Humorous Senior Collection of stamps (I Brake for Stamps). I think Good Morning Sunshine is incredibly versatile and can see myself using her for all sorts of projects from birthday to congratulations to snarky cards.

Good Morning Sunshine was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko) onto Neenah cardstock, colored with Copic markers, fussy-cut, and edged with a Black Pitt Artist pen (Faber Castell). Good Morning Sunshine was also stamped onto a patterned paper from the Christmas Wish 6x6 pad (My Mind's Eye) because I wanted to paper-piece her bathrobe. The patterned paper was colored and shaded with Copic markers, fussy-cut, edged with the same black pen. The robe was then adhered over its counterpart on the main image. A touch of pink chalk pencil (Derwent) was used to add blush to her cheeks.

The patterned papers, from the 6x6 pad, were layered according to Sketch #391 from Sketch Saturday Challenges. All edges were sponged with Black Soot Distress ink (Ranger).

One of the dies from the Twilight Snowflakes die set (Memory Box) was used to die-cut from white cardstock, which was then adhered in place according to the sketch. Sentiments were added using Christmastime Remnant Rubs (Idea-ology) to finish the card.

I Brake For Candle Light

{jane bosi}  Happy Monday, Brakers!!  My share today features a water colored image called Vintage Candle.  I wanted the project to have a mixed media feel to it so, I added several layers which was pretty simple since I used water color paper and water based inks in addition to my peerless water colors.  After water coloring the candle image, I masked it off and stamped over the entire panel using the wood grain background from Wood Background Half Sheet.  Because my ink was also water based, I was able to go over the lines of the wood grain image to blur and blend giving the background a shabby look.  Next, I randomly inked portions of the We Wish You Background and added it to the left hand edge.  To mute the text a bit, I ran a finger full of gesso over parts of it, further adding to the overall shabby look.

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing another holiday card.  I used two stamps from I Brake For Stamps on my card. The image on the front is SNOWMAN AND FRIENDS.

I love this little country snowman and his furry friends.

IBFS has an amazing selection of Christmas stamps.

On the inside I used the verse SNOWMEN TEXT.

Season Greeting IBFS fans !!

It's Crystal here with another Christmas card to get you in the Holiday spirit , Christmas is fast approaching ( don't I know it ) and its time to get the cards in the mail , cards don't have to be layers and layers to get that wow , here its all about a great image you color and add a few embellishments ,the digital stamp image I used today is You'd Better Not Pout  , so so cute...

I copic colored my image  , added a DEC 25th die cut and some holly and berries , some bakers twine and a jingle bell , I like sparkle on my christmas cards so I added a hologram white glitter to his fur trim to make it pop and Im done ....

for the inside  , I embossed my layer and rubbed green chalk over the make the embossing pop and then added some red glitter stickle and a Season's greeting die cut ...

I Brake For Pine Spray Frames

Hi everybody!  Regina here..... This week I needed to make a few masculine cards so I thought this stamp from I Brake For Stamps called Pine Spray Frame would be perfect.  I like that you can put any sentiment you want in the frame or even a photo.  Wouldn't a photo be super cute?

I colored the stamp with Copics and it really came to life and then I  fussy cut it out.  I used Glossy Accents on the die to give it some shine and dimension and Stickles on the bells, added a few glittered enamel dots and made a great card for women or men.

I Brake for Santa and Stampinback!

Once again, I was feeling like creating a scenic card so I pulled out my Cats and Buildings stamps (Stampinback)  which I got at I Brake for Stamps.  Cats and Buildings is a half sheet that has two different scenes of Dutch buildings (Amsterdam?) and a great cats stamp.

I recently used one of the two Dutch buildings stamps from the Cats and Buildings stamps half sheet, so it was time to use the other one. I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko) onto Solar Crest White cardstock (Neenah) and onto Eclipse Tape (Judikins). The Eclipse Tape version was fussy-cut and set aside while I colored the other impression with Copic markers. After coloring the buildings, the Eclipse Tape version was placed onto its counterpart while I colored a night sky with B63, B66, and B69 Copic markers. With the mask still in place, I dipped a toothbrush into some Titanium White Media Fluid Acrylic paint (DecoArt), then sprayed some white stars over the sky. The mask was removed and a sidewalk and canal were added with Copic markers. A touch of white gel pen (Sakura) was used to add some white caps to the water.

Black Glittery cardstock was die-cut with Santa's Sleigh die (Frantic Stamper). White cardstock was die-cut with one of the dies from the Clouds die set (Joy Crafts) and one of the dies from the Circles Nestabilities die sets (Spellbinders). The Clouds die-cuts were detailed with C01, C0, and C00 Copic markers. The circle (moon) was detailed with the Clear Stardust Glitter pen (Sakura). The scene was assembled, then the image panel was die-cut with one of the dies from the Rectangles die set (WeRMemory Keepers).

The image panel was adhered to a piece of patterned paper from an old Echo Park 6x6 pad. The sentiment was die-cut from the excess colored cardstock using a Merry Christmas die (All Occasions). Patterned paper from the same pad was die-cut with the Stitched Strip die from the Blueprints Two die set (Die-namics) and one of the dies from the Fancy Framed Tags die sets (Spellbinders). Stardust Glitter Gel pen was used to add some sparkle to both of them.

The card was assembled, some black photo corners (3L) were added, and I called the card done!

I Brake For Gifts You Can Make

{jane bosi}  Happy Monday, Brakers!!!  We are in full swing with this Christmas Spirit thing!  With my shopping just about done, my thoughts are on gifts I can make.  'Tis the season for gift making, afterall!

I made these particular tiles a bit ago.  Combined with a bottle of the receiver's favorite beverage, they are the perfect gift!

 You can find the blank tiles at most home maintenance type stores.  Each main image is stamped with black stazon ink and then colored in with Copic markers.  Copic markers are not typically recommended for use with stazon.  As both are alcohol based inks, they will bleed into each other some.  The trick is to color just inside the lines and lightly feather the ink.  I typically heat set my tiles at 350 degrees for about 15-30 minutes.  Using the alcohol based ink eliminates the potential of the color running or fading when the tiles are in use.

I Brake For Beautiful Weddings!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a wedding card that I made for our friend's daughter.  We didn't attend the wedding so since I didn't know her colors I went with something fairly neutral.

There are four images/verses from I Brake For Stamps on my card.

On the front I used TOASTING GLASSES and EVERY DAY PHRASES.

There are Stickles on the glasses to mimic the bubbles in the "bubbly!"

The bottom panel has an IBFS verse called LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE.

Here's what the inside looks like with all 3 panels.

On the inside panel that folds down I also used WILD ROSE.

I Brake For Frosty and Friends

Hi everybody!

Regina here with a cute snowman card.  I love snowmen!  I love making cards with them throughout the months of December, January, and February.  I like the stamp I'm using today for the month of December.  It is from I Brake For Stamps and is called, Frosty and Friends.  It comes in rubber stamp and digital image as well.  

I used Recollections 110# white card stock for the base.  The patterned paper background is from Echo Park called Dots and Stripes, Christmas Collection.  I colored the image with Copics, the one I used is a digi.  I like digis because I can size them however I want.  I used some white Liquid Pearls to dot the snow flakes, Glossy Accents on the buttons on face and chest and A Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen on the hat and scarf to give a subtle sparkle.  I used various dies, and used Glossy Accents for the adhesive, sprinkled the flakes on the glue, shook off excess. I really like the iridescent look.

Did I inspire you to make cards with snowmen on them?  I like how versatile the stamp is.  It can be used for a Merry Christmas type card to a Winter Wonderland card.

I Brake for Bunnie, Bearing a Gift!

It's December and the beginning of that crazy time of year, known chez Kathi as ChrisBirthdayKah. As such, I'll be scrambling for various ways to give gift cards and other small gifts (jewelry, candy, tickets). This Pillow Box features Bunnie/ATC Diva. and will be used for a Dunkin' Donuts gift card.  Bunnie is one of a bunch of fabulous ATC Divas rubber stamps by Rubber Romance that are available at I Brake for Stamps.

Bunnie was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Tsukineko/Imagine Crafts) and colored with Copic markers to match a sheet of plaid paper from the Eskimo Kisses 6x6 pad (Basic Grey). After coloring the background, the image panel was die-cut with a die from the Rectangles set of dies (QuicKutz/WeR). A die from the Long Scalloped Rectangles Nestabilities die set (Spellbinders) was used to die-cut a piece of patterned paper from the Eskimo Kisses 6x6 pad (Bsic Grey). 

Green cardstock was die-cut with the Pillow Box Alterations die (Sizzix). Patterned paper from the same pad and scraps from red patterned paper was die-cut with the Poinsettia die (QuicKutz) then shaped with tools. The flowers were stacked with the petals offset, then attached with gold brads. These were placed on the top of the pillow box. A piece of patterned paper from the Eskimo Kisses pad was folded, then die-cut with one of the dies from the Heart Nestabilities die set (Spellbinders). A smaller Scalloped Heart Nestabilities die (Spellbinders) was used to die-cut another scrap from the same pad. The die-cuts were edged with Fired Brick and Spun Sugar Distress ink (Ranger). A scrap of leftover green cardstock was die-cut with the "4" from the Vintage Numbers die (Top Dog Dies). and the "U" from the Vintage Alphabet die (Top Dog Dies).

I assembled the project, now all I need to do is find the Dunkin' Donuts card which is hidden in a safe place a Black Hole.
