I Brake for Big, Beautiful, Butterflies!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card that my friend asked me to make for her sister-in-law.

I've used XLG Butterfly.
What I love about this guy is that there are endless possibilities as to the color combinations you can use.  I don't know Diane's favorite color and I was in the mood for purple so purple she gets!

I've only glued the body down.  The wings are "popped" up and can be fluttered.
I had wanted to color a second one and layer them to make it even more dimensional but I ran out of time.  I'll have to try it when I have more time.

I Brake for Giraffes!

Hello from design team member, Heidi!  I need a few kids cards soon, so I thought I would give this funny giraffe image from Mostly Mice Sheet a try!

I colored the image with markers and cut it out.  I then popped it up over a background I did with a stencil. Then, I used a fun stamp for the birthday sentiment from this set.  I had some enamel embellishments in the shapes of arrows and I thought that would be a fun addition for a tween card.  I’m pretty happy with how this turned out.

Have a wonderful day and keep on stamping!

Stained Glass Sympathy

Hello and happy Monday!

I'm a couple days behind in my post.  I usually post on Saturday but I got side-tracked this past week.  I had a card started for my post only to find out the my husband's boss lost his father to Corona Virus last Monday.  Now I needed a sympathy card.  I switched gears which delayed me a couple of days.  I made this for his boss and his family.

I used STAINED GLASS FLORAL CIRCLE to make their card.
It's part of the Stained Glass series at IBFS.

Two days before his father passed away my husband's boss found out that he and his wife both have the disease as well.  They thought they were doing fine but his wife has since been admitted to the hospital. It's been a rough week for this family.  I feel like I should get another card out to them soon.

Hope you're all staying healthy and finding a little extra time to craft.  Every dark cloud has a silver lining right?

I Brake for May Flowers!

The birth flower for May is the Lily of the Valley and it is also my favorite flower.  I have a big patch blooming outside my window.  I love this flower for its delicate look, its wonderful fragrance and how pretty it is for a wedding bouquet.  Or any spring bouquet!

This stamp was simply colored with markers. I die cut out the tag shape and then sponged over the die with light blue ink.  I used some script patterned paper and then decided that was all this card needs. This image is too pretty to cover up with any embellishments.

This stamp is found in this size and a jumbo size in the I Brake for Stamps store.

Thank you for visiting today!  Keep on stamping!

I Brake for even more birds!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing the card that I made for my Mother-in-law for Mother's Day last week.

I know I just used these birds to make cards for some shut ins and a woman who is making masks and distributing them for free but I just love this image so much.

This stamp is from the sheet called 141

I used a wood grain paper to matte the image because I like how it looked with the brown on the birds. I thought the light yellow background paper was perfect for Mother's Day.

I Brake for Tropical!

I was in the mood for something summery, yet still clean and simple.

I first stamped my flower from the By The Sea sheet onto a background of smooshed Distress Oxide inks.  I trimmed this out.  Then I used the small shell from the same set and created a little patterned paper on kraft cardstock.

I wanted to fill a void in my card stash so I used this Get Well Soon sentiment from Baubles, Doily and Words sheet.  A clean card like this one could be used for almost any occasion.

You can find those stamps at the I Brake for Stamps store.

Have a good day and keep on stamping!

I Brake for Gnomes!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing the card that I made for my mom for Mother's Day.

My mom absolutely loves to tend to her flowers.  Her yard is her pride and joy.
I wish I had inherited that from her. I hate to garden and my yard could use the help!

There are a ton of cute gnomes and mushrooms on this sheet.
I used one of the mushrooms on the inside of the card.
I won't be able to spend the day with her but we'll chat and I'll be with her in spirit.

I Brake for Ducks!

Hello! Coming here with a masculine card to share today!  This is the time of year I start looking for baby ducks in the local ponds, lakes and waterways.  They are fun to watch.  Thinking of that made me think of this fantastic duck scene, called Mallards.

I colored this with markers, but I was thinking as I went along that it would be a good stamp for an easy, loose watercolor look, also.  I used some neat, outdoorsy papers for the background.  I have a lot of male relatives that would like this for a birthday card, but I left the sentiment off, just in case I need to use it for a thank you instead.

Thank you for visiting today!  Keep on stamping!

I Brake for Birds!

Hello and happy Saturday!

I've been making cards to send to people who are all alone during this quarantine and found out that one woman likes birds.
I love birds and knew that I wanted to use
141A Birds and 141B Bird Nests.

I embossed the card base to give it some subtle texture behind my main image.

On the inside I used a couple more images from the sets and I used a verse from the Every Day Phrases set.

Have any of you been sending cards to brighten someone's day?
