{jane bosi}  Happy Monday!  It's time to start (or finish?) those Christmas cards!  I know lots of folks like to pick a design and then make multiple cards to send out.  Seeing as I bore easily and don't send to a gigantic number of people, I like each of my cards to be unique.  Also, I have a huge collection of images and feel like they should all get a turn!

For this card, I selected the beautiful, Christmas Image, as the focal point.  I started by stamping the manger image and then masking it.  I added the For Unto Us background stamp using distress ink and then ran my water brush over to create a sky like effect.  The rest of the image is colored using distress inks to water color, as well.

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card with you.  I've been trying my hand at water coloring a little bit lately and thought these flowers might look good done that way.

I used 2 different stamps from I Brake For Stamps.

There are some Stickles on the insides of the flowers.  I also stamped the image twice so that I could pop  up the flower petals and the butterfly wings.

 

I used part of the flower to decorate the inside of the card too.

It's Crystal here and I am still making Christmas cards to add to my long list going out this year . Today card I an using Snow Time like the Holidays digi stamp  a Rick St Dennis digital stamp found in the I Brake for Stamps store .

I cut him out using my Brother Scan N Cut2

I used Tim Holtz distress ink to create my water-color back ground , I used Chipped Sapphire ,Stormy Sky and Tumble glass I smashed ink pad on a teflon craft mat spritzed water and then dragged water-color paper 140 lb. and heat dried and dragged it thru many more times drying in between until I achieved to color depth I needed .

I used Tim Holtz Holiday Words  dies in script and then added glossy accents to make then pop , the snowflake boarder is a on the Edge die from Tim Holtz  , don't throw away the negative piece when you make your cut I used it on the inside  , too pretty to trash it ..

see how pretty , I'll add my inside sentiment later as this can be a Christmas card  or a thank you card or a Hello card anything you really need a cute snowman card for .

I Brake For Skating Santa

Hi everybody!  Regina here and I am back from vacation, trying to get back in the groove.  I went to Hermann, Missouri.  There are wineries there and we stayed in a very nice Inn, B&B.  It is so beautiful there in the fall.  This year, we got a room with a nice size deck and a fire pit.  It was awesome!  

Well, it seems that shaker cards are all the rage right now so I made one this week.  This is only my second time making one of these.  Not sure why I don't make them more often but since I have so many sequins, seed beads, etc., I might as well put them to good use and start making them.  

I used a stamp from I Brake For Stamps called, Skating Santa.  There is also a digital version for Skating Santa.  He looked like so much fun to me!  

 Originally I was going to make an ice skating pond and somehow that morphed into this shaker card so the circle is supposed to be what he is skating on.  When I think of Santa, I think of a magical time and believing in things you cannot see so that is where the word, believe came into play here, using red, foil card stock and a Tim Holtz die.  I colored Santa with Copics.  I put some Diamond Stickles on his vest and Red Glitter Stickles on the berries.  I added glossy accents to his skates and gloves to make them shiny.  I used a metallic Sakura pen called Silver Star to color the blades of the skates.  I used a marker called a Snow Marker on his hat.  These are so much fun to use!  You just dot some ink on the area, wait until it dries some and then use a heat gun on it and it poofs up.  The last picture shows the snow pen part on the hat better.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder with snowflakes and sponged with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink, Tumbled Glass, some heavy, some lightly.  

I used a piece of acetate that I cut off of a package that some card making supplies were in for the window of the shaker card.  You can use transparencies or you can also buy the windows especially for shaker cards, I want to try those.  I put some fun foam behind the backing behind the window secured with glossy accents and scor-tape.  I added various sequins, seed beads, etc., inside the window and popped Santa up on pop dots.  Finally, I added some red glitter enamel dots to the two corners.

I Brake For Different

{jane bosi}  I am totally in love with this Large Unicorn image.  We have a love/love relationship with the unicorn in my house......you may remember this shirt I created with the same image this summer.  What a great time that was!  You can also get the shirt size unicorn as a digital image :)  You.  Are.  Welcome!

I water colored some broken china distress ink on a piece of water color paper to start.  When that was completely dry, I added some 2-way glue and glitter......what's a rainbow colored unicorn without glitter, afterall?   It's so sparkly in real life! 

I stamped the unicorn, also on water color paper, and used various distress inks and my aqua brush to color it in.  Dare to be Different was the perfect finishing touch!

I Brake for Angels ..

Hello IBFS fans !!

It's Crystal here and today I made a Christmas card using the digi stamp Peace Angel by Rick St Dennis from I Brake for Stamps online store.  Foiling is all the rage currently so I decided to play with some gold foil on this angel .

First I copic colored her and the fussy cut her out with my Brother Scan N Cut 2

see how perfect this machine can cut your digi stamp or hand stamped images , I had it cut right on the line and look at the hole no black left behind it cut perfectly

so now that we have her cut out I got out my toner marker to make the areas want gold , I need to color them with this black toner marker first , I did the stars and the wings and the swirls in the neckline and sleeves

I ran her thru the laminator with a gold deco foil sheet , well I was not thinking but I print my digi stamps on a laser printer that uses black toner  ( it is copic marker friendly to print digi's on a laser printer )and guess what happened, something I call a "Happy Accident " , it gold foiled almost all the line work on the image , I am trying to capture the gold shiny beauty of this image she is truly heavenly looking ...

I Brake For Decorating Inside Christmas Cards

Hi everybody!  Regina here.... I've seen several people post in different card groups, asking where to get good stamps for insides of cards and what are different ways to decorate insides of cards.  That is what this week's post is about.  I want to give examples of a few different stamps that can be used inside or outside the cards as well.  

I love this stamp from I Brake For Stamps called Best Wishes Christmas Tree.  I embossed this one in silver but it would look just as nice stamped in a colored ink such as red or green.  I will use this inside a card.

I know I don't like to write a lot in a card so this says it all, you can just sign your card with your name. 


I like this stamp called Holiday Wishes because it is a large size.  You can use this on the outside or inside.  I am using it inside and just signing my name and Merry Christmas.  I used Tim Holtz Festive Berries ink to stamp but I went over parts of the letters with a Sakura Red Star glitter pen.

I used a background stamp for this one with a Bible Verse.  It is called For Unto Us Background.  This one could also go out or inside and can stamp in different colors or emboss.  I used a Crafter's Companion die called Christmas Blessing with this one.

I Brake for Seniors making Public Service Announcements!

Read My Lips Lucille, from the fabulous and funny Humorous Senior Collection of stamps (I Brake for Stamps)  wants you to vote today. Lucille doesn't even care who you vote for, just as long as you vote. After all, if you don't vote, you can't complain. These days, complaining seems to be a very popular activity by Lucille and other people! Additionally, it's your right and your privilege to vote, so go do it!

Lucille was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Tsukineko/Imagine Crafts). First I colored Lucille's sweater and dress in E43, E42, and E41 Copic markers. I grabbed a knit orphan sock, put some Colorless Blender on it, then pressed it onto the colored sections. Instant knit texture on both the cardigan and dress! I finished coloring Lucille, fussy-cut her, edged her with black marker, and used gold gel pen to add a touch of gold to the buckle of her bag and the clasps of her sweater. Startdust glitter pen (Sakura) was used to add glitter to her glasses, since does like her glitter!

Blue cardstock and patterned paper from an old 6x6 pad by Authentique was die-cut with two of the dies from the 5x7 Card Creator Nestabilities (Spellbinders) die set. Antique Linen Distress ink (Ranger) was used to cover the white edges of the patterned paper. The image panel was adhered to the matted blue cardstock.

A piece of star-patterned paper from the same pad was die-cut with the Mermaid font die (Die-Versions). The second part of the sentiment was created with blue Dymo tape and my Dymo Caption Maker). 

The tape sentiment was adhered to a 3.75" x 5.75" piece of patterned paper from the same 6x6 patterned paper pad. The matted image panel was adhered atop the Dymo tape sentiment and the die-cut letters were added to the top. The letters didn't stand out enough, so I used a fine tip Multi-Liner (Copic) to outline the die-cut letters. The edges of the panel were sponged with Fired Brick Distress ink then matted onto a piece of  4" x 6" navy cardstock.

I Brake For Einstein

{jane bosi}  Happy Monday!  Imagination is more important than knowledge!!!  Famous quote from a man full of imagination and persistence!!  I am loving the brand new sheets available now in the I Brake For Stamps store!  So many fun and arty images!

I've used images from several of the sheets to complete my project.  The background, features the larger eye chart image from the Glass and Eye Chart Sheet.  Since I'm always experimenting with inks and other product....this time it was a resist using the larger eye chart image and various dylusions sprays.  I was lucky enough to find an interesting piece of designer paper scrap to finish off the background.  A quick frame and the Einstein image, from the Einstein half sheet,  pulled everything together.  I can't wait to play some more with these images!

Today I'm sharing a gift box that I made featuring a verse from an I Brake For Stamps set.  The set's called Pinecone Heart Collage Quarter Sheet.

I thought this would be a great little box for a cupcake, muffin, cookies or any little treat or toy.

When you untie the ribbon the box opens from the top.
