I Brake for Dinosaurs!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a card that I made for a 2nd grade boy at my school.
I work in his mom's classroom and I know he has recently become obsessed with dinosaurs.  I used an image from the Carmen Medlin line and hand-wrote the speech bubbles.

This set is called Me and My Lil Buddy and it's from the Curiosities 3 Set.
Hopefully Henry enjoys puns the way I do!!

I also made a slightly less 2nd grade version below for a friend of mine.
I know this will make her laugh.  We're all stressed due to the state of the world right now but I think a little humor will help us get through this together...yet socially distanced!! lol!!

I Brake for Nautical!

Hello!  I have a set of 3 cards that were easy to put together. I used a template that turns your 2 sheets of patterned paper into 3 cards.  The cut guide and sketches are here.

I decided that I would use stamps from By the Sea Rubber Sheet.  This is a really great set of stamps! These were made in a pretty straightforward way, the only one that requires some explanation is the fish.  I had some dendritic paintings in my stash. (This link shows an introduction to the kind of painting.)   I stamped the fish over top of this with Staz On ink and fussy cut him out.  I had used some lumiere paint that I thought looked shiny like scales.

I Brake for Bravehearts!

Hello and happy Tuesday!

Today I'm sharing two cards that I made for my nieces.
I have 4 nieces total and there are 4 Bravehearts so this is just perfect!

I'll share the other two cards soon.
They are very similar but done with pink.

Each set comes with an inspirational verse.
Each of my nieces is so unique so I have no idea who will get this one.

They're also all pretty fearless...they dance, do gymnastics, act in plays etc.  All of the verses apply to each of them so it really won't matter which one they get.

I just wanted to do something to brighten their day during this time of quarantine. They won't be expecting to get something in the mail and I think it will put a smile on their face.

I Brake for Kissing! (Stamp Kissing, that is...)

Hello!  I decided we could all use a little love right now so I used stamp kissing on my card.

This stamp kissing is a little different.  Did you know you can use lots of different things to kiss a stamp.  One of my personal favorites is just using a sheet of textured cardstock.  This allows me to “kiss” with ANY size stamp.

My background was made with a stencil and brusho powders.  I tore the matting around my stamped image to give some texture even though my card is flat.

You can purchase this stamp as a single stamp HERE or as part of a set HERE.

Thank you for visiting today!  Keep on stamping!

I Brake for Daisies!

Hello and happy Saturday!

My sister-in-law has a birthday on St. Patrick's Day which is pretty close to Spring so I wanted to make a nice, cheery card for her.

I've used images from 2 half sheets.
Floral Half Sheet 148A
Floral Half Sheet 148B

I love the zig-zag stems on these beauties!
It makes them seem fun.

I used 3 images from the two sets.  There is such a variety of combinations you could make with these. You could also mask some off to create even more options.  On the inside I also used one of the verses that comes on 148A.

I Brake for Fashion!

Hello, Stampers!

Today I finished up this card using a couple mediums and stamp sets.  It was fun to make.

First, I heat embossed the doily image with white powder on watercolor paper. I used Brusho Powders to create this bright background!

Second, I heat embossed the fashion lady on grey cardstock.  I took some purple Perfect Pearls and added a bit of water to them to make a paint. I painted this on the flowers using a fine liner brush.  It looks so shiny in person!

I Brake for Dr. Ben!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a get well card.  We've had a rash of surgeries where I work and I needed some get well cards.  I whipped out Dr. Ben Dover from the Humorous Seniors line at I Brake for Stamps.

The Get Well verse is from the Every Day Phrases set.
I've been trying to use some of my older supplies.  I have so much stuff just sitting there not getting used and it's such a waste.  This time I used one of my Fastenator staples.  Do any of you remember those?  I have a HUGE bin of the staples.  They were and still are so cute and hopefully I'll put them to use now.

I Brake for Music!

Hello! I would love to showcase this neat Music Sheet set full of great silhouette images.  I have a teen who is beginning to love making music, so my first cards are using the guitars and amplifier images. I think this is a great set to create for teens and music lovers.

I also love that this is an easy stamping project: just cardstock, stamps and inks.  Sometimes simpler is better for teen cards. I created my own patterned paper using the images and then added some great sentiments.  The white card does have an accent of a red guitar as the nod to “daring to be different.”

The sentiments come from these sets:
Dare to Be Different (sentiment only)

Thank you for visiting the blog today!  Happy Stamping!
