I Brake for Sunflowers!

Hello!  I am feeling a fall vibe today and wanted to make a card using sunflowers.

I stamped out the sunflower from Bubble Wrap, Lattice and Flowers sheet onto yellow cardstock. I did sponge some brown around the edge after I fussy cut it out.

My background is made with Brusho powder in Sandstone. I stamped my sentiment from Inspirational Plate #2 and then added some copper colored Nuvo drops to finish it off.

Thanks for visiting us today, and keep on stamping!

I Brake for lazy days fishing!

 Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I've made a sweet gnome card. I just love mushrooms so much and if they come with an adorable gnome on top who's fishing...even better!

I used the large fishing gnome from MS123 Gnomes Sheet.

I also used a smaller pair of mushrooms from the sheet as well as a fish from MS97 Full Plate.

I love all the colors mushrooms come in.  In my woods we have brown, black, white, pink, red, purple and a bright, golden yellow-orange.  I've even learned how to pick wild Chanterelles in the last few years.  I hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

I Brake for December Narcissus!

Hello and don’t mind the title of this post too much. Happy November!  But since Halloween has now passed, it is high time for me to get moving on Christmas cards.  This stamp is called December Narcissus.

I colored this simply with markers, then die cut it out.  I layered it over some Christmas papers and added a sentiment from the large Inspirations Phrases set.  I did use a little corner punch on that sentiment strip and I think that turned out cute.

Have a wonderful day and keep on stamping!

I Brake for Rudolph and Christmas!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a holiday card with you.  This Rudolph image is one of my favorites from I Brake for Stamps.  The verse is from the full sheet Every Day Phrases.  I decided to go monochromatic for this one.  I just purchased the cable knit sweater embossing folder and thought it would be perfect for a Christmas card.  It turned out more subtle than I'd hoped in the photo but his scarf is a very pale blue and green.

I Brake for Smiles!

Hello from design team member, Heidi!  Today I have a fun card to share with you. I had made some prints using my gelli plate, stencils and acrylic paints, and I wanted to find some bold, but pretty stamps to use over top.

The stamps in the Old and New set were perfect for this!

Thanks for visiting and keep on stamping!

I Brake for Blue Birthday Sunflowers!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing the card that I made for my two nieces.
I used Beautiful Sunflower and Every Day Phrases.
The 16 was made using some Old Blue Fusible Glitter Sheet paper.

They were born 12 days apart and will be 16 this November. I asked my sisters what their favorite color is right now and they both said blue so I just made two of the exact same cards.

They both love music and so I added the notes, so they will hopefully picture me singing Happy Birthday to them. I also added the road die from Technique Tuesday and a little car since they'll be 16.

I Brake for Coffee!

Hello from design team member Heidi!  I have been feeling very low energy lately, so I decided to make a card with one of my favorite, most energizing themes.  Coffee!

I started with a background created with Colorburst powders.  This background is really pretty in person.  It is gloomy today so my camera just didn’t capture the depth of the colors.  I stamped over the background with dark brown Versafine ink with the coffee cup image.

The focal image is one of my favorite stamps.  It just makes me laugh.  This was stamped on a kraft cardstock with brown ink, and then I sponged color around the edge of my oval die.

These stamps are part of Coffee Rubber Sheet.

Thanks for visiting and keep on stamping!

I Brake for Harvest Bear

 Hello and happy Monday!

Fall is most definitely in the air where I live and I love it!!

Today I'm sharing HARVEST SHY BEAR. He can be found on his own or on full sheet MS49.

I love all of the fun things people do with pumpkins now.  Elaborate carvings, painting them fun colors, adding embellishments.  It's just so FUN!!
I decided to go blue!

I Brake for Crazy Times!

 Hello and happy Saturday!

As some of you may know, I work in an elementary school. We're currently in session 5 days a week with 80% of the students opting for in person learning. The rest are at home and "zooming" in for instruction.

It's been a wild and crazy year and as I was flipping through my IBFS index book I came across this set...Clueless Set.  It can also be found on a sheet with some other fun sets HERE.

I'm pretty sure there's no better sentiment to wrap up the 2020 school year than this verse!!

I fussy cut the image because for this particular card I didn't want the wings and large horns.  I placed it on the counter of our office with a note that said how proud I was to work with such an amazing group of people.

The little flowers are from MS91.

I Brake for Asters!

Hello from design team member, Heidi!  I have a friendship card to share with you today.

I first colored the September Aster stamp with markers.  I cut it out with scissors.  I put this over top of a pastel vellum circle and then popped it up over the card front.  The background paper is actually one I made using the Faux Linen technique.  It is hard to see the texture in the photo, but you first sand glossy paper in both directions and then just add ink over top.

On the inside, I stamped the same image again in light tan ink, and stamped my message from Inspirational Plate #2 over top.  I know just the friend I want to send this to!

Thanks for visiting today and keep on stamping!

I Brake for Thankful Bears!

Hello and happy Saturday!!

Today I'm sharing a thank you card that I made for a co-worker.

She gave me a little "just because" gift yesterday and so I wanted to thank her.

It's probably not well known to most people but I LOVE bees!

I used the bee from Things with Wings and Butterfly Catcher Shy Bear.
The verse is from Every Day Phrases.

On the inside I used Thank You for the verse and
I also used a flower and a leaf from MS91 Full Plate.

I Brake for Halloween Skies!

Hello!  Happy October!  I am not very into Halloween, but I do like to give out candy to trick or treaters. I don’t feel as safe doing that this year, so I wanted to send out cards and maybe a little candy money to some of the special kids in my life.

I used an all-purpose Trees Background stamp here and made it Halloween by using those colors in the sky.  I first punched a circle from masking paper, then sponged my inks on the paper till I got the blend I wanted.  I removed that mask to reveal a moon, and then stamped over top with the Tree stamp.  The sentiment was created with dies.

I have previously used this stamp with blues to create a wintery sky.

Thanks for visiting and keep on stamping!

I Brake for Sunflowers!

 Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a sunshiny card that has no purpose yet.

It may become a birthday card or a thinking of you card...you never know.

I used MS91 to make my card.

I'm torn...a couple weeks ago I made a card with a branch and bee for my son's girlfriend's October birthday.  Her favorite flower is the sunflower though.  Decisions, decisions...I think I'll show them both to him and let him decide what she'd like the most.

I live in the country and have deer and squirrels galore.  I rarely have a sunflower actually bloom but this year I was lucky enough to have several. (well...5)  That's a pretty big accomplishment for my yard.  I'm in love with this wonderful stamp sheet and all the beautiful flowers and leaves.  Check it out at I Brake for Stamps here.

I Brake for Outdoorsy Dogs!

Hello from designer, Heidi!  I just love the wonderful detailed scenes that I Brake for Stamps carries.  Many of them are very appropriate for masculine cards.  Check out the search for “Masculine” and see what you think...

This stamp is called Asleep on the Deck.  I have several recipients in mind who are going to love this scene!

I made a bit of an abstract background for this scene.  I used glossy paper and swiped my inkpads randomly across the paper.  When you wipe the excess ink off, it blends them just so.  You can always repeat the process if you want to add a little more here or there.  Then I stamped right over top with black Memento ink.

I am not sure what occasion I am sending this for, so I left the sentiment off for now. I do think I it could work well for a dog sympathy card.

Thanks for visiting!  Keep on stamping!

I Brake for Shy Bears!

 Hello and Happy Monday!

I thought I'd share a cheerful card to start the week out.

One of my co-workers just started in a new position and I wanted to send her a little note to cheer her on.

I used Mailbox Shy Bear.

The sentiment is from Every Day Phrases.

My friend is in a new school due to Covid-19.  With the need to social distance in the classrooms there was a need to add a teacher to each grade level.  She's enjoying her new room but in these new and trying times I just wanted her to know that I'm thinking of her.

I Brake for Safari!

Hello from designer, Heidi!  I just love this wonderful Safari stamp. I have used it before on the blog and it just is such a great illustration.

This time, I created a background on glossy paper.  I used my mini dye ink cubes, and pressed them directly onto the paper and twisted them so I didn’t get harsh edges. I wiped the excess ink from the paper and then stamped over top with memento ink.

I finished the card as a Clean and Simple look, by matting with black cardstock and adding a sentiment underneath.

The stamps I used are Pride of Africa and sentiment from Inspirational Phrases. Check them out at the I Brake for Stamps store!
