I Brake For Framed Flowers

Hi, Jamie Martin here with you today sharing a friendship card made with Sending Smiles and Funky Cone Flower.  When buying a stamp, keep in mind you don't always have to use all of the stamped image.  The Funky Cone Flower stamp has a pretty swirl background around the flower, but today I'm only using the flower. You can see a card I made HERE that used all of the stamped image.

Here is how my card was made;
1.  Stamp Funky Cone Flower on watercolor paper with Onyx Black VersaFine ink, heat set and color only the flower with Staedtler colored pencils. Cut out the flower only and set aside.
2.  The background panel was made by scribbling different colors of Gelatos on watercolor paper and it was then rubbed with a baby wipe to blend. Once dry, I rubbed Mowed Lawn Distress Ink on my craft mat and picked it up with a wet paint brush and flicked water drops on the panel and let it dry.
3.  Stamp Sending Smiles at the top of the panel with Onyx Black VersaFine ink.
4.  I diecut a frame from black glitter paper and glued it to the panel with Art Glitter glue.
5.  The Funky Cone Flower was popped up over the frame with foam squares.
6.  Black Dot Sparklers were randomly place on the panel.
7.  The panel was layered onto a larger black panel and glued to a white card with Zip Dry Glue.

I hope I have inspired you to look at your stamps differently and to Stamp This!

I (often) Brake for Gnomes

I decided it was time for another bad gnome pun. My card features the Sweeping Gnome from the Gnome Sheet (I Brake for Stamps). The Sweeping Gnome is one of NINE (9) gnomes and a mess of mushrooms on that sheet. It's a Gnoteworthy bargain indeed.

The Sweeping Gnome was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts), fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, and edged with a black marker. He was set aside while I created a snowy gnome home for him.

Red cardstock was die-cut with a dutch door die. Blue shimmery cardstock was inlaid into the window portion of the door. White cardstock was die-cut twice with the urn die from the same set and colored with Copic markers. Green cardstock was punched with an ancient evergreen tree punch.

Hickory Smoke Distress ink was smooshed onto one side of a brick texture embossing folder. Grey cardstock was carefully placed into the embossing folder and run through my diecut machine. The door was adhered to the textured brick cardstock and then to a grey A2 card.

The evergreen trees were adhered to the urns and glitter was added to the trees, the urns, and the step. The Sweeping Gnome was adhered to the card. More glitter was added to his broom to make it look as though he's sweeping the snow away from his doorway.

 Green label tape was run through my label maker to create the sentiment, which was then added to the card.

I Brake For Life Before Coffee

Hi, Jamie Martin here with you today sharing a clean and simple card using the MS79 Full Plate of Coffee and Sayings Set.  Last week I made a coffee card using the same set but it has a completely different look, you can see it HERE.  The card I made last week, was quite a bit more complex so this week I wanted to show that these stamps are also perfect to use if you need a card in a hurry.

Here is how it was made;
1.  Stamp coffee cups three times across the bottom of a white panel with Leaf Archival Ink.
2.  Wrap black and white ribbon around the panel, above the coffee cups.  Diecut a red heart and glue on top of the ribbon.
3.  Stamp the sentiment above the ribbon off to the left side with Leaf ink and add black Nuvo Crystal Drops, set aside to dry. When dry tape to a black card.

I hope I have inspired you to Stamp This!

How Beautiful a Day!

 Hello everyone, and Happy Wednesday to all! Today I have a special card I made while crafting with my nieces last night. My card was created using I Brake for Stamps "How Beautiful a Day" stamp. Love this sentiment, its gorgeous!

I started with stamping it in black ink, and then airbrushing around it in pink and blue. Next I layered it on pink and red card stock. Shaelynn wanted to add some little flowers to the sentiment area, so her and I pick out the 3 little flowers. Then I made the bow, and Shaelynn picked out the red button in the center for the bow.

I used some Valentines design paper, and some red ribbon , that we both chose together.
 I so enjoyed making my card to share today, and hope you enjoyed it too!
Thank you for stopping by, and have a lovely day!
hugs to all,
Cheryl

I Brake For Coffee, Coffee, Coffee!

It's Sunday and time again for me, Jamie Martin to share my card.  I have this really cute coffee shaker card made with stamps from MS79 Full Plate of Coffee and Sayings.  Here is how it was made;

1.  A circle was diecut in a white panel and the coffee beans were randomly stamped with VersaMark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder.
2.  Antique Linen, Tea Dye and Walnut Stain inks were sponged on the panel in the order listed.  When done, rub the coffee beans with a paper towel to remove ink and make it pop. Set aside.
3.  Stamp sentiment with Onyx Black VersaFine Ink on blue paper that is smaller than the coffee bean panel and emboss with clear.
4.  Diecut Fun Foam using a circle die one size larger than used for the coffee bean panel and glue so the opening is over the sentiment.  Add sequins and beads.
5.  Glue acetate to the back side of the coffee bean panel and glue the panel onto the Fun Foam.  Glue to a brown card.
6.  Stamp the coffee cup on watercolor paper with Onyx Black Ink, emboss with clear and color with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.  Cut out and glue to the side of the shaker opening.
7.  Add a few Black Dot Sparklers and your done!

I hope I have inspired you to Stamp This!

I Brake for Cats!

Here's a card featuring Cat Faceone of the great animal stamps by  I Brake for Stamps. I had to have Cat Face because she looks like my late beloved Duchess, who was a Tabby/Ragdoll blend. You can see Duchess in a photo on my blog.

Cat Face was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts) and colored with Copic markers. I was trying to get Cat Face to have her coloration resemble Duchess', but the kitty morphed into a dilute Tortie. I'll be trying again for sure.

Black cardstock was die-cut with a Rectangle Frame die  and a fancy tag die. Letters for the sentiment were die-cut from rust colored cardstock using an alphabet die set.

Since domestic cats are related to wild cats, I decided to use a leopard print patterned paper from ), which I die-cut with a Polaroid die  Black Soot Distress ink (Ranger) was used to edge the die-cut.

I Brake for Stamps has a wide variety of awesome rubber stamps, plus some fabulous digital stamps too. Click on my badge below to be whisked over there to check out all of the goodies!
