I Brake for Retirement ..

Hello IBFS fans !!!
Hello it's Crystal here and today I have made a Retirement card using Beach Baby Burt  , I colored him with colored pencils and baby oil , I added a beach and water to the image and then made some tropical flowers to go with my theme , I totally think he is enjoying his retirement don't you ..hehe

insde my card was left blank until I need it for an occasion

TIP :
ok now for the fun part , I did not have a stamp or die  to say Happy Retirement so I made one on my Silhouette die cutter and cut it from vinyl and used matte clear contact paper to transfer the sentiment to my card , I made it the exact size I needed so don't worry if you ' have a die word make your own way cheaper ... It totally looks hand stamped

I hope my creation with this image as you running to buy it now that I saved you a ton of money on dies   , your welcome .
Thanks so much for stopping by.

I Brake for Beautiful Flowers!

Hello everyone, Cheryl here today with a card I created for I Brake For Stamps using the Beautiful flower from Floral Plate #1 , all the flowers on this plate are absolutely Beautiful!!!

This card was super simple to create! Just did the 1 layer, and then the flower layer, with some ribbon and a bow! Took 10 minutes to create! LOVE making super easy cards when you are in a hurry! I had so much to do before our BIG trip to California to see my new Granddaughter Chloey, and this was 1 of my last cards made that week. Currently we are on the lake outside of Oakdale, and I had to try to get internet from my hubby's ipad so I could post this beauty! Hope you all enjoy!

For this weeks DEALS please visit I Brake For Stamps HERE!
Hugs to all!

I Brake for Wise Owls!

 Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a graduation card that I made for one of Makena's friends.  Her school colors were orange and black so I created a slightly muted version of those.  I absolutely love the GRAD OWL from I Brake for Stamps.

I colored him with Copic markers.
The verse is from EVERY DAY PHRASES.

Inside I used HAPPY GRADUATION.

I Brake For Sunflowers

Hello everyone,
Cheryl here today with a fun Sunflower card I created for I Brake for Stamps using the Beautiful Sunflower stamp found here, its from the New Flower & Strawberry sheet of stamps. I stamped it ,colored it, and then fussy cut it out.
http://ibrakeforstamps.com/flowersandstrawberrysheet.aspx

I LOVE all the stamps on this sheet! I did stamp my image in Memento black ink, and then colored with copics yellows, greens and a brown. Next I fussy cut the sunflower out, that way it could lay on the oval along with the IBFS sentiment.

The IBFS sentiment I used is from the set "Thinking , Happy, Get Well, Thanks" for this one I did airbrush it, and added some pearls in bronze.

I Brake for Bister Butterflies

{jane bosi}  Happy Monday!  I have an earthy butterfly collage to share today that's all colorful and such due to my favorite......bisters!

I'm kind of like a scientist when it comes to bisters.....I keep on experimenting, just sure I am about to make a huge discovery!!  Like, how to keep the colors nicely saturated and colorful.  For this experiment, I spritzed my water color paper first and then added the crystals.  I tried to limit the moisture while still breaking down the crystals.  I'm not sure if you can tell, but I feel like this piece has some of the best color separation I've achieved so far---I can't tell you how many pieces started with all the colors and just ended up brown :(

To finish things off, I added a beautiful collage image called Zebra Butterfly Collage. It has just the right amount of open spaces to show off a colorful background!

I Brake for Grumpy Gretta ...

Hello IBFS fans !!!

It's Crystal here and I thought today I would do one of my favorite techniques , paper piecing ..it reminds me of dressing my paper dolls when I was little. Today's image is called Grumpy Gretta , I colored her in colored pencils and baby oil and copics , her shirt is paper pieced and I always like to add shading to make the piecing pop more , I do this with copic markers . I added g;lossy accent to her glasses . The word bubble is a My Creative Time stitched die , the rectangle layers have a stitched edge and they are from Lil Inkers , the flower and leaves are Botanical builders from Stampin Up

When I found this image in the Humorous Seniors she so reminded me of a Cuban grandma smokin a Cuban cigar so I had to make her tropical and fun , my husband is Cuban and truly love hearing stories from him , our hope is one day we can make a trip to Cuba and see extended family , I would love to see Cuba before it is commercialized , all the picture I see are like time stood still , I love the old cars and the simplicity of life there  , I digress ... my point it sometimes you look at an image and it evokes memories or creative thoughts on how you think things might be  , Grumpy  Gretta has done that for me , go look at all the great images in the I Brake for Stamps online store and look at all the awesome stamps they carry

I hope my creation with this image as you running to buy it or find one you can't live without .

I Brake for Birthdays

Hello everyone, Cheryl here with a card I created using the Beautiful Rose stamp from I Brake For Stamps Floral Plate 1 Collection. Absolutely in LOVE with this collection, as its absolutely Gorgeous, and I LOVE flowers of course :)

On my card for today I chose a different sketch to work with. I thought to do something a little different on this, so you can see all the design papers I used as well as seeing the Roses and Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday is stamped in Memento Black ink
Roses were stamped in black, then colored with SU! markers, lastly fussy cutting 3 out, and adding some stickles to them.
Design paper I used is from Crate Papers Open Book Collection
To embellish I did some sewing, added a BIG bow, and then some Pizzazz Aplenty rimstones.

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!
hugs to all,
Cheryl

I Brake for Dragon Birthdays

{jane bosi} Who remembers Puff the Magic Dragon??  I totally loved that story.  I think I've recently heard random things about a remake movie or something.  Not that it really matters because,  in my head, it is what it is and I love it!!  I'm particularly drawn to this stamp set, Beast Dragon Sheet, exactly because of Puff!

My kiddo had a party to attend so, I thought why not drag out the dragon?  It's a fun little image to water color--and, those balloons!?  Super fun with some water color paints and a little bit of trimming!  I used an inexpensive set of watercolors that dry somewhat chalky.  To perk things up and add a bit of sparkle, I covered the dragon with some glaze and then a light dusting of glitter.  I'm not sure this picture does complete justice...I had a bit of an aged brain moment (no disrespect intended!  And, I qualify since today I'm aging by another year!) and put the wrong water mark on the good picture.  Since I already gave the card away, I had to be flexible and use just an okay pic.  You'll forgive, right?

Anyhooooo.  Get stampy.  Ya know?  Be Awesome--Jane

I Brake for Sympathetic Poppies

Hello and happy Saturday!

I needed a sympathy card last week.  My husband's brother's best friend's dad passed away and my brother-in-law came to stay with us from Hilton Head for the week.  This is the card that I sent with my husband to the funeral.  I had looked up the meaning of poppies and found that they are an expression of sympathy in many countries.

I used an image and two verses from I Brake for Stamps on my card.

I decided to do an open window card so that you could see the verse and part of the inside from the front.

Aren't poppies pretty?
I currently own 5 poppy stamps from IBFS and I plan on adding more to my collection.

Here's the inside of the card with the parts you can't see through the window.
