I Brake for Bull Elks & Birthdays

Hello everyone, and Happy Wednesday to all!
The weather here has been so crazy for the last few weeks, we get hot, then snow, its nuts I tell ya! I can't wait for the weather to at least be back in the high 60's or even 70's hehehehe. Anyways onto my card for today.

So I created this card for I Brake For Stamps  using "Bull Elk" stamp, SCS Sketch Challenge and my son's 23rd Birthday that is coming in April :) It's hard to believe all my kids have grown up, and 2 have moved out. I really don't feel old enough for all that to happen. Life surely does change, and I have to say while I miss them being little , I am now enjoying this part of my life with my dear hubby! :) I have so many wonderful memories of them all being young, and all the time we spent with our kids, taking them to the park daily in the summer, and swimming, playing games on game night, and just enjoying being around them, those memories I will cherish forever!

I truly love making my family cards, not sure how my son feels about getting some of them, as I have given him some cutesy ones before....heehe so having this Bull Elk being more manly , I know he is going to love it! He better!!!HAHAHAHa

My card was by far the quickest most simple card I think I have created .....lol I seriously cut my white card stock 6" x 12, then folded in the center at  6".

Next comes the layers-the black card stock cut at 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", and then I stamped my IBFS image of the Bull Elk in memento black ink and stamped on white card stock, colored him up in copics(E31,E33,E23,E57,E29) and then airbrushed the sky.(B41,B00), & the grass was colored using (G94 & G95. I cut this piece down to 5 1/4" x 3 1/2", Next I cut the 2 other panels of dp to fit on the black layer, and then added my white gel dots. Super fast & Easy!!

I added some Ribbon, Button, Birthday Tag, and some twine to complete my card for today.
 Supplies Used:
I Brake For Stamps /Bull Elk
Bazzill design paper/Timeless
American Crafts /White and Black card stock
Ribbon /button,twine/from my stash
White Gel pen
ATG glue gun
Pebbles /Tag
Update on my Amaryllis flower. I have never seen this bloom before so it was super exciting taking photo's of it daily. I thought it would have 1 bloom(one flower) but it has 4 in each stem. Currently the other stem is working on opening all for, so I will have 8 flowers on this. I am not sure how long they will stay, but I am enjoying the beauty of these! I've had this for 2 years, and this is the 1st year its bloomed for me....hehehehe ok just had to share!

Thank you for looking and have a wonderful day!
hugs,
Cheryl

I Brake for Hats and Blustery Days!

Red Hat Judyone of the fabulous stamps in  I Brake for Stamps' wonderful Humorous Seniors collection, would have been perfect for an Easter bonnet card. Alas, it wasn't meant to be, so I created this card instead since it's been rather blustery all day.

Red Hat Judy was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored with Copic markers. It was die-cut, then sponged with Old Paper Distress ink.

The patterned papers, from an old 6x6 pad by My Mind's Eye, were layered according to a sketch from I Heart Card Sketches. The yellow floral paper was die-cut with an old file index die by QuicKutz. The sentiment is from the Small Talk sticker pad (Idea-ology), which was colored with a Copic marker to make it all matchy matchy.

I Brake for Stamps is where you'll find I Brake for Stamps' wonderful Humorous Seniors collection plus lots of other stamps from other stamp companies. Click on my badge below to be whisked over to I Brake for Stamps to check out all of the goodies!

As soon as I saw the image and verse I thought of my Spellbinders Gears set.  It made me think of the gears on a bike.

I Brake For Victorian Boots & LOVE!

Hello everyone and Happy Wednesday to all!
Cheryl  here today with a card I created for SCS challenge using the BEAUTIFUL  I Brake For Stamps "Victorian Boot"! I also used the beautiful Phrase "Bouquet of Love" , and stamped just the Love for you part on my card. LOVE that about stamping, you can always pick the words if you don't have enough room to stamp all.

My Card Instructions

Card Base-
Cut White card stock 5 3/4" x 11 1/2" and score at 5 3/4" so you can fold in half. Next I cut my blue'ish colored card stock at 5 1/2" x 5 1/2 " and the dp on that at 5 1/4" x 5 1/4".
Card Layers-I then cut a 5 x 5 piece of white card stock to create the frame, using Martha Stewart punch around the page. It will change the size depending on what design you pick, however I always measure the center piece and then cut my dp to fit. so for this punch I did cut my PINK heart Design Paper at 4" x 4". Next I cut another white card stock at 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" and then a piece of the blue ' ish colored card stock at 3" x 3" to fit behind the white top frame. All layers were sewn with the sewing machine and pink thread.

My image was stamped in memento black ink, and then colored with copics. I colored the boot in E37, and then used E29 for the laces. for the flowers I used -RV11,RV34,BG000,B00, & V09 is the  violet. I then added some Eucalyptus colored stickles, and some clear stickles to my image, & then fussy cut my boot and flowers. Lastly I added a vintage feather behind it, and popped it off the main top layer.
Bouquet of Love - I colored the words "Love for You" with Chromatix black pen, and then stamped on the top layer of my card.
Embellishments-Gems, flower brad, vintage ribbon, and a vintage feather
Supplies Used:
White and Blue card stock/Left over AC design Paper & Pebbles dp
Copics for coloring/Stickles for embellishing
Gems, Brad, Vintage Feather, Vintage Ribbon, sewing, Martha Stewart punch around the page

I absolutely LOVE this Victorian boot and coloring it was very easy. It reminds me more and more of spring, and I really cant wait for the flowers to bloom. I do have some tulip's that are coming up right now, and cant wait to see those. They are located in my front yard! Here in Utah, winter months are dull, except when the snow it on the ground, tree's and mountains. In California I was used to everything being green in the winters....heheheeh

I Brake for Dahlias!

It's officially spring and though we had a little snowfall last night, the trees are beginning to bud and bloom, which means that the flowers will not be far behind.

Here's my card with the Quarter Sheet Dahlia (Stampinback) that is available at I Brake for Stamps.

I wasn't very familiar with dahlias until I went to Madrid last fall. While there, we visited a public garden that had a plethora of dahlias in all different colors of the rainbow, plus black and white. Gorgeous!

I Brake for Stamps is where you'll find great selections of Stampinback stamps plus lots of other stamps from other stamp companies. Click on my badge below to be whisked over to I Brake for Stamps to check out all of the goodies!

I Brake For Watercolors

{jane bosi}  Happy Easter Week!  It kind of snuck up on me this year so, instead of a cute bunny (get this one....there's only TWO left!) or a little chick  (this one is going FAST!) or these that you can get RIGHT away, this week, I have flowers!

I love this Kerr jar image and I know I've used a bunch, but it's just so darn fun to color!  I was in the mood to water color--I've been working on the no line water color technique.  You can see the ink I used to stamp this so, I'm not quite there, but I like the finished product just the same ;)

Have a great week!  Be Awesome!  Jane

Screen Shot 2016-03-16 at 11.31.02 PMScreen Shot 2016-03-16 at 11.31.30 PM
I colored my image with copic markers and kept this super simple and let the image be the star it is , I added some fishtail flags and some enamel dots and a bit of twine . I am not sure what kind of fish this may be but I colored him the way a salmon looks in my head lol , while he's pretty anyway.. I think this image is great for Birthday cards and perfect for a Retirement card .
