I Brake For Lilacs and Butterflies.

Good morning peeps, Beth here with a card to share with you using the Bokeh Technique and this gorgeous Butterfly on Lilacs stamp.

I finally achieved a look with this technique that I really liked...I used 3 different retired ink pads from Stampin-Up for my background next I cut 3 different size die cut holes in a piece of transparency to use as a stencil to add my circles that were inked with Whisper White....I then stamped my Butterfly on Lilacs on the background and then on a spare piece of white card stock which I just colored the butterfly with Spectrum's and cut it out to pop-up on my card......sentiment is one of my favorites from IBFS called Nature.

Hope you have enjoyed my card will see you again next Tues.

Hugs
Beth

I Brake For Lighthouses!

Hello and happy Saturday!

I realize that Father's Day has come and gone but I still wanted to share the card that I made for my Father-In-Law because I think it goes way beyond Father's Day.  This would make a beautiful birthday, retirement, thinking of you etc....card.

Dad lives in Florida now and even when he was here local he lived on a lake.  He's always loved being around the water.  I know he really enjoyed this card.

I used the beautiful Large Lighthouse from I Brake For Stamps.

The anchor was cut with a Quickutz die and it was colored with Copic markers.

I have had this embossing folder for some time now and thought it was perfect to go with cutie here no sentiment needed it says it all....my card was done on white card stock image was colored with Spectrum Noir Markers then fussy cut and adhered with pop dots.....punched out 3 balloons that I doodled on and drew some strings....and that about covers it.

See you next Tuesday and have a great week.

I Brake For Birds and Simple Things.....

{jane bosi}
Happy Monday, Brakers!  While paging through a popular stamping publication, I saw a card similar to the one I'm sharing today.  I thought it was so beautiful, I just had to recreate it.  I don't own the images from the publication, but I immediately thought of the beautiful birds and florals found on Sheet 141A Birds!  It's true that inspiration is every where!

I did a lot of distressing with inks and water coloring to complete my card.  There are also multiple layers of stamping, paper and even a doily!  It was fun seeing the recreation of a beautiful and earthy card.  My sentiment comes from Full Sheet Beach Theme.  It's good advice :)

I Brake For Father's Day!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing the card that I made for my husband for Father's Day tomorrow.  The canoe image and paddle are from I Brake For Stamps.  My husband lived year round on a lake and still loves going back to it and renting a cottage every summer.

The 2 images I used from IBFS are Canoe Scene and Paddle Frame.  I only used one oar from the frame this time.  If you want to see my other card using these two images (and the whole frame) you can click here.

For this card I chose to use the California Poppy and because I was just using one other color I just colored the flower by itself no leaves or stem.....really love how it turned out....my poppy was colored with Spectrum Noir markers and papers are from DCWV....circle cut with a sizzix framelits.

That's it for me today hope you enjoyed and I will see you next week.

I Brake For Hydrangeas!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a beautiful floral image with you.
The stamp is called Fleur Hydrangea Collage.
The verse came from the set called Every Day Phrases.
The flowers embellishments are Wild Orchid flowers.

I tried to color it to look like the one in my yard that's about to bloom and I think I came pretty close.  They're such a pretty flower.

I Brake to Celebrate !!!

Hello IBFS fans !!

It's Crystal here and today I have a red white and blue Celebrate card using the Large Liberty Femme image , this image comes in three sizes and can be found here along with other Femme images. I  water colored my image with my Derwent Inktense colored pencils and a paint brush and water.
when I water-color I just add the pencil to the outer edges of the line work and then use the water to blend the color out , this is how you get a gradient look to your coloring , the color is more intense on the edges and lighter in the center .

I Brake For Slately Giraffes

Used the Yellow, Blue, and Mahogany Bister on a piece of watercolor paper next I stamped my giraffe image using Memento Black Noir ink....not sure about the papers I used or where they came from but thought they worked well with the image.

Well that is it for me this week see you next Tuesday.

I Brake For Birthdays!

{Jane Bosi}  I Brake For Birthdays, and banners, and dragons......Isn't he just cutest little Shrek-like dragon you have ever seen?  He's from the brand new sheet called You Are The Beast Dragon Sheet.  There's a companion sheet that is equally adorable called  Let's Party Dragon Sheet.  Be sure to check them both out!

I stamped the dragon using the chalk board technique so that it would stand out against the colorful background.  To create the background, I stamped two of the banner images repeatedly on white card stock.  I colored each element using a rainbow of Copic markers--really any marker would illicit the same result.  I layered two of the balloon images using masking to create a colorful embellishment and then added the sentiment to finish things off.

I'm sure that little guy will be equally fun to color so, stay tuned!

I Brake For Yellow Lilacs!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a different kind of window card.
This time I used acetate to make a mostly clear front.

The text is from EVERY DAY PHRASES and the flower is called LARGE LILAC.

My friend needed a birthday card for her sister-in-law and her only request was that it be pretty.  She was very pleased.

And yes...I realize that lilacs aren't yellow.  Let's just say I used "artistic license" on this one!

I Brake for Babies ...

Hello IBFS fans !!

It's Crystal and I am here with a sweet baby card I made using Baby In Bubbles , such a cute stamp . I am loving the watercoloring lately, so that is how I colored this image , if you have not tried watercoloring you really should. For this card I am using my Tim Holtz distress ink pads and a clear block to bounce color on to act as a palette and a watercolor blush and water , I stamped my image in archival ink  or you can use any waterproof ink  and dip my brush in the water and pick up some color and start painting , it is so relaxing , I hope this card inspires you to give it a try , the best tip I can give you is use water-color paper and dry the image between layers of color to get intense color .

I Brake For Sunflowers

Good morning peeps, Beth with you again this week and I just received some new rubber from I Brake For Stamps and have used two of them on my card this week.

As you can see I had some fun with the background on this card I guess you could say I made my own Gelli Plate.....the first thing I did was add some stenciling and applied it with Ranger's Tumble Glass and Faded Jeans distress inks.......next I took the Circle Pattern stamp and stamped over the stenciling using Mustard Seed and Faded Jeans background done.
Next I took the Large Sunflower Corner stamped it with black ink and then colored it with Spectrum's and lastly added my sentiment called Nature.
This was mounted on a piece of brown card stock and then on a green card.
Well that does it for me this week hope you have enjoyed my card see you again next Tuesday.
Hugs
Beth
