I Brake for Baby Chicks

Good afternoon Peeps, Beth here with a baby peep for your enjoyment this cute little fellow is called Baby Chickadee and thought he made a sweet Easter card.

I also added some Flourishes from the Half Sheet 129B Remember When........my background is a failed attempt at the Bokeh Technique but thought it was still pretty so used it for this image.....I lightly colored the image with Copics added a sticker for sentiment a couple of small 3-D butterflies, and lastly some pretty green ribbon......the pretty spring papers are from DCWV and Navy card stock from SU.

Well that is it for me this week want to wish you all a Happy Easter and I will see you next week.

I Brake For Spring!

{jane bosi}

Happy Monday, Brakers!!

I'm happy to report that the sun shines today and it's making me feel all happy and dancey!  This beautiful silhouette image, called Mayday,  is the perfect expression of my inside giddy!

I started by taping the edges of some water color paper and applying various watercolors.  Once it was dry, I removed the tape and stamped over the top.  My final touches were adding some baker's twine, sequins and this truthful sentiment from Time For Friendship.

We're Spring Brakin' this week so, I'm out, my friends!

Don't forget to be awesome!  TTFN--Jane

I Brake for Springtime and Pansies.

Good morning peeps, Beth here with another card using the beautiful Jumbo Pansies from IBFS....Pansies are one of my favorite flowers and they always spell spring for me.......had so much fun doing this card.

My card uses the Whitewash Technique by Melanie Muenchinger.....love the look of this tech...looks like I have stamped on vellum.....I stamped the image twice using ranger embossing ink added white embossing powder then the fun began....I next took a aqua brush added watered down white craft ink to my images after I was happy with that I next did the same thing with some colored ink pads to add just a little color.......finally added some beads and pearls to the centers of the flowers.....a cute little hummingbird outline sticker that I colored.....this is a definite re-do technique.

Hope you have enjoyed my post today and I will see you next week.
Hugs

I Brake For Bister, Mister!

{jane bosi}

Happy Monday, Brakers!!  I have a quick card share today!  Still playing around with my Bisters and learning how to control and layer the colors.  For this card, I wanted a masculine feel so, used Green, Blue and Yellow bisters.

This is one of the first IBFS sheets, called Music Sheet, I purchased many many moons ago.  I love it because the images are genderless and hip (although, my kids tell me anyone truly "hip" never uses that word anymore!).  It's a wonderfully versatile sheet.

For this project, I used Fabriano water color paper.  I heat embossed the drum set, as well, so in real life, it's a bit shiny and pops right off the page!  My sentiment comes from the Floral Half Sheet 148A.

Give it a whirl!  Don't forget to be awesome!

I Brake For A Friend's House

{jane bosi}

Happy Monday, Brakers!  Today, as we are on the cusp of spring, I have a colorful, flowery card to share!

I've been goofing around with my gelli plate lately and used it to create my background.  By combining several Distress Inks and this awesome diamond background stamp, I was able to produce my colorful piece.  I am a big fan of mixed media.  This has a similar feel, but so much quicker and with similarly interesting results.

After the background dried, I stamped, using Archival Black ink, over the top with one of my all time favorite silhouette images.  It's called Floral Silhouette and I just love the delicate Queen Anne's lace among the other images.

To finish things off, I added a sentiment from Inspirational Plate #2.

I hope this finds you well and about to get inky!  Don't forget to be awesome!

I Brake for Blessings!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing a sympathy card with you.  My co-worker lost her baby and I wanted something beautiful for her.

On the front of the card I used a verse that's not meant to be for a sympathy card but by eliminating the final line I felt it was appropriate for her.  She's religious and I think these words will mean something to her.

The stamp is called The Blessings Of Peace and it's a Christmas sentiment. (minus the last line)

Inside I stamped a teddy bear and a sympathy verse.
I hope she's able to start healing soon.

I Brake for Retirement ...

Hello IBFS fans !!!

It's Crystal here and today I made a retirement card with a cute fishing image from the IBFS103 Seniors half sheet  , I can imagine fishing to be top of the list for a new retired person , so I made a card for it , my sentiment is Happy Retirement and from half sheet #043 and I heat embossed it on vellum . I made my banners from washi tape and attached to bakers twine ,   my frame is a die from MFT that embosses wood grain and then I sponge walnut ink to bring out wood grain , I kept this pretty simple and let the image be the star ...

I Brake for Fashinonista

Good morning peeps, Beth here with another card for you this week and have decided to use a couple of stamps from the More Fashionista Half Sheet from Stampinback and sold at I Brake For Stamps.

These stamps are pretty easy to work with not a lot of coloring as you can see I decided just to make the clothes hair and accessories pop and also went a little bold with my colors....the designer paper is from a Recollections pad called Painted Fancy.....colored my image with Stampin-Up markers.....used oranges, blue, and white card stock, border punch Martha Stewart, and Spellbinder dies.

Until next week.
Hugs
Beth

I Brake For Animals

{jane bosi}

Happy Monday!!  Today, I'm sharing my best attempt at another "boy" ish card!  I'm not entirely convinced my 15 year old nephew will appreciate the workmanship that went into making it, but I'm quite pleased!

I created my background using a technique called Bleach Blocking.  It creates a colorful and texture rich background.  I chose my distress inks thinking of a more masculine card......color choices are so important when creating the "feel" of a masculine card, don't you think?

To complete my project, I used this awesome TRIO stamp!  I stamped on cream colored card stock using Archival Ink.  This is the best permanent/waterproof ink I own!  It gives such a crisp image that is plenty black.  The only downside, I can see, is that it doesn't work with my Copic markers.  But, nevermind that.  There are plenty of other ways to apply color!  For this card, I used the same distress inks I used on my background and my aqua painter.  I wanted just a shadow of the light purple color (dusty concord) around each animal.....The giraffe and tiger both are colored with Rusty Hinge in varying intesity.

To finish it off, I added the "Enjoy" sentiment from Floral Half Sheet 148B.  So many good choices on that sheet!!

That's all for me today----have a great one!!  Don't forget to be awesome!

I Brake for the Easter Bunny ..

Hello IBFS fans !!
It's Crystal here  for I Brake For Stamps Design Team and today I made an Easter cad using an image from Randi Dandi Series 2 sheet and the sentiment is from the Easter Collage quarter sheet  , I think this Bunny is so darling and he was fun to bring to life with color , I used my copic markers and then stamped and cut the bow  from matching papers and popped it up and the frame itself was cut and popped up .

bunny Randi Dandi #2IMG_3707
see the sparkle strip , to get this look I took a strip of double sided tape and ran it down the card and the sprinkled ultra fine glitter in diamond on it and then burnished it into the tape .
IMG_3708IMG_3709

inside I stamped the same image to create a water mark and the stamped sentiment over it
