I Brake For Christmas and New Year's!

Hello and Happy Saturday!

I'm sorry I'm a little late today...Christmas got the best of us.  It may be 46 degrees and pouring rain here but it's still Christmas and I had a few last minute things to do.

This is my last post before Christmas so I've decided to show you one last Christmas cards as well as a New Year's Card.

My Christmas card has no image but two verses from I Brake For Stamps.  They're both from the full sheet called Every Day Phrases.  I used Wishing you... and Merry Christmas.

I Brake for Jingle Bell Elf

Happy Monday! It’s almost Christmas and I am still enjoying all my red and green. But, alas, all good things do come to an end. This will probably be my last Christmas card for I Brake for Stamps (IBFS). Now we need to see some spring! That will be next week.

Today I have an art card created with a very handsome little elf. This little character was designed by Rick St. Dennis for IBFS. You can find “Jingle Bell Elf” in digital format or as a rubber stamp in the store, whichever version you like.

Jingle Bell Elf was colored with Copics. I added some light gold glitter brush marker over the jingle bells. I also added some highlights with green and red glitter brush markers on the garland that is on the front of his shirt. I completed the card with several layers of cardstock, designer paper, die-cut corners, and some ribbon.

I hope that you come “like” our IBFS Facebook page. You can keep up with all the sales and new releases.

Thanks for stopping by. All the links and other detailed information will be on my blog, AJ’s Designs.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

I Brake For Snowmen

Happy Sunday, Kristen here to share a wintery card with you today!  I couldn't have planned this blog post any better, here in New Hampshire, we just received 13 inches of snow, and most likely, my kids will head out side to build a snowman of their own.
For my card today, I used snow family rubber stamp to create this holiday card.  This card would be perfect for a family of three, and then you could use the following sentiment: From Our Family to Yours!  Wouldn't that be so cute??? Anyways, I hope you like the card, and I hope it is warm wherever you are! Happy Holidays!

I Brake For The Holy Family

Holy family
Happy Friday!!
I'm getting into the season by working with some new Christmas images from I Brake For Stamps!  I love this sheet by Rob Meijer for Stampinback.
To complete my card, I stamped Names of Jesus Background on a scrap of designer paper.  All images are colored with copic markers with a little added Stickles bling.
It's non traditional.   I like.

I Brake for Rudolph

Hi There, Kristen here to share my newest card with you!  Tis the season to be merry, and I am in full Christmas and Holiday card making mode.  I made this super easy card, using Rudolph rubber stamp.   This image would also be perfect to make name tags for gifts.  I actually hand cut him and pop dotted him for a little depth, so like I said, he would be great for Christmas gift tags.  Hmmmm...maybe I will create that project and post it in a few days.  Well, that's all I have for you today. I hope you are enjoying your December thus far. Happy creating!

I Brake for a Southwest Scene

Aletha here. I hope that everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving. My family and I certainly did. Now we are getting revved up for Christmas.

But, for this week, I veered off course. I decided on doing a Southwest style card using I Brake for Stamps (IBFS) Maiden with Dove rubber stamp. I love this image and the size is just perfect for my coloring mediums.

I embossed the image with black pigment ink and clear embossing powder. Now the fun starts. Not my usual Copics coloring but with Twinkling H2Os. My tans and browns are from instant coffee. Yes, you heard right, instant coffee. I love the texture that it leaves. You do need to make if very strong and always use watercolor paper too. Some of the darker areas were achieved by very little water and a lot of coffee, not a sludge texture, but definitely thick. I did test on a scrap piece of paper to see just how strong the color would be. You can also add some water to the image before painting with the coffee. That gives it that watercolor feel, which is what you are really doing with coffee and not paints.

I did some fussy cutting and mounted her on copper cardstock and mounted that on a piece of natural paper that was embossed with gold pigment ink and clear embossing powder. The last two layers are a coffee filter that I wrinkled and used distress ink and water on the wrinkles. I ironed that flat for drying and mounted on some scrap cardstock. That was mounted on more copper cardstock and mounted on the card base. You can check out my blog, AJ’s Designs, for most of the supply links.

I Brake for “ ‘Twas the night before Christmas…

...and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.” This time of year is my favorite season to create cards. I always do the traditional and complimentary colors, red and green. I may add the touch of gold or purple, but the majority of my cards will be very strong in red and green. With that rule, “The Night Before Christmas” image, designed by Rick St.Dennis MFA (RSD) for I Brake for Stamps (IBFS) was perfect for my red and green. You can find this little guy in digital format in the RSD digital section under the Randi Dandi Section.

I colored “The Night before Christmas” with Copics and added some Gelly Roll Stardust glitter pen for some accents. My dies cuts are Spellbinder’s Holly Motifs. Before I release the cardstock from the die I distressed the embossed areas with Gathered Straw Distress Ink and added Stardust glitter pen to those areas. Finished it off with some flat-backed red pearls.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you stop by everyday for more IBFS inspiration. You can find more details at my blog, AJ’s Designs.

Wishing everyone in the United States, Happy Thanksgiving!
